Div 4 result is a bit strange, how does a team who hasnt won a game and only scored 6 goals according to the league tables, win 11-5 ?

Seems whenever there are clubs who have more then one team, you get lopsided results occassionally. Maybe Flames div 3+4 teams went to the wrong grounds, accidentally of course ?

I'm shocked about that result too General, where were the GK's!!!!
Might have to keep an eye out for which players are added to the Div 4 squad list on SportingPulse this week

It was the same Flames players as normal in Div 4, they have been steadily improving all season. However, Uni SA did only have 10 players for the whole match.

I agree pvfc, great win for Fulham. Sturt were a bit disappointing I heard, but they are not easy to beat and Fulham did very well. Good injection of confidence for them! Now though they have Metro and Cumby in a row...very hard games. If they want an opportunity to show what they can do...there you go! I think Metro are too strong though. If they want a result this Sunday, Fulham really have to come up with "something"...

You cant be serious King Elijah ? I still think the div 3 and 4 teams went to the wrong grounds. ( Seymour and Unisa grounds are only 15 minutes apart ? )
How do you explain your div 3 side having some good results, only losing 4-1 to Seymour in the first round, and then a 13-1 last week ?

And for your div 4 side to double its season goal tally in just one game ? Improvement ? maybe that is what the girls have led you to believe, and maybe the rules allow you to switch complete teams,or, is the same team playing both divisions now ?

I don't know anything about the other flinders teams (where they play, results.etc) and TBH, don't really care. It is my fiance who plays in that side and I have watched them pretty much every game this season. They have been steadily improving as the year has gone on and were due for a win at some point (although the result was unexpectedly large). I know the club has been short on players with some players playing in more than 1 team on a weekend (I think a few of the girls went to the Div5 game afterwards but dont know if they played) but from the squad that played against UniSA there was only 1 player that i did not recognise.

The defending on both sides wasn't particularly good and UniSA only had 10 players. I was surprised as anyone with the result with the first goal being scored within the first few minutes.

I know it may look like a weird result but essentially you are claiming that they cheated/switched teams in order to win which is completely untrue. I mean, what would be the point? It's not like there is a premiership up for grabs or anything they are sitting near the bottom with no wins (1 now) and a few draws.

Sorry mate, wasnt implying they cheated, the rules allow free movememt of players between divisions, seems like most clubs utilise that rule. My daughter plays in the team, and the guy who helps to look after the team apparently use to coach Flinders, and he never made any excuses or complained, just told his players they were beaten by a better team on the day. I had a quiet chat with him after the game, just made a comment in conversation that there were 3 players that didnt play last time, maybe I took that in the wrong context.
He even went up to the Flinders coach and congratulated him for the great job he is doing with the girls.
I agree that the defending was poor, having only 10 players in conditions like that didnt help. Maybe if our girls started with the same structure as they played in the second half, may have been different, hindsight is a wonderful thing, good luck in the remaining games .

Yeah, no problems. Sergio (the UniSA coach on the day) is a good guy. He used to coach the Flinders womens team a few years ago and coached a Flinders mens team last year.

Agree the conditions were not great and the UniSA players did do quite well particularly for the start of second half. I think it got back to 6-4 at one stage, I was getting a bit worried!

One of the girls who scored a hattrick came from div 5, one is the div 5 goal keeper who plays on the field for div 4 and the other a regular div 4 player, No stacking no moved players down nothing this was a genuine win. As someone said I believe uni short but no extras from Div 3.
I know they have been working hard at training to improve. Remember the weather was sh*t so this would have also brought the teams closer together and the pitch was muddy.

Sometimese miricles can happen. lol

Unisa were played off the park. They had 5 chances and scored 5 goals, only 1 of those goals were of any quality (conditions helped aided there other 4). The quality of goals and performance by flames was exceptional.

If you look at the team stats and compare it to the weeks teamsheet you will see that the girls named have been playing for the div 4 team mostly and helping out the div 5's when they are short.

http://www.sportingpulse.com/team_info. ... 83&a=STATS

And for the record flames only had 12 players... so a terrific performance in tough conditions

fair enough, a nuetral observer would look at the results from the previous round, with the div 3 side conceding 9 more goals then last time,it does make one wonder what happened ? Good luck for the reminder of the season.
