Actually I remember a game about 20 years ago (the old Albany Eagles) where one of the spectators was a first timer, visiting from Melbourne. A minor scuffle broke out and he went in boots and all and eventually had to be held back by the rest of the supporters/players etc. Not saying it happened here with the Besa game but it is possible.

Well when your coach starts training with a Premier League team at least a week before he resigns as coach and then leaves the club totally, leaving them bottom, any club would consider replacements if they can bring value to their club.

yeah pretty common thing, we had a mate playing with us in div 4 for years, then went on to play with super league clubs and is still going strong.
I heard a few Besa players are at Pontian but its just second hand info.

As a neutral supporter of both clubs i though id go down to the game and watch Western Strikers play Besa and what i saw was a disgusting.

the game itself wasn't too malicious, however there were a number of yellow cards and 3 red cards (2 Besa 1 WS). the issue arose from the BESA supporters who after the game physically assaulted the referee so bad that an ambulance was required to take him to hospital. i saw his head split open and his face covered in blood.

This was the 1st post on the incident johnno states BESA supporters assaulted the referee, other witness statements say 3 or 4 BESA Supporters ran on to the ground.

Bomber I understand you had a association with the club many years ago but seriously let it go, everyone knows it wasn't a random individual who did it & the SAASL has done the exactly the right thing getting rid of them especially with there History!

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Bomber!
(Well his last comment anyway.) More violence is not the answer.

SAASL, well done for kicking them out, now just keep them out!

If we can't completely exclude them in future then pre-agreed conditions of reentry should include: massive bond; providing police presence at games; and that any further violence (including threats of violence) will result in life bans of all officials, coaches & players.

Bond is a good idea.
Police will say they have better things to do every weekend over the winter.
The last point is a good idea, and would mean they would "self police" more, ie get rid of troublemakers themselves, but I can't see it happening like that. If the league goes soft on them now, there is no deterrent. They (and anyone else in a similar position) have to know that the league will use the big stick, not just wave it around.

Violence is not the answer but u can't help to think that some of these punks need a good clip over the head to say the least, when they punched out the ref at our game a few years ago we happened to have a few supporters that day and everyone got really fking mad, we closed up the gates so they couldn't get away bcos the cops had been called so they started fighting with us, in the end we had them running over the neighbours fences!! Now I'm not boasting and I don't condone any kind of stupid behavior but it just goes to show that some clubs won't tolerate their bullshit.

I was ok until I got king hit from behind by one of their 30 odd supporters that invaded the pitch. Didn't help that Mount Barker arent the most supported club in Adelaide (most wives and kids)
