Best Goal Witnessed

Post by MATTY6 »

So we have had the hardest defender debate,

In your time in the Amateur league what is the best goal you have witnessed being scored against your team (at the time)?

Playing a reserves game for parafield in the early 2000's against para hills east .. Some solid lad upfront who is very vocal and passionate about his club scored 2 absoulate crackers
Almost knocking himself celebrating ....

Players that I have witnessed who have that uncanny ability of scoring great goals
Matty Tape
Scott Bradley
David Mooney

There is a story that gets repeated each year about a guy scoring a cracker against Polonia but like the loch ness monster it never has been seen lol

The Polonia Goal is all myth...the goal against Noarlunga United is folklore though

Was he in goals? Wouldn't be the first time he has done that, monster of a kick on the man!

I have it on good authority from a number of people at PHE who played that game, that they have never seen a better goal than this one. The goalscorer himself claims it to be his best, although he scored one on the final day of this season that he reckons comes a very close second.

No, he was playing up front today, nice shot from 30 yards out.

Saw one piece of magic this year that made me hold my breath from when he beat the first defender.

One of our lads Goanar picked up the ball well inside his own half, skinned four players, and slotted the ball bast keeper for the best individual goal I have ever witnessed bar Lionel Messi/Maradona doing the same thing on tv.

Johnny Foat v the Downs @ Argana Park about 5 years ago

Great ball from myself  went over his right shoulder as it came down he volleyed it first time from about 30-35 yards out, past maybe Andy Allen or Hullys, straight into the top corner right in front of the Downs faithful at their club end :D

Had a free kick scored against me in the Div 7's this seasons against Cougars. Still can't work out how it went in. I could've sworn it was going high & wide and then curved and dipped at the last second to go in the top corner... Jack Mehorf and the rest of the Cougars lads on here were there... They'd be able to back up my story... It was class.

The moral of the story is, NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO HIT THAT GOOD A FREE KICK IN DIV 7!!!!! :x

The scorer did buy me a beer after the match so all was nearly forgiven!

This year in the c's IF v Pontian at Pontian, Tan hit an unbeilevable net buster! 25 yards out on the corner of the 18 yard box,Volley straight into the top corner, dip and swerve included, even if Pontians had 10 goalkeepers they would not have saved it. it was by far the best goal i have ever seen.

First time volley off a cross from all of 25-30 yards out if i remember correctly was the pick of the bunch to draw the scores level at 2-2 pretty much straight from a kick off after gardens went 2-1 up. never seen a better goal before or since.
