Re: Results 21st May
I would love to hear Villa's side - if they care to comment!
Cracker game as far as SPOC should of won but could not put the ball in the back of the net! Villa had fewer chances but managed to score!
As I said, hopefully it was left on the field!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree that Sturt were the better team on the day without a doubt. They played a style of game that obviously suited their players and for some reason we failed to deal with. Cracker of a goal by Billy K put us in a deserved early lead and we should probably have got at least one more before a defensive mistake lead to the equalizer just before half time. We just didn't come out after the break. Two goals in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half knocked the wind out of our sails and we never recovered. A soft send off meant the game opened right up for Sturt who took full advantage. Only after Sturt had scored their 4th & 5th goal (and they also had someone sent off harshly) did we start to play again. We could (should) have pulled at least 2 goals back in the last 15 minutes. Taking nothing away from Sturt, who I said all played very well, it was a very poor performance by us, but one that was coming for a while now. Need to step up this week and get a good win at home against Stirlingthunder14 wrote:I think they came up against a pretty good Marion side, I'm sure they will bounce back - 5 - 1 is a pretty common score-line between these two sides that's the third time I think. I believe that also puts Sturt Marion top of the Saturday Premier.

I agree with this. I'm quite happy to do it. Certainly beats watching someone who has NFI try (some don't even try) and do it.Latics wrote:On the other hand an attempt by clubs to lift the standard of linesman (OK then - assistant referee) at club matches would also help. At the moment it seems any old player will do; many of them don't keep up with the play or are answering the phone or are drunk.

rhino the offside that he let go was nothing compared to the 1st goal he gave his team. he played the advantage and a full 2 seconds passed their player shot the ball over the bar and he decides to award a free kick which they converted but the thing that really ruffled feathers was allstars supporters abusing our linesman as soon as the game started. blind spot one thing i know about my club is cheating is not condoned there but i guess youve already made your mind up to the contrary.lets hope our next meeting is played in better spirits like our previous games as we have never had these dramas with yous beforeRhino wrote:there is only one man at that ground that would defend that overrule decision. Linesmen are also officials, and abusing them is an offense too. Don't tell me you didn't hear it, or we might as well call you deaf spot.

Yep that was the free kick he gave his brother for his boot falling off!ozriel wrote:rhino the offside that he let go was nothing compared to the 1st goal he gave his team. he played the advantage and a full 2 seconds passed their player shot the ball over the bar and he decides to award a free kick which they converted but the thing that really ruffled feathers was allstars supporters abusing our linesman as soon as the game started. blind spot one thing i know about my club is cheating is not condoned there but i guess youve already made your mind up to the contrary.lets hope our next meeting is played in better spirits like our previous games as we have never had these dramas with yous beforeRhino wrote:there is only one man at that ground that would defend that overrule decision. Re: Results 21st May
I wonder if the previous weeks cup game had any bearing on the result- you guys played what one would imagine as a comfortable victory against a div 4 Sunday team, while Sturt Marion had what appeared to be a tough competitive game, just losing to a Div 1 Sunday team in Fulham, whether because of that maybe one team may have been slightly better prepared and I am talking mentally more then physically, for last Saturday's clash.Galey wrote:Agree that Sturt were the better team on the day without a doubt. Re: Results 21st May
From what i heard - Sturt had a couple of key players out against Fulham and got them all back for the Villa game.
It was a good result for the league and this brings BOSA right back in to the race... I still think Villa are favourites and weeks like that can happen. Would imagine they will get back in the winners circle this week against Stirling. While Sturt have a difficult game away to Modbury who have found a few results and getting into form, will be interesting to see if Sturt are contenders or was it just a bad day for Villa.

From what I saw of them (at home a few weeks back) against Stirling, they looks the goods. Buckley has them playing well.Happy_Hammer wrote:While Sturt have a difficult game away to Modbury who have found a few results and getting into form, will be interesting to see if Sturt are contenders or was it just a bad day for Villa.
A good tough side who can play a bit. I severely doubt they'll win the league but they'll be up there.

I have already expressed my opinions and views on the game. You have done likewise, therefore let's leave it as it is. Let's agree to disagree and move on. There is more to life than arguing on a football forum. I hope there is no animosity between the two clubs and it was all in the spirit of the game.
Good luck for the season and see you guys in the return fixture!

Well said, I agree. Most of what I have said on this thread has been genuine banter, you'll find I have not used the word cheat, and I have only taken exception to the accusation of one of our children hurling abuse. I just don't believe it happened, and being likened to besa in another thread I let go, feeling I have ribbed you enough here! Anyway mate check your pm's! I sent you one this morning.blind_spot wrote:@God is an Englishman and @Rhino
