Re: Serious disgust!!
I have been out of amature's for about 12yrs. First time back this year only because my lad started playing again. Please don't just single out the 2 teams you have "grouse n' ice," it happens at every club I've seen all year: In Sunday 1st div - A's, B's & the C's. Even your club at West beach cheated. They home refs are ALL cheats in the B's & C's, and it's disgusting. It's bad for the game.
I agree with you to have a kick around and it's all for fun, but the B's & C' refs have ALL been ordinary. Home Crowds are also inciting refs in those two div's.
No wonder troubles start!!

Re: Serious disgust!!
So a question of players attitudes? So you agree then your players who were abusing Pontians players and spectators/club officials/whatever they may have been, was the correct or wrong attitude? How about the attitude of your teenage referee who was cheating all game and then took part in the exchange of abuse after the game was called off?KING NUGGETT wrote:Um, tell the Pontians guys that are on here, not me.Mahogany wrote: Mahogany what a FK'N joke PONTIANS club referee is one of the biggest cheat's in the League!!! hypocritical![]()

FK'N joke
I was only posting what I witnessed, and it's not as one sided as that grouse guy wants to make it out to be.
grouse n' ice wrote:So you consider all linesman calls correct? No club linesman can cheat and call offsides that are incorrect?
So, you agree pushing or laying your hands on a referee is wrong.....only sense I've heard you make.
Jason is right here. It is a question of players attitudes at this level. This has to be addressed at all clubs starting on the training ground. I've done my fair share of abusing refs including my own and it is wrong.
C grade should be fun, B grade competitive but fun and A grade competitive and fair. Will it ever happen, I doubt it, but we have to at least try.
Your trivial comments have no bearing on this discussion as I think only players should be having a think about attitudes towards refs and there decisions, and there own on field behaviours.
I consider cheating you chardonnay off with your left hand without letting the right one know about it
I don't consider all calls a linesman makes as correct.
I was not arguing about whether they were correct calls or not.
I was stating that your referee ignored the Pontians linesmans calls all day, but was quick to give every call to your own clubs linesman, including a lot of offside calls that were far from being offside.
The point I'm making here, is that there are two sides to every story, and that you are only presenting one side of the story, the facts that suit your agenda in slandering two clubs.

Mahogany,
What game were you watching?? The ref might get a couple of decisions wrong but that isn't cheating!! No wonder people can't be f@#ked being a Ref... U make a wrong decision and you are called a cheat and abused. U make a correct decision and still get abused. The B's ref lets off a definite hand ball yesterday in the game which denied a goal scoring opportunity. The florina player didn't even get a yellow but of course to you the ref is a cheat. It is a tough job being a ref/linesman at any grade, and these guys still put their hand up to do it every weekend knowing they are going to get abused. If it wasn't for them , there would be no C and B games...
No one is denying there was a bit of abuse back and forth between players and supporters but the Pontians president enflamed the situation instead of calming things down. All heat of the moment shite...that incident is done and dusted!!Get over it and move on!

Mahogny you really have no clue and you are fired up considering you are a netural supporter
at the end of the day no player weather he is 20 or 59 should have to go to hospital after a match and at no time should a linesman be headbutted.
The goalie was a disgrace to his team mates and club and should count himself lucky that he got to play in the B grade straight after.
That so called cheat of a ref didnt even give him a red card

We have no complaints about the conduct of the ref yesterday. For a young who was put in an awkward situation, he did very well.myopinion2 wrote:Mahogny you really have no clue and you are fired up considering you are a netural supporter

Both teams could have had players sent of etc etc but he blew the whistle to end the game and did exactly what is required from a ref.

If so, he did the reserves in our away fixture and i thought he did a really good job.

its simple we cant get refs ,because as soon as they make a decision that the team dosent agree with, what ever team in what ever division, they just give them so much shite its a disgrace and if they get two decisions wrong then there threatened with there lives , or are scared to make a decision, and then the crowd really want to kill them, and the thing is it is happening every week , and i cant see it stopping

Re: Serious disgust!!
I disagree, to be honest, I think the Club referees have improved out of sight in the last couple of years. The Vale's ref in the B's was excellent, Florina's C team ref for us was Trev and he did a great job, Pontians wasn't bad although he had moments, couldn't complain about Downs, the guy at Fulham did a good job. At the Farm, Leon has been great all year and I think its because you just can't give the whistle to anyone, they have to have done a basic course in the rules.G-Star wrote:I have been out of amature's for about 12yrs. Again, for me the problem comes from players thinking that its the English Premier League and trying to act like them. We all call for 50/50 fouls etc but to have a go a ref's when you don't get one decision is just plain stupid.
Players are the problem here, not the referees.

Saying that, in the last few years we do live in a more stressful world and players/spectators are letting their frustrations out on officials more so than I've seen before(ethnic cleansing of what FFA is trying to achieve will not solve the problem either). I have refereed in the past and no longer do it because I'm sick of the abuse, and done the line and still run the line at times, I still get abused from both sides(even your own spectators/players at times).
What has been evident is the B's & C's refs ordinary decisions, but that's life and we have to get on with it. It does piss you off, and being on the other side of the fence I can understand what officials are going through.
Re: Serious disgust!!
I come and watch all the B games before I play and I must say that some of these refs have done better than the official refs we have got in the A teams after them. I know it is a real tough job and most refs have done well this year. Fulhams and Vales were two that stood out for me as being good refs.

ISC Raptors have the best idea....i think they pay a guy from Iggies( ??) to do their B's and run the line for the A's....Even though we got a belting in the B's he was the fairest and best reserves grade referree by far....dont know the bloke but did a superb job and nobody had any complaints.....if he was getting some drinking money then it was well spent and congratulations to Raptors for being proactive...i know others will agree.....perhaps something for all clubs to consider..... sunday teams get someone from saturdays and vice versa.....

it would be easier to end world hunger mate.....its amazing though how good referreeing manages to end a game with handshakes allround and congratulations from peanuts but yet poor referreeing causes those same people to have a complete change of behaviourFranco UnAmerican wrote:Or maybe just control the peanuts on the side line.....An equally good Idea heyhandy_man wrote:ISC Raptors have the best idea....i think they pay a guy from Iggies( ??) to do their B's and run the line for the A's....Even though we got a belting in the B's he was the fairest and best reserves grade referree by far....dont know the bloke but did a superb job and nobody had any complaints.....if he was getting some drinking money then it was well spent and congratulations to Raptors for being proactive...i know others will agree.....perhaps something for all clubs to consider..... sunday teams get someone from saturdays and vice versa.....

The C's captain from the Vale was the ref in the Vale vs Farm reserves game several months ago and he was by far the most sensible, consistent and unbiased referee I've seen all year. That includes A's.

No offense but that is a load of rot.....I have many a time told my clubs supporters to pull their head in when I think they have gone to far....It is up to you what sought of club you wish to be associated with.handy_man wrote:it would be easier to end world hunger mate.....its amazing though how good referreeing manages to end a game with handshakes allround and congratulations from peanuts but yet poor referreeing causes those same people to have a complete change of behaviourFranco UnAmerican wrote:Or maybe just control the peanuts on the side line.....An equally good Idea heyhandy_man wrote:ISC Raptors have the best idea....i think they pay a guy from Iggies( ??) to do their B's and run the line for the A's....Even though we got a belting in the B's he was the fairest and best reserves grade referree by far....dont know the bloke but did a superb job and nobody had any complaints.....if he was getting some drinking money then it was well spent and congratulations to Raptors for being proactive...i know others will agree.....perhaps something for all clubs to consider..... sunday teams get someone from saturdays and vice versa.....the ref is the conductor and is in control of the tempo and performance both on and off the field IMO....when u start suppressing the emotions at the soccer a lot will go to the footy and relieve the weeks frustrations without being crucified for it....footy umpires seem to accept it much better!
I love nothing more than some good banter/razzing during a game but I think the level of insults are getting worse every year.
I think all club leaders need to take some responsibility for where the game is at now.

Most 'B' Referee's in Division 2 have been good to very good this year, Brahma (had 3), Inter, Vista, Beograd, PHW (and we lost 4 and drew 1) you can enjoy losing a 'fair game' - I look forward to playing (possibly) my last game against Raptors on Sunday Jim, Mega and the team always play it fair (despite the fact we usually get done)
Let's not all get carried away with 'cheats' and 'violence' when the large, large majority of games are played in good spirits with no hint of trouble

The Jets/Ingle Farm guy wears his referees top. You should only be able to wear the refs top if you are "entitled" to though, by that I mean been part of the association and earnt the right to do so. When i have done it I have just worn a neutral colour top, I took a lot of shit last year for wearing all white.
