Two questions - why the yellow card and secondly, the keeper moved off his line before the kick was taken, so should it have been re-taken?

Yellow card for his stop-start run, which is not allowed.

but not a bookable offence surely, the game should have been play on as the keeper had the ball.

Should have been retaken as the keeper moved off his line before the ball was kicked.

the yellow card is for stopping his run, you can't do that anymore, it is a bookable offence
so it is irrelevant that the keeper is off his line because an infringement occurred before the ball was even back in play

In which case the ball is dead so the referee can't restart play without anything except to retake the penalty.

No, the kick should not have been retaken. Had he scored then yes, it would have retaken. He is booked for the deception on the keeper.

It is only an offence if the keeper is deceived. It's like the call of "MY BALL", most people think that's an offence as well, but it's only an offence if someone is deceived.

The keeper moving off his line before the player took the kick, to me, occurred first, therefore it precedes that the keeper erred first, the kick should be retaken. Had the keeper been on the line as he should be before the ball is touched, then I'd agree with you.

a yellow card offence is more serious than a keeper moving off his line, hence that overrides
say you take a dive and someone stomps on you for it... who gets the free kick?

If the ref blew play up for the dive, the opposing team. He can then send the stomper off.

The other team would get the free kick but they'd be down to 10 men.

He was off his line before the fake so you can't claim that it caused him to be off his line.

:?:

Because of the fake? End of, he moved off his line before the ball was touched. Shouldn't matter...SURELY....... as per LOFG!
