It may be pertinent to add that one of the ways to actually select the best kids is to actually observe all kids that are going around.......if anyone can work out how to do that, then that's a step in the right direction.

They also shouldn't allow parents in the training grounds and tell coaches who the parents are.

Hills are alive ... but just

TWO weekends of thrashings amid a dispute with the Blacktown association means Seven Hills soccer club may fold.

The club will meet tomorrow to discuss whether it has a future.

Parents decided on Saturday to withdraw three teams from competitions and club secretary Rebecca Taylor said the club may be left bankrupt and have to fold.

The thrashings follow a Blacktown District Soccer Association ruling that the club's teams from under-9s to U12s would all have to play in a higher age division.

The defeats have been highlighted by consecutive 16-2 and 22-0 losses suffered by an under-10 team forced to play on a full field in under-11s.

One of Seven Hills' players turned nine only on March 2.

"We were told at a meeting with the association that were were trying to poach players from other clubs to create a super team," Ms Taylor said.

"We've got the same number of teams as last year. We've just spent $7000 on uniforms and have nothing left."

She said opposing teams were ridiculing the players because of the lopsided scores.

"A goalkeeper was told 'sit down and have a coffee, there's nothing nothing for you to do. These kids are hopeless.'

Said one parent: "It's a joke, it's disgusting, it's so wrong.

"I've got a child, eight, who couldn't play.

"Some kids have good ball skills, some don't. They want to have fun. This is doing nothing for their self-esteem and then there is the child's safety."

Seven Hills' relationship with ASR Pro Football, the AS Roma-affiliated academy, is at the heart of the dispute.

Seven Hills parents are paying from $1600 for their children to be part of the coaching program, which they say is voluntary.

Blacktown secretary Jack Taylor said he was unapologetic about the association's stance.

"Last year we wrote to Seven Hills asking them not to associate with a private academy," he said.

"The association has a rule that clubs that nominate teams whom the board consider of a higher standard to that age to which they are nominated, will be nominated to a higher age group/division.

"I wrote to Seven Hills on March 12 giving them a five-day extension to appeal, but they haven't appealed."

Taylor said he had heard from individual parents but not from the club.

Seven Hills disputes this, saying they have written letters but have received no response.

He added one reason for the lopsided scores was that Seven Hills had fielded short teams because they hadn't registered players.

"In any other association, the club would have been tossed out," he said.

"It may be best that they fold."

Asked if it was right that the players were made the victims in the association's dispute with Seven Hills and ASR Pro Football, Taylor said had the club discussed it further and he believed "the association may have made a different decision.

"Everything's salvageable."

Seven Hills vice-president Nathen Coey said if the situation was not resolved, the club would consider appealing to Football NSW.

It's my opinion, there's too many dinosaurs like you that prevent the good of people or a place getting anywhere e.g. SA progressing as a state.

So if it wasn't the coaches or players fault that you thought it was boring, whose fault was it? Maybe the parents who tell their kids "don't take risks, keep it simple, let the others make mistakes and fly under the radar", just a thought

The game was a 3 x 25 minute trial, between a White City squad of about 22 players and the U14 State squad of about 20 players + 3 keepers.

Both teams used the game to try different things, which lead to a game that was more for the coaches and the players, rather than spectators.

Hopefully these are the games where the coaches should be analysing the players and team, then working on areas that have been found deficient.

I saw part of this game last night, and believe that this U14 State team is possibly the start of a new era. They play quality creative football and prove that size is not an issue when you are playing against a fair team who doesn't get heavy on their size advantage. Congratulations to the selectors for what appears to be a job well done (of course only time will tell)

14'S RESULT BETTER THAN THE STATE TEAM RESULTS
AC 14 lost to CCSC 14

CCSC 14 lost to Para Hills 14

Para Hills lost to everyone else in division

Therefore the State team are the worst team in South Australia :clown:
