Is it possible for Pontians to knock Gardens off or is that it now.

Not that I think Pontians will, Gardens have only lost once all year, hard to see them dropping many points now.

as a neutral supporter, very well played game by the gardens,
and now can see why they are sitting top.

when gardens scored their second, i thought what a goal by this old bloke that came on.
then later realised it was Daniel Riding

all the best to both teams for the remaider of the year!

Well done Gardens, we wern't good enough yesterday, Stammy was fantastic, Pauley had way too much time, and you blokes
defended really well, again well done gardens. Bwooksey I still reckon that you're a bit of a squirter, who lacks personality,
and a very low IQ (means you're dumb) the B is silent so you dont pronounce it.
At the end of the day it was a good hard fought game and good to catch up with a few of the gardens boys for a beer afterwards, thats what amateur sport is about, the " people you meet & the friends you make "

Brilliant team effort yesterday pretty well every Gardens player beat their opponent. Stammy wanted to play this game & can see why making the trip back in the morning denying Day 2 opportunities in the first half from free kicks other than that Tapey had Days measure most of the game. Our defenders were very solid contesting every challenge & midfield worked tirelessly all game led by Pauly who scored the first goal from a deflected free kick in the first half. Very physical game as you'd expect from the Downs but Gardens played better soccer in the end and also enjoyed the Brooksy & Morrison contest. The highlight came in the dying minutes of the game when Daniel Riding came on & scored an absolute thunderbolt with his first touch in front of the silenced Downs faithful behind the goals. All the best to the Downs thanks for being humble in defeat all the best for the remainder of the season & even though the league is no longer in their grasp they wont lie down easy.

Legga I wouldve liked to of come over & said gday & had a beer but dont know what you look like someone said to look for a bloke with a pointy beard so I was looking for someone resembling Cat Weasel but all I could see was your #11 so maybe next time.

Fantastic game in the reserves as well Downs getting the winner in the end which was disappointing for Matty because I thought he had a great game in goals but Gardens failed to find the net with plenty of chances.

As Geezer said amateur soccer was also a winner yesterday & nice to have a beer together in the club after the game.

Onto the Farmers this week at home which will be a big contest for both reserves & first team and after yesterdays performance it will be an interesting time at the selection table with a few first team players back & vying for a spot.

I may be wrong, but that's not the type of gibberish you would expect from an FFSA Hall of Famer.
Then again, I could be wrong.

Prince Nuggett wrote:Was at the game today and completely neutral, but if you were a Downs supporter you would be shattered that you couldn't exploit a 10 man Garens side on your home deck. If only the Downs had some quality on their left side in the second half, the result could have been different. At least half a dozen good opportunities came down that side in the second half, but all of them wasted.

P.S. Cracking finish by the late Gardens sub!!
It is one of those unexplainable mysteries that happens at all levels of the game, when a team is reduced to 10 players during a game, seems like those 10 players just automatically know without instruction, that they have to work harder. The other team they just mentally relax a little bit, sometimes without even becoming aware of it, take the foot ever so slightly of the pedal.

Yet starting a game with only 10 players,is different again, when your 11th player arrives, seems to unsettle the side for a while. ( IMO )

They do say some males mature later on in life. Your family must be very proud.

It is probably better for some people's reputations if they never post on this forum.
