Haven't lost any speed... probably even quicker, just lost a bit of agility, thus I doubt I could take on 5 Knight players a time and score, like the old days.

Surely you cannot be quicker, that's pure garb mate. Don't kid yourself Joey, you never had agility, just flexibility. Your theatrical dives would even make Grosso proud and make Nani look like a complete twat

As for your goals v Sthn Knights, even I will attest to those. They looked more like witches hats than people everytime you took them on. That goal u scored at Trinity Gdns was straight from the Maradona 86 WC text book, the only difference being Maradiego is Argentinian and you are Greek

BUMP *
Club reunion this weekend. Make sure you save me a chicken wing.
Ps update for those who care how my new team in Melbourne is going. Firstly exact same colours as raptors (talk about my commitment) - also all decked out in adidas this year so probably exactly the same uniform - but I digress. Top of the table, won 7 in-a-row, Boffa league top scorer, getting my photo in the paper, no biggie. Haha miss u blokes

would be a shame to see one or both teams go down (dont think that can happen though) - but it'll be a fierce contest at Raptor Park on sunday
and yes, the rivalry would be dearly missed if one club were to get relegated

Re: Raptors Pre season
Mate could of fooled me, the keeper we played against was very good i though and kept the results down on both occasions making some great saves, also the raptors do not have the worst goals against in the league and the goal difference is up there.. They definitely were a good side when we played them and dont think they should have gone downadelaide man wrote:maxin in the shade wrote:well its down to Div 3 for ISC Raptors for season 2012

Re: Raptors Pre season
Adelaide Man,
You obviously have some issues with the club, I am not sure if your just an ex-player that probably thought he was better than he actually was and didnt get a chance in the first team or just an absolute tool that didnt fit in at the club...judging by some of your comments this year I am thinking the latter.
We probably shouldnt have been relegated this year but unfortunately we drew way too many games and this will usually come back to bite. I can think of so many occasions where we should have come away with the 3 points and only ended up with 1. Inconsistency was the issue. We have won twice against the premiers and taken points away from inter but unfortunately when it came to the lower placed sides we seemed to struggle and throw away match winning leads. Depth may have also been a problem and it probably isnt a good sign when you go through 4 different goal keepers in a year.
Anyway, the club is now looking forward to our pub crawl being held this Saturday which will closely be followed by our presentation night, we will then focus on the season to come and will hopefully be back in Div 2 the year. Thanks to all of clubs we played this year, there were certainly some very tough games.

Bad luck guys. Like Holiday said - too many draws.
Anyway I'm sure that next year we'll bounce back and continue our push into div 1.

Re: Raptors Pre season
Very saddened to hear of the Raptors fall from Div 2. After a few so close yet so far attempts at Promotion not too long ago, the fact the team succumbed the way it did is heartbreaking. Some of those leads that turned to draws and even defeats have come back to bite a proud club in the butt. BUT, a proud club never lies down and me thinks there is still another year or 2 left in some of the Raptor legends like the Captain Kouzaps, the Matern brothers, Zan, Petrou (depending on his knee???) and the like.
So im putting forward a motion that asks for all these players to hang around for 1 more season so we can get the club back to where it belongs at the very least which is Div 2. I will endeavor to work around my commitments at Olympic to make myself available for Sundays at least to help the promotion cause. Hopefully the club will appoint a coach in due course that will also attract a few new players to help aid us old fellas and with our experience and their fresh legs, there is no reason why we cannot get the club back into Div 2!!! Whose in???

I take it Jim is no longer required / or he decided time to go!
I am sure given the right group of individuals Jim would be an excellent coach.

Re: Raptors Pre season
I believe Jim has signalled his intention to move on as a coach and he will be sorely missed. Some of our younger players have benefited from having him as coach and I believe that it may be a one step back, 2 step forward result for the club as a result of his input.
He inherited a player list that had been decimated by retirements, loss of players to premier leagues & injuries and developed a team using alot of youngsters and a couple of us older guys that decided to delay retirement for another year to help out. Whoever takes over as coach will benefit from his reign at the club and the work he has done with the young guys. Had we finished off our games when we had match winning leads we could have been pushing for promotion, unfortunately there wasnt enough experience in the team to hold these leads.
Going to miss the banter on the park Matty, you were always pretty good at it!
