Is Messi going to perform on a rainy tuesday night in stoke? You know Rooney will.
if i hear the "but can he do it on a cold night at stoke" argument one more time....a match between barca and stoke specifically on a cold, wet tuesday at the brittania would be the most anticipated football match of all time

to some idiots it seems that the only things messi has left to prove in world footbll are to win a world cup...and score on a 'wet tuesday night' in stoke ffs get over it STOKE ARE NOT A BENCHMARK AT ALL

Think this one's a little small. Gonna have to throw him back Hawkesy.

If you can't understand what the terminology means then that's not my problem.

It's about the player who will give EVERYTHING at ANY TIME compared to the one who only wants to do things on their terms.

We all know that on that tuesday night in stoke, Rooney will roll up his sleeves and produce the same effort he does week in week out. Will messi?

I know you're only trolling, and it's funny, but I actually think Messi in all seriousness would give 100% at Stoke on a wet Tuesday night. He is a player who is constantly on the move and works hard... Plus he is about 2 or 3 levels above Rooney in terms of class, much like the Argentina national side is a class above England national side.

Pretty much every player will raise his game for those sorts of matches but that's not what Hawkesy is saying. It's whether you still put in when you're on a shit pitch on a wet, cold day with a team that's not playing well and you're being kicked from pillar to post by the defenders.

To be fair to Messi, I reckon he'd still be going at it, he's not a lightweight. Reminds me a bit of Bestie the way he rides through tackles.

A bit bizarre this though. A Millwall and a Spurs fan defending Shrek.

Something we agree on :D

I still await your response on last post in regards to Dzeko/Rooney. I hope the lack of response is not because my opinion is totally crazy...

Messi at just 24 is Barcelona's second highest ever scorer in the clubs History - 194 goals for Barca.

Dont worry about what he would or wouldnt do on a wet night at Stoke. I wonder if he would even know where it is. I doubt anyone would want to go there, sounds like a fuckin shit place to go.

It is, however I hear it's paradise compared to somewhere like naples. In stoke the bin men actually collect the rubbish on the streets every week, not just once a year.

I hear that Napoli with rubbish on the street is still better than Stoke.

Stoke got given city status after WW2, they moved the bank of England there as the germans didn't bomb it. They looked down and presumed they'd already hit the place.

As wrong as it is and as stupid as he is for doing what he did, would Tevez had done that when he was at Man USA??? Seems Mancini loses respect amongst his players very easily and that's what id be worried about if I were on the Man City board

Also LOL @ those comparing Dzeko to Tevez, and then LOL @ those trying to show up
Rooney by questioning Messi. All 4 players are worthy of mention though Dzeko is not even close YET to being the player Carlos is, and most certainly is not even close to being the best strikers in the world. That status is easily held by Messi although
Rooney is waiting to pounce if Messi slips up. Lets not get carried with Dzeko just yet. He has shown glimpses of brilliance but he does play in a very very talented team and so if he is going to challenge the likes of Messi and Rooney, he needs to be as consistent as them and that doesn't mean scoring 4 goals in 1 game and then go missing for the next 4 games. I'm talking the same consistency we see from Messi and Rooney week in week out otherwise he shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence!!!

Hardly a fair comparison, on a wet tuesday night in stoke, the harder you run the warmer you get.

On that hot day in elizabeth, the harder you run the more chance of dying.

Correct, it's normally the full back as I run past him and head towards the keeper.
