Have to take my hat off to macron, they have come up with something even better than last years which I thought was great.

The aim ow is more marketability worldwide, something which Adidas, Nike, Puma would have had a better grip on.

Napoli have an estimated 6 million supporters worldwide, so they need to tap into that.

LFTWNG, a few good signings for Lazio, Marchetti (better than Muslera IMO), Konko, handy right back. There were anoher couple I forget now.

Any truth on Lazio sites to the Quagliarella rumour - Juve want to offload him already!!!

Was pretty cut when Muslera was going, but agree, I reckon we have upgraded. Marchetti was a gun a season or two back, had a bit of slump. Hopefully he regains the form that had him in the starting 11 for Italy.

Signign I am most happy with is Lorik Cana. Have seen him play a fewt imes in Europe, and has impressed, so hopefully that translates to Serie A.

I really hope the Quail rumour isn't true. Good player, but we already have one flashy inconsistent forward in Zarate... cannot afford to have 2. Plus with Cisse and Klose signed, I can't see him coming in unless we get some decent cash for Floccari, who looks set for Parma?

If Napoli could snag Sanchez, I couldn't seem them finishing lower than third again, permitting injuries etc. I hate to admit that  Like Lazio though, they could still do with another top class defender.

Lefty i agree,

Altough Britos should be made official tommorow, not "top class" but a good start.

For a defence of three we have - Cannavaro, Campagnaro, Ruiz, Fernandez, Britos, Grava & Aronica.

Better than last year.

Don't put the mockers on my Sanchez hopes  - we would have to sell Lavezzi which at this stage looks more likely every day and Man City look like they will meet his buy out clause of 31 million Euros. Problem for Sanchez is that we cant meet his wage demands.

Napoli have officially signed former Fiorentina midfielder Mario Alberto Santana and goalkeeper Roberto Colombo.

Santana was a free agent after his contract with the Viola expired over the summer and had a deal with Napoli some time ago, but it was only made official this evening.

The Argentine is 29 years old and has been in Italy since January 2002, playing for Venezia, Palermo, Chievo and Fiorentina.

Santana joins another former Fiorentina player who was a free agent, Marco Donadel, at the Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli also confirmed the arrival of goalkeeper Roberto Colombo from Triestina.

Britos has also signed from Bologna.

Napoli offer Manchester United €1 million to play friendly

Club chief has made United a bid, but not for a player, rather he wants a pre-season game with the Premier League champions
Napoli are willing to pay Manchester United a considerable amount of money if they accept an invite to play a friendly during the summer.

Italian club president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants his players to get some Champions League practice before they play in the tournament next season.

And De Laurentiis has confirmed he is trying to arrange a fixture with the 2011 Champions League finalists in Naples.

"I have offered Manchester United €1 million to come here and play a friendly against Napoli. I am awaiting a reply," he told the press as the club unveiled new arrival Miguel Britos.

"My aim is to have Napoli among the top teams, not just in Italy, but at international level.

"There is a lot of work to be done."

Napoli finished third in Serie A last season and have qualified for the Champions League group stages.

Not a bad little squad.

Goal – De Sanctis, Rosati, Colombo

Centre Right – Campagnaro, Grava, Rinaudo
Centre – Cannavaro, Fernandez, Campagnaro
Left – Britos, Ruiz

Right wingback – Maggio, Mannini
Defensive Mid – Donadel, Gargano
Offensive Mid – Inler, Dzemaili, Santana
Left wingback – Zuniga, Dossena

Right trequartista – Hamsik, Sosa
Left trequartista – Lavezzi, Mascara

Striker – Cavani, Mascara, Dumitru

3 players on loan which would have been nice to have, which would have filled a Def/Mid/Att role
Fabiano Santacroce
Luigi Vitale
Lorenzo Insigne

waste of money IMO
with the exchange rate, Man U will only get about 878k pounds
and id rather Napoli use that money in buying another player, tbh!

but, i can see De Laurentic thinking, he gets the Mancs to play at San Paolo, they may fill up the stadium or get 3/4 full...........

laurentis needs to find extra cash to line the pockets of Inler, Hamsik, Cavani & Lavezzi

a few one off games with generous gate takings distributed amungst our "4 tenors"

ensuring it doesnt come out of his pocket.

Inler would be Napoli's highest paid player with wages, sponsor payments and under the table cash.

Need to feed the elephants more peanuts to keep them happy.

Mastiff, Dumitru has been loaned back to Empoli.

There are rumours we will sign Lucarelli again - waste of time, better off getting Trezeguet.

Inler deal was for 12 million Euro's and he has agreed to 1.5 million a year for 5 years but retains a majority of his image rights, plus bonuses.

A. We got too many players on loan. We just loaned Vitale out to Bologna

B. Inler is on more than 1.5m

C. A lot of dodgy dealings we dont know about.

D. We are after all.......Napolitano

The wage ceiling is 2 million, thats a pretty well known fact.

Where did it say he is on more? Perhaps with bonuses and his retention of image rights it would work out more, but his base is 1.5 mil

So Dumitru has stayed... I am glad, some youth in the squad and to be fair, I thought when he came on in games last year he looked a handful.

Still need another striker. PLease give us Trezeguet as our last present De Laurentiis!!!!

Serie A WEEK 1

Napoli v Genoa - Stadio San Paolo

Gargano suspended.

Reports suggest that in defense Mazzarri will choose either Fernandez or Campagnaro to partner Cannavaro whilst Aronica will fill the void left by the injured Britos. - why Mazzarri persists with Aronica over Ruiz is beyond me (apparently a deal was agreed for Ruiz to join Valencia for 8 million which is 2 more than we initially paid but now has been canned due to Britos' injury, I would hate to lose a potential regular for Aronica who if he is not past it already, is certainly close)

A midfield made up of Maggio and Dossena on either side & the Swiss midfield paring of Dzemaili and Inler.

In attack, no surprises Lavezzi - Cavani - Hamsik. - provided Pocho doesn't get sold to Inter

- Before the end of August i would like some sort of alternate to Cavani to arrive - Chavez has arrived from San Lorenzo, but i doubt he is ready for the role although id gladly be mistaken

FORZA RAGAZZI!
