Cumby U17's play Hills at Hills on Thursday night and KO is 7:15 so I would imagine, because many of the Div 1's work as well, that it wouldn't be any earlier than that.

Stirling won 5-0 vs Cumberland last night. Stirling was the expected winner but Cumby did play quite well in their own right and were lucky not to get 1 or 2 in themselves.

No ref rocked up... Typical!!

Cumberland United v Adelaide City - AC TOO Strong
Adelaide Olympic v Sturt Marion - Sturt no chance

Division 1/2 Cup - Semi Finals – Sunday 17 July 2011

MUWFC Magic Div 1 v Stirling Div 1 - MU for sure

Division 3/4/5 Cup - Round 3 – 17 July 2011

Seymour Div 3 v NAB Div 3 - Seymour could win more likely to be NAB
Flinders Flames Div 3 v Para Hills United Div 5 - Flinders maybe?? depends if they play enuf State team girls

Adelaide Uni Div 4 v Elizabeth Vale Div 3[/quote] - Vale, but wont make the final this time.
He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right.

Underdogs???
If Cumberland don't deliver today their season will be a joke (in a way - it already is. So much criticism and poor performances vs much "lesser teams").
They have to win. Tbh, even winning the cup will not be that great achievement with the team they have, but it's at least better than they are doing so far. With all their "stars", it should really be a no contest...
Saying they are underdogs makes me laugh.

Thanks #10, very insightful

I keep thinking the same though, especially after I saw the game today.

Cumberland have the strongest lineup that any club would want, but for some reason they can't deliver on expectations. Ppl say that the level in women's football is poor, but then why is it that such a star-filled team can't acheve anything? They have very strong/popular players, both young and experienced. I really don't see how they shouldn't be seen as a top team. I still reckon that anything less than winning the league is a poor effort.

Sorry if I have an opinion...but I know that parents and girls at Cumberland are unhappy with what the club did and their result speak for themselves. Today they were safely in front, but somehow they got rolled again. I saw Balomenos playing well and scoring goals, and nothing else really. And they had the advantage of going up in the first minute of the game. What more do you need to win??? :?

But yeah, I'm a moron so this must be all BS I guess :clown:

Cumby 2
A.City 5

Cumby scored from a free kick after one or two minutes (Balomenos). Then AC slowly came back and started creating some danger and was an even game in the first half. In the second half AC dominated but Cumby went 2-0 up on a counter attack. After that, AC simply lift the intensity and crushed Cumby scoring 5 goals in half an hour. Great game to watch, incredible come back from AC. They seemed to arrange their formation very well during the game while Cumby looked much more like hoping for Balomenos to do something. Balomenos scored twice and did well IMO, AC played the best football and deserved the final.

Final will be a cracker, Olympic seemed to do very well vs Sturt. Final result was 4-2 (I think - was watching more the Cumby-City game), Olympic actually seem a better team without "certain" players. They had many players n/a and obviously no more RQ, but for what I saw they deserved the final for sure.

Next week Olympic face Metro in the League and have an opportunity to get back in the title race. All odds say Metro, at this stage the best team out there, but if Olympic maintain the form you never know.

PHE vs Seaford - PHE def. had their chances to score early but Seaford took hold and dominated the game. PHE held on as well as they could and had some great passages of play. Seaford will need to pick up the sloppy play in the midfield if they want any chance against Stirling

Metro vs Stirling - Stirling as such a dominant force in the div 1 league and have a great strong team. Uninteresting game to watch with the first half both teams bunching and running around in a massive group. Stirling double teamed when ever Metro got the ball but Metro hardly seemed to get out of second gear. Game didnt have the intensity that I was hoping it would have but the conditions of the pitch certainly slowed the game too.

Olympic vs Sturt - Didn't see a lot of this game (as I was on the bench on the other pitch) but the brutality and force of the tackles between both teams was insane. Very surprised that the red card didn't come out for players from both teams.

City vs Cumberland - What an insane game!! Brilliant first goal in the opening minutes from Cumberland and the second goal was great too. I personally thought Cumberland were all over City with City hardly able to even string a few passes together. Cumberland were moving into challenges quickly and were always first to the ball and were always in the right place to intercept the very slow build ups from City. Honestly thought Cumberland had it in the bag at half-time. What a turn around from City tho!! The intensity that they lifted to was amazing and they showed why they were a major force in the premier league. Cumberland had some killer chances in the second half which were very unlucky not to go through but after the 2nd City goal they just appeared to crumble. To me they just looked unfit and could not run out the whole game?!? Number 15 in the backline (Calder maybe?) played and excellent strong game and even into the second half she stayed just as solid. Such an awesome feeling for the City girls to come back and win 5-2 but really what a demolarising and heart crushing loss for Cumberland - I heard a Cumberland player say after coming out the changerooms that the score didn't really refelct the game - not sure if I agree with that or not...

Seaford vs Stirling will be good to watch but I really think Stirling will come out on top and deservedly so.

City vs Olympic will be an absolute cracker - Go City!!

Bring on September I say!!!
