Para Hills Vs Toros State League Game

Post by batumgoesthedynamite »

What a cracker of a game!

Para Hills started the stronger, their shape and strength on the ball giving them a few chances, but toros with a new keeper? held strong and got into the game more and more after some 3 weeks off. Toros lacked the ability to play a simple ball out the back at times which will need to be worked on.
Second half was all Toros, a couple of changes by the coach saw them dominate and there striker scored an absolute screamer from a goalie mistake.
Para hills changed to a 4-3-3 and got a goal back with 10 mins to play, a lot of talk of offside but the referee gave it.

Overall a quality game, both teams with some good talent. Both teams would be very competitive against South Ad, Fulham and Sturt.

I was at the game too. Was entertaining but in the end a fair result. Para Hills created the more clear cut chances & could of nicked it near the end. Torros looked to recruited a new keeper 'very tall' & she did well to fend many Knights attacks.
Torros looked to be missing the league leading scorer, in McCormick??

Torros goal was a cracker from about 25-30 yards when goal keeper mishit a clearance & went straight to her. With the Knights goal I was right in line & looked a good call from the lineswoman.

All in all a good game for the nuetral, good crowd & good result for the Gardens Girls target  :D

It would be great to see these clubs going into the prems, if they can compete with Fulham and Sturt. The only problem being the reserves...some clubs just can't have 30 senior players. How can this be solved?

1-1
Not many clear chances by either team. Toros goal was a blinder, what a shot!! But Toros defence kept pushing thier line up too high and got caught out on a through ball. Keeper almost forced the mistake, but the Knights girl did well to keep the ball in and play it back to a team mate who followed up and got the easy tap in.
Very good game to watch as a neutral supporter

Was a new Toros keeper promoted from U/17's due to regular keeper (and Captain) interstate and unavailable. Back next week for the rest of season. She did very well under pressure and we look forward to seeing her develop in the coming seasons. Toros were unlucky not to take the win with just several minutes to go but Knights kept the pressure up to get the draw.
Besides Faulkner the keeper and striker McCormick, we were down 2 other regular starters, so the girls who stepped up to help the team did a great job and it shows the depth at Toros. Given the chance again, i'm sure they would make a good showing in the Prems comp and they do have 2 senior teams, with the Div 1 girls very competitive in their comp also.
