Re: Hernandez
Every single manager in the world would have Rooney in their team, Barcalona included! He'll be the difference for us this year, he was pretty much nonexistent last term

As for Rooney - best player in the world ATM
Only the Mancs say that. He is no way the best player in the world ATM.

Not even close. Ronaldo and Messi still claim the top two. If we are going based on form at the moment, I think Aguero is up there also.

Top ten. Without a doubt. Personally I was sad to see Cleverly go off, that kid is a good footballer and it was a garbage challenge from that cunt Davies. Should have been red.The one and only wrote:so your saying he's not even close to 3rd fair enoughYids wrote:Not even close. Ronaldo and Messi still claim the top two. Messi is always better than him ATM.
He's better than Zidane at the moment, then again, this is the latest i've seen on Zidane.

Re: Hernandez
Whilst I don't think Rooney has the abilities of Lionel Messi or a Cristiano Ronaldo, he definitely is a top class player who works very very hard for his team, can score goals for fun, can create them for others, chases back and has a great defensive mindset for a striker and so right at this moment, he is one of the best players in the world playing in one of the best sides in the world but if I was given the option of him or Messi, I'd still take Messi in a heartbeat. Rooney is great value though, probably one of the best strikers in modern times who could well go down as one of the all time greats depending on how his career goes from now till he retires. Certainly in my top 5 ATM and I hate those man USA pricks

I'm a United fan and even I agree with this. Knocking in hatricks against average sides like Bolton and an extremely understrength Arsenal side are not the benchmark to be judging a player being best in the world.Chelsea4thewin wrote:lets see how he goes against Chelsea this weekend
If he starts knocking them in regularly in Europe (against quality sides) and against teams like Citeh and Chelsea, then we can really start discussing that sort of thing.
The fact is, Rooney was rubbish last season and Messi took Barca to a European title.
You'd have to be nuts to think Rooney is a better footballer than Messi. Rooney though is in my top 5 though.
