Women's football here is in a sorry state especially when participation numbers are sky rocketing The coaches involved in women’s football would not and never will get a coaching gig in any serious men’s football club in the State through to Super League. The low level mediocre crap that is dished out in the guise of coaching is astonishing. There are few people in the game that have the calibre, communication and playing history to coach successfully and I use people such as Tracy Jenkins or Sharon Black as probably the best examples of the best people for the game.
Those who call for KM and CG to be further involved in AU women’s in the new state programs in the game typify the lack of understanding about the malaise of the game in SA. Being good guys or gentlemen is not the criteria needed or looked for when strategically planning women’s football. SA’s football development programs SASI under KM and CG in state teams have not delivered. They have floundered and lurched from disaster to disaster.
Fielding SASI in the poorest boys competition as a development strategy is laughable. Watching under 14 boys beat AU women by ten goals is laughable. Watching players at the elite level that literally cannot kick a ball correctly is laughable. Witness the disaster of Adelaide United Women’s. A club based on SASI recruits and SA best did not win a game in three years and then ended up bringing in players from interstate and overseas just to grab a result which never eventuated while CG’s current under 15 state team is getting flogged continuously after seven months of preparation. At club level the influence of the players is poisonous, having players and coaches basically run clubs by being on the committee or when packs of players move from to club because their "special friend" moves is an indictment on the game.
There are so many coaches in the current system that have conned their way into women’s coaching positions simply because coaching men’s football is brutally transparent and the unsuitability and the inability to coach is soon crystallised.
When the money that is thrown at women’s football is substantial the administrators and the current pretenders must be held accountable.
SAWSA has bumbled it way along for years and now under the mantle of the FFSA it continues its downward spiral. The ideal person to head the development of women’s football must have a SUCCESSFUL coaching+ football background. Pay the money and get the best. Leave those who cannot coach in the men’s comp, where they belong, out of the game.

Re: SA the Sorry state of Womens Football
…U15’s …well when the coach’s approach at Club is bring in - prepared by someone else - just add some money - quality imports... and not focus on developing own players….sadly results at State to be expected

Keep talking like that and they’ll think that you and I are one and the same.
Not sure how long you’ve been around the game. Doesn’t matter anyway because it doesn’t take long to work out the rot that has set in.
I have been alerting all forumites (players and officials involved in the wonderful game) of Doomsday. Most doubted me.
Anyway, I agree with everything you say. EVERYTHING.
For me its too late to resurrect the situation here.
