Yes not our best performance on a crap pitch but we did more than enough you beat what's in front of you I guess doesn't matter in the cup if it's 10-1 or 3-1
You got the win, well done....From what the Comets were saying they had a very depleted side, Swanny said the same for you guys..

Honestly a half of that was enough for me...Your number 11 though was a step above the rest out there...You guys only had a small support crew which must have been mostly forum members  [/quote]

Comets are missing 5 sparring players but still managed to stick with knights. Vipers should be hot favorites next week

who scored?
Was a pretty good game with both sides enjoying periods of dominance. Bosa really controlled the first 15-20 with some good slick passing and they scored around the 15 minute mark with a nice string of one touch passes that caught our defence napping. From memory big Aaron Sandilands (Marco?) finished the move. Para got back into the game and the last 20 was pretty even with both sides having a handful of half chances.

Second half Para came out with much more spark and were well on top early and got an equaliser on about 55 mins. We continued to press and Bosa were on the back foot but on the counter there was a defensive blunder with our player miskicking and putting it in the bottom corner. Para threw an extra man forward and it was a bit of an arm wrestle but a missed pass caused a turnover in the middle of the ground and (the captain?) Waltzed through and finished the game. Thought the Bosa CM (number 8? The one that didn't dive every three seconds) was probably best on ground.

Good luck to Bosa for the rest of the cup, they are a pretty good unit and with a bit of luck with the draw I think they are a decent chance.

thepetulantmagpie wrote:The penalty was genuine, around waist high ball into the box knocked down by the defender's forearm/hand. I was 40 metres away and it looked fairly obvious, the ref thought so too and it is his opinion that counts.
It was good, solid match to play, both teams had chances and had some good possession. The pitch was a bit disappointing, very hard and bumpy, with some groundwork (irrigation?) leaving shaved lines every 50cm or so over the entire park. Previously when we have played there it had even bounce and was fairly lush.
Yeah we've had irrigation work done. It looks much better then it did! Should be all good in a month.
Why couldn't they have ripped up the pitch during cricket season!

MSSC Blue Eagles 1-3 Salisbury Villa

Woeful refereeing. Blue Eagles down to 10 men just before half time, Villa down to 10 with 5 minutes to go.

Blue Eagles had their chances, could easily have gone to extra time if they'd bothered to exploit them.

Finished up 3-0 AET

Bosna looked a very capable side when they kept their minds on the game, particulaty the tiny midfielder and the giant one.

Certainly didn't deserve the final 3-goal gap.

Challenge Cup

Parafield Gardens 2-0 OISC

Very much a 'Barcelona vs Real Madrid' tie, Gardens had probably 70%+ of possession as Iggies sat back and attempted to soak it all up, trying to catch them on the break and with set pieces. Brooks rounded the 'keeper in injury time after Iggies committed everyone forward at a last minute free kick to give Gardens a two goal buffer.

Reserve Cup

Brahma Lodge 2-1 OISC (2)

Wasn't there but scoreline reflects well for our D Grade. Hopefully they can carry that on into the league and catch FC Adelaide.
