Because of so many people involved no one is sure of the exact identity of guy who lined me up. Police are involved and have already spoken to a few of the boys. I'm sure one of their players has been taken into custody.

My dad refereed them a few years ago and he had to get a police escort out of the ground. Why do we tolerate this sort of crap.

I presumed you might have had a few ales under your belt after yesterday's win when you sent your comments through...all's well :)[/quote]

;) lol i didnt want to use that as an excuse but one to many during the game and after, as i was injured and didnt play... as i said i take back all those comments and have great respect for this country, i didnt mean for it to come across like it did and i didnt realise what it sounded like until i read it again this morning.. i am just sick of being genarilised because of some idiots who have self control issues, not all immigrants are like that a majority are glad to be here..

heres alot of talk about people this spectators that but everyone blaming SAASL take it from me I once seen someone run on to the pitch and hit some one as 2 players were kicking a bloke why he was on the ground so this bloke ran on and snotted a bloke he got 8 games this was in A grade, this toaught him a valuable lesson and he has had no further suspensions from that point yes he was a Tosser but its what ya do for a friend. My point is that its easy to sort out whent its 1 or 2 players spectators however I would like to see someone sort out who did what and who hit who when 40 or 50 are scrapping its very hard to establish if its not recorded so ill say if the SAASL cannot get sufficient evidence then look at banning the entire club but like some say you cant punish everyone for a few peoples crime so i do hope the culprets get smashed by SAASL and the law it needs to happen sooner rather than later

Real sad to read about this, this morning.

Don't have any solutions, or any racist propaganda to post. But as a rep from a club that was SAASL affiliated, I have to question how much an organisation paid about $40 per player, per year (from memory) can do about this sort of thing? I met a few of the people who work down at Grange while we were SAASL, and they will be as gutted as anyone else by what has happened.

Good to read here that those most affected are out of hospital, hope you are all back playing as soon as possible.

I can see a 'cronulla' brewing if this keeps on going.

These albanians and iraqis can't handle a strong challenge. When i play the game if i get hit hard i get back up and congratulate the player who cleaned me up... i'll clean him back in the next challenge.

These guys moan and cry and start making threats. They are F*KING SOFT!!!! i have witnessed it first hand when i played against some of them in a friendly. They are tough in groups of 10 - 30. Unfortunately because they have witnessed atrocities at such young ages they wouldn't hesitate to use a gun or knife. That's why i hope America sinks the F*KNG Middle East with a 300 kT war head and turns it into a F*KING glass crater!

ur a complete joke mate...its people like u that instigate this behaviour with ur comments. bringing someones race into this is slander and just shows how ignorant u r. its like blaming all the poms for the riots or blaming all the italians and greeks for the stock market crash lol. blame the individual not the ethnicity . as with every race u get some dickwads that ruin it and make a bad name for the rest..disappointing to read some of the racist comments on here :? by making racist comments u allow these w@nkers to have an excuse so stop being a :clown: and grow some balls
There is a trend buddy. Call me racist. Still doesn't change the fact that they are always the ones involved.

I used to read this forum a bit and never, but have had to sign up again because I don't remember what my login used to be.

Stumbled across this thread today after seeing these events/BESA in the popular news recently.

When I lived and played in Sydney there was a similar incident in which a couple of players and a larger number of supporters decided to express their concern about on field issues through violence.

At the time my club and a couple of others in the league expressed concern and tried to have this particular club's registration cancelled (later the club was banned). The association being the big, brave organisation it was decided to hide behind the 'we didn't have independant witnesses, we don't know who was involved and to what extent etc' - soft.

In the end we took the difficult decision of privately pursuing charges against the player or two that could be identified through the police. ALL of the charges were documented and listed against the two, and once again they demonstrated their weakness without a crowd to back them up and they quickly rolled on the names and actions of five of their mates, it seems as though they even have to go to court as a mob.

Long story short, after a period of time in which the assoc officials still insisted they could nothing, one of the thug players was sentenced to time, which the league still refused to acknowlege as proof of the need to ban that player. Service time and fines were handed out to others.

Much later (a season or two) the club was finally struck off.

The association wether it likes to acknowlege it or not has a duty of care to it's officials and players. Whilst they cannot prevent all dangerous situations it is incumbent on them to prevent what they can and by that I mean denying registration to clubs or players and banning people if necessary.

I am sorry, deregistering this club several years ago for violence, renaming them, having them commit several violent acts in games again over the last few years and then this last weekend, that is, by any definition, a pattern of behaviour only a very dim person could not see the glaringly obvious. This club needs to go the way of BESA sooner rather than later, and where the players are from, their background etc cannot be given as an excuse. NOTHING excuses these types of acts within this great game.

Forfeit the club until they come forward and name those who carried out the violence, they know who did it and people will come forward. Even when it comes to spectators, it would be rare that someone totally unknown to a club would be at the game. People that just go along to the game for something to watch with no connection with the clubs are unlikely to get violent.

It's a tough line I know, but these behaviours need to be stamped out right now.

Rant over.

SAASL IS ALL TALK NO ACTION. THE BESA WAS POORLY HANDLED. IF THEY ARE SERIOUSE ALL REGISTERED PLAYERS, COACHING STAFF AND CLUB OFFICIALS SHOULD BE BANED UNTIL THEY IDENTIFY SPECTATORS INVOLVED. THEY STILL HAVENT SPOCKEN TO THE REFEREE INVOLVED.

give it time, i'm sure all the hype around this will force the saasl's hand and make these penalties harsh and hopefully the trend will continue

Mr Penalty! why do you think BESA was poorly handled. BESA was suspended by the SAASL immediately after the incident. The Club has admitted they wont reform after the attack by a spectator. The players are playing with other Clubs. Every club applies for affiliation for the next year and this is approved or declined by the League. Do you honestly think any form of BESA will get back in. The SAASL aren't that stupid. I guess the same will happen with this new incident.

what a bad day for our game... the WORLD game. I also would like to see these mugs thrown out of the league like BESA but revoke the players cards for a period of time i let you guys decide the time length im sure some will say life others 12 months etc... This isnt limited to certain ethnic genres but as a whole it seems some communities have more trouble integrating into our cultures than others and seems to be this "us v them" attitude that it kicks off when someone lays a hard tackle! FFS toughn up!!! As for a keeper being bottled from behind away from the action is nothing but a low disgraceful cowardly criminal act and i really hope they find and charge the peanut.

Would've preferred "player who was involved in the match". My user name has very little to do with how we/myself go about playing.

It would not be surprising if Referees decided not to officiate any games involving teams that have shown previous "form".

Of course not however the use of your alias - "Hatchet Squad" - in a story about football (soccer) violence can only fuel the already negative perceptions about the code.

Are you sure about this, last week all the talk was that there players joined the Cougars. This was completely untrue. I hope those involved are caught and punished as this was a shamefule incident. When it comes to the media you can't trust what they say, especially when it comes to our sport.
