Liverpool 2011/12
Right, let's see if we can beat 56 pages from last year's topic....
First order of business. Jordan Henderson signed from Sunderland. Fee to be around 13m + N'gog.
Next priority a left back, winger then striker.

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
I get what you're saying, but it's not just the quality of the player that goes into valuation. It's how many years left on contract, age of player, position, etc. N'Gog for 7m is a reasonable valuation and a huge profit for us on the player.Litmanen wrote:It's pretty crazy that Carvalho is worth 8 mill, and N'gog is worth 7....

Carvalho was 31-32, N'gog is 22.Litmanen wrote:It's pretty crazy that Carvalho is worth 8 mill, and N'gog is worth 7....
Chance of Sunderland recouping part of the 7m paid for N'gog > Chance of Madrid recouping a significant portion of the 8mill.

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
Liverpool and Sunderland have agreed a deal thought to be worth about £20m for midfielder Jordan Henderson.
The 20-year-old England international will travel to Liverpool for a medical and to discuss personal terms.
"A fee has been agreed with Liverpool for Jordan Henderson and he travels to Anfield with the club's blessing," said a Sunderland statement.
Sunderland had rejected Liverpool's previous offer for the player, which was thought to be worth £16m.
The Anfield club hope a deal can be finalised before Henderson joins England's Under-21 squad on Wednesday for the European Championships.
Striker David Ngog, 22, could move in the opposite direction as part of the deal, but that is yet to be confirmed.
The Sunderland-born Henderson had a loan spell at Coventry City early in his career and signed a five-year contract at the Stadium of Light in April 2010.
He came to prominence as Steve Bruce's Black Cats made a fine start to the season and was rewarded with an England call-up by coach Fabio Capello.
He won his first full England cap in the friendly defeat by France at Wembley in November.
And even though his form dipped as Sunderland struggled in the second half of the campaign, Henderson is still regarded as one of England's brightest young prospects.
Manchester United had been regarded as the long-time favourites to sign Henderson after he made an outstanding start to last season, but their interest cooled and manager Sir Alex Ferguson has moved on to other midfield targets.
Henderson's potential acquisition fits in with Liverpool's policy under Kenny Dalglish, director of football Damien Comolli and owners Fenway Sports Group to pursue young, and preferably English, talent.
Ipswich's teenage striker Connor Wickham and Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones are also believed to be Anfield targets.
Re: Liverpool 2011/12
Apparently Jones is having a medical at United right now.
Only positive is that it's being reported by Sky, which could mean it's complete bollocks. Hope they don't get him, he's a top prospect.

Would be dissapointed if we missed out on Jones. He's a once in a generation talent.
Probs why despite having Vidic, Rio, Smalling and Evans ( ) United are desperate to get him.

WTF!!??
great business done by Liverpool, Sunderland ripping themselves off again!! Steve Bruce is making a habit of not keeping players that he should at all costs and instead "cashing in" and getting no positive results!

Would suck to lose a talent like Henderson. N'Gog is a talented lad though. He'll do well for you guys.Outlaw 2.0 wrote:WTF!!??

Is it confirmed N'gog is going the other way? I've been looking around and can't see a confirmed fee anywhere.Bow Ties Are Cool wrote:Would suck to lose a talent like Henderson. N'Gog is a talented lad though. He'll do well for you guys.Outlaw 2.0 wrote:WTF!!??

Re: Liverpool 2011/12
Unconfirmed. They are still in negotiations with him being a part of the deal. It would be a steal if we can get 5-7m for N'Gog part of this.Litmanen wrote:Is it confirmed N'gog is going the other way? If N'Gog goes, we need to find another striker or bring up pacheco.
Looks like we've missed out of Jones.
Still in the hunt for plenty more players:
Young & downing - could do with either of these. Young to man u i reckon
N'Zogbia - Apparently said he wants to go to Newcastle tho
Dann - Decent signing if it comes off, proven in PL
Gervinho & Hazard- I think we'll be very lucky to get either of these.
Brunt - sweet left peg, but no thanks
Honda
Bojan and Jefferen - dont know if either of these can cut it in the PL. Quality players tho & you never know
Doni - I think he would be a good addition.
Witsel - standard liege, would be a great addition
Perotti - would be great, but unlikely
Alonso - Long shot, but i would love to see him back.
I just cant see us competing with the top sides at the moment in terms of youngsters from abroad. We do have some very promising youngsters in the youth set up, so maybe they can start blooding them, like they have done this year. The likes of Hazard and witsel tho we are just hoping they want to come cos we are LFC.
I think its just good to see us in and around the mix for so many players early in the window. Get them in and training for a couple of months ready for round 1-10.
Re: Liverpool 2011/12
Jones was nailed on to go to United next season by all reports. Our intervention forced their hand and made them splash out a year earlier than they wanted. Apparently Henry does this a lot with the Red Sox.
Still dissapointed we missed out.
Scott Dann is next target. Liverpool boy, former season ticket holder and good age for CB. Decent option in CB rotation.

Seen Henderson play 5 - 6 times (on the box only!) and cant say he has been impressive, in fact very ordinary. But thats what you get when you buy English Talent (English and Talent being an oxymoron) very expensive players.
