Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
Toros vs Uni game called off 5 mins into second half as uni player was injured and they were worried about spinal injury and ambulance to 40 mins to get there.,hope shes ok...was a good game in the first half both teams had there chances but uni only one to score , must say very dissapointed with the surface at Burton Park, patches on grass put in a week before that could be pulled up from the surface and netting from the grass was cut 5 mins before game,....PA system you could not hear, and the grandstand is only on half of the main pitch , you were getting wet when it was raining, the slope on the pitch is amazing as well...i just hope nobody gets injured from the surface, game will be replayed in the future

Wow! it is true......can't please everyone. Would you rather have games played at SAWSA Park? I don't think there are many other clubs who have pitches as good as Burton.John Cena wrote:Toros vs Uni game called off 5 mins into second half as uni player was injured and they were worried about spinal injury and ambulance to 40 mins to get there.,hope shes ok...was a good game in the first half both teams had there chances but uni only one to score , must say very dissapointed with the surface at Burton Park, patches on grass put in a week before that could be pulled up from the surface and netting from the grass was cut 5 mins before game,....PA system you could not hear, and the grandstand is only on half of the main pitch , you were getting wet when it was raining, the slope on the pitch is amazing as well...i just hope nobody gets injured from the surface, game will be replayed in the future
Over all, the pitch was pretty good. Yes it had some patches that will take a little longer to grow, but seriously....PA system- not there to listen to the PA system, there to watch football. Grandstand - Same set up as Coffs Harbour Staduim, 2 pitches, one grandstand placed where you can watch both games. Last night, there was only one game. If you can't see, stand by the fence? Bring and Umbrella so you dont get wet

Fair enough argument about the fields, they probably should of rescheduled the venue. In a months time or so the pitch will be fantastic and one of the best in the state as long as its looked after.

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
neits no club is going to have pitches like that cause its owned by FFSA , adelaide united were asked to use it and they knocked it back. why do you think that, if your going to build a new stadium only play on it whens its ready to be used, and DO it properly ! well thats my opinion, i dont think uni were that impressed by the pitch conditions either .

I just dont see why people always need to find the negatives in everything the ffsa try do...? Not saying they are perfect, cos we all know they arent, but they are moving in the right direction with the development of the game, providing a brand new facility...sometimes I feel like everybody wants a quick fix and they want it right now. People were complaining that burton wasnt ready, then when it gets used people are still not happy. People want SA players in the senior matildas right now, but reality is that its not gonna happen for a few years. We have players in junior and young matildas, lets focus on them.
A bit of a tangent I know, but I got it off my chest

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
as long as you feel better neits its all good...lol

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
Pitch was fine! One dodgy patch that was still playable, slant wasn't bad from a playing point of view!! Pitch is far far better than the likes of sawsa, Adelaide city our old glenunga pitch! Everyone needs to quit the bitching quite frankly I'm sick of the negativity.

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
I think a concern here is that it took 40 minutes for an ambulance to get to the ground. Is there a station close by>? Have the local ambulance co-ordinators been given maps on where the ground is? I only ask because a few years I was at an incident and the ambos did not actually know where the oval was. These guys are normally pretty good so I would flag this as a concern. Hope the player is OK and that the ground is checked thoroughly before any more matches are played.

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
Agreed that it too much too long for ambulance to arrive and the same happened yesterday when our player went down with severe knee injury and they then lay on the sidelines for over an hour waiting for the ambulance to arrive... Pity if it was a mega emergency!
As for Burton Park - Brilliant! Change rooms were lovely and grandstand seating was comfy. Couple of grass patches to fix up but nothing that a bit of time and elbow grease won't fix up. Canteen was slightly over priced but I heard the burgers were amazing!
Agreed that the pitch looks sloped when looking at it from a lower point of view like near the entry gates but when you are actually on the pitch it is superb and far out rates any of the local pitches that all the state and premier teams play on.
Would only be happy to be playing again at Burton Park and yes it might be a bit further to travel but hey for a quality venue it is still a lot shorter travelling distance than our eastern state compadres!
P.S. Surprised that Adelaide Uni were not happy with the pitch - Yeah their pitches might look ok at the moment but a couple tough running games and a few heaving showers and there precious carpet grass turns into mooshy moosh gross stuff with a manky smell!!

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
How long did it take to get Wembley right?
The slope is a bugger though if it is visible from one end then it is too much IMO.
Now if they plan on taking care of it and getting it to the level of Hindmarsh then it would be awesome, which then begs the question why didn't we just use Hindmarsh?
Also, this is sad but my kid's school grounds are even better than that but then again the schools bring in about 15,000,000 a year in fees. Maybe they should rent those out?

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
Because Hindmarsh is extremely expensive.
The ambulance service operates in much the same way as a triage. They assess what need is more pressing when combined with the staffing levels they have. Painful as it might be for the player a knee injury is nowhere near as pressing as a heart attack, road accident or similar and they'll get there as soon as they can spare the resources!

Re: FFSA Game of the Month – Premier and State Team Lists
The changerooms are very good (surprised though there was no white board)
Grandstand and function centre are excellent
The pitch should come good in a month which should see it in excellent condition for the schoolgirls tournament.
