There should've been at least 2 red cards in first half alone. and not yellowAL K HOLIC wrote:beskid wrote:Croydon 3 v 2 Modbury
Toros 4 v 1 Abe
4 Abe players carried of the pitch, very disappointing refereing.
Should have been some red cards.
Let's tell the whole truth Beskid, yes some bad tackles, yes terrible ref, yes kids were carried off, yes they all returned to the park (so not that injured), don't try to make it sound like the kids were put down.
Let's also remember your entire parents cheer and clap when the ref did issue a yellow card for yes a bad tackle, but parents that cheer and clap a yellow is disgraceful.
Not all returned, 2 players DIDN'T RETURN TO THE GAME and both sustained terrible injuries.
Pathetic, and all this when the FFSA is suppose to promote technical game.
I hope the club takes it further because there is no room for crap like that at any level (especially junior)
I will personally complain to the ffsa and will not allow my son to play against this team in the future.
One team came to play soccer the other to kick the shts out of the opposition.
Winning at all cost, good luck Toros. Mission accomplished.

If the side was as dirty as you claim why do they have 1 card in 6 rounds.
I saw one kid attack Toros keeper, the ref blew for a free kick against ABE, this player was also carried off, did we do that too?

I was a Mother of a child playing in this game and did not see any action by the boys that was not in the spirit of the game. A few tough tackles doesn't constitute 'kicking the shts out of the opposition' and I do take offence to this comment on behalf of the boys who I feel played fairly. Ref was poor with decision making and this seems to be agreed apon by both parties. Interesting how I have been approached by parents at another club praising our boys on their tough but fair game (I was quite touched by this as the lady said we should be proud of their sportsmanlike manner). Perhaps you are just bitter about the loss.

ABE parents should be ashamed of their behavior. I have never felt the need to comment previously but seeing the attacking comments made towards to Toros players is disgraceful.
Parents are meant to lead by example and cheering kids get cards is sure showing a great example. Well done Toros you take on the big clubs week in week out and now hold top spot on the table and have showed that you do not have to belong to these so called big clubs to play good winning soccer. Define terrible injuries, I don't remember reading any reports on the match sheets.
ABE, Coach made not one comment to the Toros coach, even told him to not worry abt the complaining parents.
This is a contact sport and yes kids get injured, but your claims are poor.
The same two teams have played 4 times in 2 years, same coaches for three of those games, they even had a trial game at the start of the year.
Birkalla - no complaints - 1 yellow, kick after play
Sth Ade - no complaints
Raiders - no complaints
Playford - praised Toros team for sportamanship and stated many other teams had disrespected them in their troubled season so far, in fact it was two weeks after ABE had played them.
Croydon - no complaints
Cup rnd 1 Strikers - no complaints
Sturt - no complaints
cup rnd 2 Para Hills - no complaints (maybe Rabbit could even confirm this)
ABE - 3 cards 3 diff players, 1 was for complaining about no free, 2 were late tackles and worthy of cards, it happens.
6 weeks of football and 2 rounds of cup games with not one post of how this team comes to kick the shiraz out of teams, yet this week they are dirty, seems odd imo and has no substance.
No ref would leave a child on the field, no matter how bad the ref is for 'terrible' injuries.

Re: Results Round 7
The issues being discussed on here, re Toros v ABE game, is primarily the result of parent/coach behaviour not the players.
Yes, refereeing decisions can make a difference, and the referee must protect the players so as to allow players to play and experiment without fear of being pulled, elbowed, kicked, etc. But if there are issues, it's up to the coach and club to inform the FFSA, not the parents and/or coach to scream it out from the side line.
Junior games are for the development of the players and the referees. Let them play.
I watched a game early yesterday morning, the kids played good football, the referee had the game under good control with good and bad decisions going both ways.
However, the officials of one of the teams did not see it that way and screamed for every decision; "come on ref", "hand ball", "penalty", "Oi ref, what about", "ref". It was ridiculous, the whole first half was just screaming at the ref with the effect slowly causing parents to get involved. In the second half the referee had a word with the coaches, which improved the game.
Behaviour like this is virtually telling the kids that the ref doesn't know his/her job, and that screaming for everything is how you play the game and get the outcome you desire.
As a Club delegate, I had to speak to the players at the end of the game and explain to them what was happening, to ignore it, don't let it affect your game and decision making, play fair and remember that the referee is doing their best and deserve our respect at all times.
We are there for player development, not our own gratification. Let the kids play their game. Adults just need to support and cheer (in a responsible manner) the players and the teams.
Remember that the referee can see the game better than you, they're on the pitch amongst most of the action. Decisions can and will go both ways in a game.

Well said, development development, this side has gone from 3rd bottom to top under new direction with a new coach, this team and staff should stand tall and proud of their development, plain and simple.
Not sure whom wrote this, but I thank you for your view.

salisbury 3 - cove 3
Great game to watch, very even. A few yellows and a few missed, even had a little push and shove, but this is a contact sport.
Well done to both sides.
