so i can only assume bigpond that if it was your mother who passed away that you and all of those close to you would have played today. sunday division 3, one day after a sudden death you would have played????? mate, thats BS.bigpond wrote:Don't have any association with either team but to call the game off was wrong - Asteras should lose the game full stop.vspartan wrote:
Actually MB wouldn't call it a forfeit just yet!! The game was called off because of the sudden death of one of the players mothers, who also has a couple of nephews that play & is also the aunty of the president of the club and being a close nit group at Asteras it was asked if the game could be called off!! It is now up to the league to decide if the game will be played at a later date or if TTG will get the points!!
A bit harsh to call it "such poor form" if u don't know the facts!! Yes Asteras might be struggling with points on the park but aren't the type of team to forfeit cos of results!!
Condolences to those concerned but a minute silence across the grades would have been the way to go..
If Asteras couldn't cover 3 or 4 players that were affected then the club has other issues.
condolences to all the people at Asteras, good bunch of lads and certainly not the type to forfeit for no reason. TTG in my opinion should request a rematch given the circumstances. this is what shows TRUE character.....
