Lets hope the development of the girls for the future doesn't stop at 14.
STIC needs to be expanded and not cut back.
We need to include Under 15,s 16,s and probably up to Under 18's to capture all the quality that is out there that is yet to peak at 14.

This should probably be another topic- BTW happy that the response to the new W-League coach seems to be so positive- people weighing in are not regular forumites, so that's also good news- means he's known more widely. GO LADY REDS!

That STIC stops at 14 is down to the FFA changing the national tournaments/identification process- that stops at 15, which means SITC stops at 14. FFSA didn't just make this up on their own. This is in line with the boys- once players get to a certain point, knowledge of the game and experience starts counting more heavily- it's not enough just to be athletic or fit, or to 'have enormous potential'. You have to have played the game and know what you're doing. FFA is not going to recruit players for the U17 World Cup, for instance, (which they do at Coffs U15 tournament) who have to be taught basic tactics and brush up on skills.
