Journeyman, we are looking at doing tht with all the coaches and captain from all the clubs, from next mon after ive completed trying to get best alternatives to get this as much publicity to the unconverted a pic with banners tht say Kick Violence Out Of Football is just 1 of the things we are in the proces of planning!!!Journeyman wrote:Not sure if its been suggested , but as an idea for the OP to suggest to the league, how about a massive 'team photo' in the grandstand on the western side of Hindmarsh.
Club captains in their team shirts, officials in club shirts ( if they have them ) all behind a banner supporting the anti violence message.
I recall seeing a similar photo a few years ago and it looked excellent. Surely this would send the message as a league we support the overall theme
It seems with Val putting in the paper about a peace round this weekend tht we shld go with the white arm bands, so wht im proposing if all clubs cld assist, is tht b4 the game and this will needed to be coordinated between the 2 clubs on the day is if we cld get 1) Wear the white armbands on all players and club officals and even spectators if possible if they want to show their support to this cause?? 2) We could have the 2 teams line up with the referees facing the majority of the crowd as the home team walks past the refs and shakes hands with them proceeding to shake hands with the opposition players?? 3) A big group photo between all players from both sides with officials aswell showing there support.
Maybe this will just remind everybody at the grounds especially on the day to just have a think about wht we are doing b4 going to extremes tht we have seen in the past!!
I also think tht it shows tht while everybody wants to win, everybody wants the "Violence Kicked Out Of Football"

Re: Update Kick Violence Out Of Football
First of all most amateur sides do not have enough depth to play out a 38 week season nor do I think they would want to. Not even the A-league plays that many fixtures and some of those guys are being paid a lot of money to play. I only live for football (soccer) however I would not want to be playing all year around. I enjoy my Sunday's off and I am sure most people would agree with me.BCS88 wrote:Lol well i love playing so doesnt bother me, id assume everyone else here does too.. Dont you think it is a little bit too much?
Re: Update Kick Violence Out Of Football
no one is in for next year yet as no one has applied, let the dust settle on this season first and see what the saasl do to maiwand, besa, pontian and go from thereBig G wrote:Hang on, are we actually behind the league and it's decisions? Aren't BESA back in? I'm not supporting the SAASL if these clubs aren't kicked out properly.

Re: Update Kick Violence Out Of Football
Once again Wow.
A simple idea for all our simple minds is best I say. As stated before, lets show unity first, everyones support is respected and strength in unity will prevail. A start is 'white armbands', Beograd Amaterurs are 100% behind this.
It's kind of sick to hear the constant bickering, I know we all have different opinions and at times different agendas, but our ultimate goal should be 'to make sure the game we love to play and support prospers'. Making sure we are united to stamp out violence is the first step! Does anyone disagree with that simple ideology?
What comes next is all great (future campaigns, fund raising etc...), lets start this weekend and if we as an entire football community are able to make something better or make a difference, well wow - I think we should all be proud.
Any comments?

I think we should go out with the white arm bands this week. A good intiative shown by those involved.

Re: Update Kick Violence Out Of Football
Just wear the white arm bands this weekend, then after the discussions with the SAASL on Monday they can put in place for the Cup Final to make a bigger statement as per brooksy's suggestion. Surely there is no problem with that?
Just do it! Let the Clubs run with it this weekend, I cant see the SAASL being too concerned.

Re: Update Kick Violence Out Of Football
Let me clear this up for all those that can read but dont understand and all those who come into the fray half way through and see the end product.
I am not against this excersize and am not telling anyone to not be involved....period
my only point as BSC88 reiterated was that i dont believe it will address the issue with the peoples concerned....we are preaching to the converted and the media thing has been and gone just as it has many times before and we are now poking the sleeping bear because the media isnt going to say wow what a great peacefull bunch this lot are but will rather bring to the forefront again the violent incidents.....and just as most of you lot have only read into my post what YOU wanted to hear so will the naive public....
not all Afghani's are violent nor are Albanians, Serbs, Croats etc etc.... so the focus should be to educate and assist these groups to integrate and accept our peacefull ways....this is where the energy should be concentrated( why i suggested brooks use his status to assist these groups by coaching them instead of chasing coin)....you can not persecute the many because of the stupid actions of a few....if you do you will only force the many to join in with the few because when push comes to shove blood/race is thicker than water....as u all know it only takes one person to start something stupid and it gets out of hand from there and im sure you would all jump to the aid of a mate.....
dont misunderstand again i am not condoning violence but we are all to eager to stereotype and say kick them out which is only a bandaid and not the way forward or a solution.....
I will be happy to participate in any excersize that addresses the direct issue and a way forward to reducing the possiblity of it happening in the future.....im sorry i disagree with the current approach but best of luck with it

Re: Update Kick Violence Out Of Football
not at all....but when you have community type clubs as you well know from your time at White City it is a difficult and complicated task to remove a member of the community and unfortunately its sporting club.... and yes i agree with that but it has to come from within that group and not from percieved outsiders....that will create more seperation and anger as they will still be accepted by their own kind but feel victimised by the outside world..... the good people at any club like this need to be made to feel welcome in the sporting community and involved in that process.... all they will see if any of them actually hear/read or witness this is that the residents of this country they have come to hate them which in itself creates more hatred..... i would be happy to join you in tackling this problem directly at its source for the better of amateur football if that kind of suggestion is available....again good luck with your questbrooksy7 wrote:Are you appossed to kicking the 1 person who wants to start something and saying to them go home relax and come back next week but dint bring ur violence with you??? No member of White City or Beograd Amateurs supports any type of violence, no matter if the supporter/player/sponsor or whatever he/she may be, if they promote and are involved in any type of violence they will not be welcome and I assure you they will be dealt with by the club!
You can ask all my players/club officials of our stance on this, if the perpetrator feels victimised well boohoo, we are a club in the community, we are a very proud club and we will not stand for any violence. Full stop.

Handy-Man, simply leave our club out of your 'examples', or come down and help us cook the Čevaps if you want to help the club...have a good day.
