Fight?
Just saw on the news there was a huge fight in a game today leaving 11 people seriously injured.
Anyone know who was involved?

Brick Top: Well, where'd you lose him? He ain't a set of fucking car keys now, is he? And it ain't as if he's incon-fucking-spicuous now, is it?

Re: Fight?
Yeah they interviewed one of the Seaford guys and it appeared to have started from a dirty tackle on the pitch....
Re: Fight?
One player didn't look in great shape - being treated by ambos. Our game doesn't need this shit.

The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil!
Re: Fight?
This is complete cabernet... can't these muppets let their soccer to the talking... another club that should be banned... until next year when they come back under another name...
If the SAASL were to put a life ban on all players and officials associated with these clubs, it may send a message that this crap will not be tollerated. Clubs and players may be a bit more concerned about the actiions of their players and spectators if it could result in life bans for everyone involved. Obviously it would only be for serious incidents like this but I think it is the only way to control these issues.

Two serious incidents in one year...wonder how long it will be before The Office of Recreation and Sport instigates an official review of the SAASL

Re: Fight?
Life bans - TOO LATE. People have been hospitalised because of the negligence of SAASL.
I'm not saying they could've done anything about this incident, but if they actually followed up on complaints / incidents, then this team wouldn't even be in the league anymore.

Re: Fight?
The SAASL seem to love the grants they receive from helping settle these refugee sides.....The money seems to be the important thing.
Re: Fight?
farrrrken jokers kick them out and again they should never be allowed to return?
Was there an incident leading up to the goalie being king hit?
Hopefully the goalie is ok & recovers from this incident along with any other people who were caught up in this thuggery

Re: Fight?
A MAN has serious head injuries and more than a dozen others have cuts and bruises from a brawl between soccer players and supporters at North Adelaide.

Re: Fight?
I am probably wrong but dont these people flee their country to escape from the violence? If so why bring it to a game of soccer :? :? :?
Re: Fight?
SAASL taking some big hits.
Time to start earning the grant money instead of taking the lenient approach and collecting the cash.
The issues have always been there but they're surfacing in a big big way now in the mainstream media.

Re: Fight?
Soccer is a passionate sport but these wankers make it a violent spectators sport, no matter what happens on the field spectators should just be that " spectators ". If you want to fight go to fight club.
Re: Fight?
Some of you guys have no idea what your talking about.
How can you blame the SAASL for some idiots who cant control themselves.
If your Clubs have had problems with this club before, how many have formally reported it to the SAASL - unfair to come on here and make these allegations behind an anonymous name.
With around 100 clubs, say 4000-4500 players, maybe 180-200 fixtures and possibly 10,000 spectators per weekend - one terrible incident - please correctly put into proper context.
Consider what happens in the general community on a Friday or Saturday night, drunken brawls, people being assaulted etc. - serious injuries, visit the RAH on one of these nights.
The media loves this sort of news. Don't give the media ammunition through this forum by making unsubstantiated and wild remarks.
Every part of the Australian community is asked to help new arrivals be accepted and to be assimilated into our everyday Australian life.
This is an extreme and terrible thing for the poor people injured, terrible for our game.
I know the guys at the SAASL will be shattered, but they will investigate this brawl and those responsible will be dealt with as allowed under the rules.

Re: Fight?
Well done in bringing up something from March 2009. A bit of a stretch!
My point is still the same. If there were problems this year, Clubs should have made an official report to the SAASL this year!
Re: Fight?
Shows previous form. They were also known under a different name prior to Maiwand, and changed due to a violent incident.
If the league had acted appropriately, blokes wouldn't be in hospital.

Re: Fight?
Personally not blaming the SAASL, but the club itself. They obviously have no control over their players or supporters. I agree with you, the SAASL will deal with it unther the current rules, but this incident and the BESA incident highlight my point. Rules need to be changed to allow SAASL to dish out lifetime bans. Am I not correct in saying that some of the BESA players are now playing with other clubs?brutus01 wrote:Some of you guys have no idea what your talking about.

Same thing will happen here if the league do not act appropriately.
