The result was the right one. Manchester United played to their full potential and showed why they are still favourites to take out a astonoshing 20th League crown. Tottenham were alright in the first period, having a few half chances here and there, but they never really got in behind the champions' defensive line of Smalling, Jones, Evans and Evra. The result went the right way, and united's second half dominance proved this.

It's hard to point out specific players who performed well for united as it was a very good team effort to provide them with this 3-0 win. The players of real note are Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young, Anderson & Phil Jones. Firstly, Danny Welbeck. If i was to be honest with you, i was getting extremely frustrated with Danny in the first period as he gave the ball away very cheaply when having his back turned to goal. I had my doubts about the kid, but he is certainly starting to show why he is playing for United, and after his second half performance, im thinking that his loan spell at Sunderland was a genius idea from Sir alex. Very good display and a goal to cap it off. Next up is Rooney. Well what can i say, it's vintage Wayne Rooney. Always on the ball, playing every single position on the field. Im glad he doesn't go overboard with covering the pitch anymore, as it left alot of gaps, but now it's much better. He was everyone and he also got on the scoresheet with a very good header of the ball. Next up is one of three new recruits, Ashley Young. Another good showing from Young. This was probably his worst performance, not in the way that he was bad, he was really good, but for the time he's been at United, it was his worst performance. But, to the game he actually played, and i feel that he brings united really good width and i love the fact that he runs at his defenders and try's to get inside. The one reason why i think it wasnt his best performance is because he still tried to take the defender on but he would always go towards the goal-line. I would like to see him run towards the defender and cut inside like Nani does a few more times. I think it would work really well and provide a few more goals. Next up is Anderson. The work horse. He had a very good game, and his play to pre-setup the goal he eventually scored was magnificant. Very good performance and a vintage 'haha' celebration to top his goal off. [Note- terrific awareness from Danny to hit the cheeky back-heel]. Finally, my man of the match, Phil Jones. The former Blackburn defender was a beast at the back, and i think he filled Vidic's shoes to perfection. With Rio now on his way soon, as we all expect, a Vidic/Jones partnership sounds and looks unstoppable. He was very dominant at the back and he kept his own. His passing was terrific, and one run to note nearing the end when he ran the entire pitch. Love the fact he takes the midfielders on and bursts into the middle of the park on occasions, thus creating space for Ando and co. Very good performance, and was in my opinion, the best on the park. Also, a quick mention to Tom Cleverly. I dont think he improved on his performances of late, but i still think he was solid and is really showing good signs.

This is something people have been talking about for a long time now and it's getting to my nerve. I feel De Gea improved quite a bit in this game, obviously keeping a clean sheet. It will take time for him to get full confidence, as we all know Manchester United is a huge club, and if i were him, id have alot of nerves also. His confidence will grow, but the media needs to stop critizing him for mistakes and let i be. The more he gets criticized the more he will panic and make errors. If the media lays-off him for a bit he will improve. Now, he only made one error in my book for this game, and that was Defoe's attempt which hit the cross bar, but i just hope to god the media don't mention this, and hopefully they give him some praise of improvement, make him feel better and give him some confidence for the Arsenal fixture which will be extremely tough for him.

i think some of them think im a united fanatic, but, trust me, ill be like that for other teams who are the better side. There just wasn't anything i could really say about spurs. I mentioned there only chance, the crossbar, and none of their players really stood out. The only guy who really did, was Lennon. who always beat Evra in the 1v1 situations, otherwise, Smalling had Bale covered all ends up.
