isn't the appeal process part of legal implications. I thought as a vounteer organisation that made up it's own rulles it was rubbish to suggest that there would be legal implications.
Not at all what i was saying. My rubbish comment was in relation to what Swansong posted the below -
Do you fully understand all the legal issues that may arise if you were to ban a club/team without a full investigation ?
After a full investigation the saasl have every right to ban them if they have broken their rules.
so you do fully understand the legal issues then of an investigation being required - in which case how is swannsong's commen rubbish.
Are you getting giddy from all this running round in circles?

Yep. That's Val looking for glory. Pro FFSA tilt to that story.
40+ year history, 5 incidents in the last 13 years - not the best but not worth a full page story. Look at the ratio of games played over 13 years compared to incidents.
I dont see anyone from amateur AFL being smashed for their history of violence at games.
Thanks Val for having a swipe at the Amateur Referees also.
note it was an "anonymous" source as well. How many registered players with SAASL at the moment. How much extra on the player reigstration would it take for someone to run the competion full time.
There are 10 divisions on a saturday, so 100 sides each with 15 players. So 1500 player. Let's say 2,000 players on a sunday.
So 3,500 registered players. Add $20 onto the registrations and SAASL could hire someone full time to run the competition.
Now make it just $10 and make that persons brief also to bring in extra sponsorship for the league and clubs and his wages would be more than covered.

Where can I send my application?
You would quit your current job to take one that pays around $70k a year???

Yes, i get just as giddy going through the same circles with my 3 year old. Swansongs comment was rubbish. Noone said they should have been kicked out without a full investigation, surely that was common sense. Yes i understand the legalities of an investigation being required, is that better?
Again I'll ask as this is not the point of my first rant, do you agree that the SAASL should have dealt with this type of thing better in the past to stop this happeneing or not?
They have enough money to get a good lawyer to make sure any legalities which seem to be your main concern are covered. Lets put it another way, do you think any of the injured Seaford players have a case against the SAASL for not kicking this team out in the past? Legalities apply both ways.

How long would you expect a full investigation to take? Given we are now 4 days after the event would anyone be happy to put their balls on the line and make a decision that if incorrect could result in costly legal action?

Yet not putting their balls on the line could also result in the same thing. Why write rules if you dont plan on spending the time to follow them.

Sometimes, it's the love of the job and the difference you can make that is more important than money.

To be involved in a job where it's linked into your hobby has to be something that most people would aspire to be involved in.
I know I would and yes, I would quit my current job to take one of this manner.

That's what they are doing by doing a thorough investigation isn't it?
Just heard on 5AA that Channel 9 has footage of the incident and will show on the 6pm news tonight. Also that one of the clubs refused to show up to the SAASL disciplinary hearing last night.

I'll put a fair bit of money that it wasn't seaford.

video showed maiwand guys with poles, and seaford fan throwing bottle, before ambulance officers fixing up people. didn't look like a 'crazy' brawl but lots of people involved and the footage was grainy and obviously not complete.
footage of Kenyon saying he has summonsed SAASL officials for a please explain.
then showed amateur hq and a few words from seaford chairman. reported that seaford were fearful of attending disciplinary meeting over further violence fears.

where have you been? SAASL made a statement yesterday. I was told it was sent to all media yesterday afternoon. How much more do you want them to say? Noticed nothing in the Advertiser re the statement, was it on the tv news??
saasl wanted the hearing with both clubs together, seaford refused and want to be heard separate. this is a fair call imo. saasl are treating this as it was just a bit of a scuffle. they are lucky noone was killed.
anyone thinking maiwand was not the instigators of this need to stop hiding behind the race card and pull out the realist card

no they aren't, but they are not ones to throw allegations around, they are having an investigation and helping the police, plus hearing from both clubs, no need to rush into things as the right decision needs to be made as there is so much press around it
God is an Englishman wrote:Interesting to see now we have a seaford supporter throwing a bottle whether the comments about banning EVERYONE continue.
yes, because Seaford have been kicked out of the league many times before, Seaford have also had police and ambulances called to their home ground 3 times this season . oh wait.... thats Maiwand. consistant shit starters. different breed, needs to be stamped out.
