if these guys nonchalantly go about bashing refs unconscious id say they are already known to the cops and are certifiable nutcases. i doubt anyone at besa will want to dob them in as they will no doubt get the same.
this isnt a code v code war either. AFL will not be a quaint historical footnote in a few decades. get over urself.
we deserve the bad publicity from this, and i hope the saasl boot these guys out and get the guys convicted and jailed.

As for the code arguments: WHO CARES? Why give a shit what people think about the sport, I love football and mine is the only opinion I give a fuck about.

It's only a 'code argument" because the AFL supporters love to jump up and down and beat their chest if there is a 'football incident' - whilst you will always get a passionate few, on the whole AFL lacks passion and atmosphere - chanting etc I suppose scoring a 'goal' every few minutes and getting points for missing will do this to a sport

Im glad its just football that has the violence. Imagine if other sports were guilty as per attached links

Just goes to show that there is a problem with many sports especially those where exhorbitant amounts of money are paid to persons who are essentially entertainers.
Sadly just a total breakdown with a lack of respect for others or officials

more racism exists in football (soccer) and is usually a main cause of violent attacks then other sports like AFL

Don't Know..... But BESA is an Albainian word for Revenge or something along thoes lines. Maybe it was revenge against SAASL for kicking them out of the league a number of times.Aldo Serena wrote:Not that it matters, but what made the BESA supporters fire up so much?

My mail is that he had a shocker and obviously must have made some unpopular decisions against Besa. As you said, should not matter.

You've just plucked that one out your arse. Do you mean in this country? Around the world? In the professional leagues? Amongst the players or supporters? Do you have inside information re the Besa incident? Can you list a few recent racist attacks?Chelsea4thewin wrote:more racism exists in football (soccer) and is usually a main cause of violent attacks then other sports like AFL

I reckon the SAASL needs to play tough here and say that the club, directors and every registered player from the current and clubs past will be banned for life for having anything to do with the SAASL if they fail to come forwards with those who are responsible.
The SAASL also needs to redo how they accept player registrations.

The question about this BESA side that really needs to be answered by the Amateur League is why were thay allowed to come back into the league under a different name when being kicked out b4 for fighting?
We are Liverpool Football Club and the expectations are so high.

Sorry, but i think legally and morally this would be the wrong thing to do.
I wouldn't even say it's a case of grassing on your mates, Would you grass on someone if there was fear of retribution?
As much as I agree with a severe punishment, I fail to see how you can ban someone for life who may not even know who the person was. Do you know everybody who turns up at your games? There could even have been players not playing that week? Can you imagine being banned for life while you were sitting at a bbq in sydney.Blotto wrote:I understand that, I truly do. Re: OMG --- SAASL / BESA ISSUE... FRONT PAGE!
End of day, ref would have to press charges. He would then require witnesses who would be prepared to testify. I cant see either of these things occurring, meaning the SAASL has done what they can for now and that's expel the team/players etc.
The next issue is how they (SAASL) can stop this from occurring again by the same culprits. The only way is that they would need to change the process for admitting new clubs to their league (and ensuring existing clubs have complied satisfactorily during this season). They will need to re-address a code of conduct, and have rules in place about how new teams can apply and how players registrations can be better scrutinized each year.
For this to occur, be prepared to have some extra administrative headaches moving forward.

Yes, they also have the added issue of less and less teams in the lower divisions so no easy solution, every team should be required to nominate a Committee etc and if incidents like this occur no-one from the Committee should be allowed on any new team for say 5 years. There will always be ways around this, however if you make it harder some will give up.

ban the committee from being involved in any club for the next 10 years (maybe life), then ban any club from registering more than 3 players who are currently registered to Besa.
This obviously needs a complete overhaul of the registering process to be possible though.
Re: OMG --- SAASL / BESA ISSUE... FRONT PAGE!
i heard through the grape vine that SAASL have the option of only registering up to 2 of BESA's players to the same club in the future. This would be a good move and it would prevent all their players ever playing together again wich virtually means they would never form another club together. But like i said its only the grape vine and i doubt that SAASL have the balls...

Well, you already do - on the affiliation forms, you give the details of your President, Secretary and Treasurer plus your club coach. So an easy thing would be to ban these people from the SAASL - but what if another three people from the community pop up and start another club? Can you 'legally' say to those people that you can not form a new club? I think the short answer is no.Knight15 wrote:Yes, they also have the added issue of less and less teams in the lower divisions so no easy solution, every team should be required to nominate a Committee etc and if incidents like this occur no-one from the Committee should be allowed on any new team for say 5 years.
