Best Goal Witnessed
So we have had the hardest defender debate,
In your time in the Amateur league what is the best goal you have witnessed being scored against your team (at the time)?

Re: Best Goal Witnessed
Playing a reserves game for parafield in the early 2000's against para hills east .. Some solid lad upfront who is very vocal and passionate about his club scored 2 absoulate crackers
Almost knocking himself celebrating ....
Players that I have witnessed who have that uncanny ability of scoring great goals
Matty Tape
Scott Bradley
David Mooney
There is a story that gets repeated each year about a guy scoring a cracker against Polonia but like the loch ness monster it never has been seen lol

Re: Best Goal Witnessed
The Polonia Goal is all myth...the goal against Noarlunga United is folklore though
Re: Best Goal Witnessed
I saw the best goal ever today, Richie Watkins scoring for phwsc against jets afc in O35s.
Re: Best Goal Witnessed
Was he in goals? Wouldn't be the first time he has done that, monster of a kick on the man!wato87 wrote:I saw the best goal ever today, Richie Watkins scoring for phwsc against jets afc in O35s.
Re: Best Goal Witnessed
Mark comini last year for vista reserves against the gully, 35 yard bomb after taking one on and cutting in a little bit, thing moved everywhere then went in the top corner
Re: Best Goal Witnessed
Big Tony Reeves for the DOWNS against Inter in the 80 something minute in 2006 for the DOWNS to win their 1st league championship
Re: Best Goal Witnessed
I have it on good authority from a number of people at PHE who played that game, that they have never seen a better goal than this one. The goalscorer himself claims it to be his best, although he scored one on the final day of this season that he reckons comes a very close second.bloodypassit wrote:Playing a reserves game for parafield in the early 2000's against para hills east .. Thought the second Pontian goal today was a cracker, the keeper didnt move, too bad it didnt count for anything though
Re: Best Goal Witnessed
Saw one piece of magic this year that made me hold my breath from when he beat the first defender.
One of our lads Goanar picked up the ball well inside his own half, skinned four players, and slotted the ball bast keeper for the best individual goal I have ever witnessed bar Lionel Messi/Maradona doing the same thing on tv.

Johnny Foat v the Downs @ Argana Park about 5 years ago
Great ball from myself went over his right shoulder as it came down he volleyed it first time from about 30-35 yards out, past maybe Andy Allen or Hullys, straight into the top corner right in front of the Downs faithful at their club end
Absoulte spanker!

Re: Best Goal Witnessed
Had a free kick scored against me in the Div 7's this seasons against Cougars. Still can't work out how it went in. I could've sworn it was going high & wide and then curved and dipped at the last second to go in the top corner... Jack Mehorf and the rest of the Cougars lads on here were there... They'd be able to back up my story... It was class.
The moral of the story is, NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO HIT THAT GOOD A FREE KICK IN DIV 7!!!!!
The scorer did buy me a beer after the match so all was nearly forgiven!

Re: Best Goal Witnessed
This year in the c's IF v Pontian at Pontian, Tan hit an unbeilevable net buster! 25 yards out on the corner of the 18 yard box,Volley straight into the top corner, dip and swerve included, even if Pontians had 10 goalkeepers they would not have saved it. it was by far the best goal i have ever seen.
Re: Best Goal Witnessed
Yep. Have to agree with that. Absolute cracker. Was going to post that one myself.haywood djablowme wrote:Johnny Foat v the Downs @ Argana Park about 5 years ago

First time volley off a cross from all of 25-30 yards out if i remember correctly was the pick of the bunch to draw the scores level at 2-2 pretty much straight from a kick off after gardens went 2-1 up. never seen a better goal before or since.bloodypassit wrote:Playing a reserves game for parafield in the early 2000's against para hills east ..
