Wraith, so you want to hang this one on the League because of an incident after almost 3 seasons ago?
I just hope that your own Club doesn't get caught up in an incident because some "nutter" loses it.
Under your criteria, your Club would be wiped out totally.
You will be on here then screaming about the injustice.

How can you blame the SAASL for some idiots who cant control themselves.
If your Clubs have had problems with this club before, how many have formally reported it to the SAASL - unfair to come on here and make these allegations behind an anonymous name.

With around 100 clubs, say 4000-4500 players, maybe 180-200 fixtures and possibly 10,000 spectators per weekend - one terrible incident - please correctly put into proper context.
Consider what happens in the general community on a Friday or Saturday night, drunken brawls, people being assaulted etc. - serious injuries, visit the RAH on one of these nights.
The media loves this sort of news. Don't give the media ammunition through this forum by making unsubstantiated and wild remarks.

Every part of the Australian community is asked to help new arrivals be accepted and to be assimilated into our everyday Australian life.
This is an extreme and terrible thing for the poor people injured, terrible for our game.
I know the guys at the SAASL will be shattered, but they will investigate this brawl and those responsible will be dealt with as allowed under the rules.
Personally not blaming the SAASL, but the club itself. They obviously have no control over their players or supporters. I agree with you, the SAASL will deal with it unther the current rules, but this incident and the BESA incident highlight my point. Rules need to be changed to allow SAASL to dish out lifetime bans. Am I not correct in saying that some of the BESA players are now playing with other clubs?

Same thing will happen here if the league do not act appropriately.
Wasn't the BESA incident due to a spectator? Not a player? Why punish the players if they had no involvement! This one is very different if players involved.
Best thing isnt it that the BESA group is now dispersed within the League and not concentrated at one Club. Better in my view!

I take back my comment as it was obviously misunderstood. Just to make a point i respect australia and i am glad to be here.. But ppl shouldnt generalise races thats all i was trying to say... And in my passion on the topic i became a hypocrit.. For that i apologise

not the first time theres been trouble with maiwand. few years back they were kicked out the league for violence and i was also present at a game which was abandoned due to fighting etc. i played against them 3 times this year including last week and i thought they had changed there ways but obviously no such luck. last week they were also using at least one unregistered player and seemed to have gotten away with. its a shame tbh because a number of the guys in team seem to be pretty nice dudes so im a bit surprised at this situation. surely when we keep having problem with the same club every season or so some sort of permanent action needs to be taken. its completely unacceptable and need to stop now! mind you seaford has a few hot headed lads also...

seems like sun div 4 is the mecca for idiot football teams... ie besa and maiwand.

No, I'm saying that plenty of people have complained about this club and they were suspended in 2009 and asked to re-apply with strict measures.

The club is totally at fault for what's occurred, but they shouldn't have even been in that position to start with.

All Maiwand players and officials along with all Besa players and officials should be banned and not allowed to ever register with the SAASL again.

You are a clown BCS88. Nothing to do with race, these clubs need to be kicked because of their behaviour.

This is NOT an ethnic issue, it is an issue of violence in the community. To try & excuse it as "asking for it" is a joke.

SAASL needs to introduce rules that allow them to hand out life bans to all players and officials of clubs which instigate these actions either through their players, officials or spectators. Don't tell me BESA & Maiwand didn't know they had this sort of trouble coming. The people they had hanging around made it forseeable. The reason most clubs don't have this type of trouble is because they won't tolerate people like that at their club. If as a player you're stupid enough to sign for a club like this & not transfer out straight away, you deserve to be banned too.

I'd rather ban a stack of possibly innocent people (boo hoo, they can't play a game of sport) that have one more person hospitalised.

no doubt somebody from seaford had to do something the enrage some of the maiwand guys but that absolutely no reason at all to attack players with bottles and poles. verbal shouting and so on is one thing but physical violence is completely unacceptable and there can be no excuse.

It always seems like it is either Iraqis, Afghans, albanians... WOWW HANG ON... they all come from war torn countriesss!!!!!!

I can see a 'cronulla' brewing if this keeps on going.

These albanians and iraqis can't handle a strong challenge. When i play the game if i get hit hard i get back up and congratulate the player who cleaned me up... i'll clean him back in the next challenge.

These guys moan and cry and start making threats. They are F*KING SOFT!!!! i have witnessed it first hand when i played against some of them in a friendly. They are tough in groups of 10 - 30. Unfortunately because they have witnessed atrocities at such young ages they wouldn't hesitate to use a gun or knife. That's why i hope America sinks the F*KNG Middle East with a 300 kT war head and turns it into a F*KING glass crater!

A few years ago a spectator of Adelaide Tigers pulled out a gun (although it was fake) at a SAASL game (two game suspension if i recall), measures need to be taken so it's not the real thing and someone loses a life, all to play amateur football.

The problem is not what race people are but the way they were brought up and raised. To vilify certain races as a whole makes you no better then the people who do these stupid things.

I am of Albanian background myself and you can ask anyone who has played with me or against me what kind of person I am. Don't go trashing a race when people should be judged as individuals not on what ethnicity they are.

Spot on 21JS. BCS88 is a clown and so is Dino and his "Cronulla" rant. The issue is the behavior and how acts are not acceptable anywhere. The League needs to be tough on this and stamp it out.

It may need the clubs to make a stance at the AGM

Some shocking comments are being written on this topic.

Firstly, to the injured players, spectators and who ever was injured, may you have a speedy recovery - from all at Beograd Amateurs.

Lets not jump to conclusions, let the relevant parties (culprits of this stupidity) be dealt with by the relevant authorities (police, Saasl), I strongly agree that we do not need this in our game and I hope the authorities come down hard on the culprit(s).

Lastly, lets not turn this in to another 'race, religion, where you come from issue etc..., issue.
