FC Adelaide 1 Red Blue Eagles 5
Looks like the title will come down to the Red Blue Eagles or Monarchs. Very impressed by two players in your side
Juvetino. Your striker Terry and your central midfielder, I think his name is Tom. Have they played at Federation level?

Terry Smith is the striker, ex-Joey's player or something, massive asset to the team. As for Tom, that's either Tav or Dom. Dom scored the hattrick, Tav set up like every goal, either way both played at a higher level.

 there is only one man at that ground that would defend that overrule decision. I think blind spot is a very apt name for you. And I never abused you. I said 5 yards. And then you booked me for it.
Linesmen are also officials, and abusing them is an offense too. Don't tell me you didn't hear it, or we might as well call you deaf spot.

That doesn't necessarily mean he was a cheat. I recall running the line for you against Fc Adelaide last season and one of their players resided in an offside position for the majority of the game. I think I called more offsides in that game than I have in any other. All the offside decisions may have gone in your favor doesn't necessarily mean I was cheating although the guilty culprit may have perceived it that way. He even told me he couldn't be offside because he was running sideways at the time (wtf???). Ironically he now plays for you.

Great result for the club today, with results going our way it puts us back to the top of the league. Still very tight though.

Yes he was cheating and it was requested at half time that they change their linesman ...They didn't so about 10 min to go referee told the linesman to put the flag down and leave ..As an official you should never get involved in a swearing competition with players...Linesman kept saying the ref was making his Sat the worst Sat he has ever had ???? then calling the ref a cheat, di...head, fu...head etc which was the reason why more then half the Jets team got booked ...mostly for bad mouthing ...I remember that game very well Bodo ..that was a quite a funny explanation from him ...he did not play in this game though ...

God is an Englishman wrote:you may have a qualified ref, but i very much doubt that was him. He had very little understanding of the LOTG and was clearly a cheat.

My favourite parts were threatening to send off spectators, no action when he clearly saw africa players striking, not being even close to play, taking decisions from a lino on the phone.

The only conclusion to draw is he's an incompetent cheat.
The same ref did whole of last year home games and this years home games for the B's ...just so you know ..Then again you lot know better and your players should prob referee and play in the same time ... cos they know better ... you see if your team would just shut the hell up and play they would have won by even more goals .. the result was never in doubt ... you guys were going to win the reserves game anyway ...and you did by 3 goals difference which just shows that the ref was not a cheat ... otherwise things could have been different so you clearly have no point... but you have the biggest mouths ever ...Even in the A's game your spectators/bench players were warned by the A's referee for excessive abusive language and told to shut the hell up ... so there you have it ...get on with the game ..trying to intimidate the ref is not cool ...
ps. If you decide to go and support your team in an away game how about you clean up after yourselves too or do you leave the same mess in your house ????ohh and tell your spectators to stay behind the second white line ..crossing the sidelines is not on ...

So africa players abuse linesman, he answers back and the linesman is removed.

Meanwhile africa linesman speaking and texting his mates. Was he even spoken to, let alone removed.

Over-ruling linesmen when he was 50 yards behind play. Booking jets players for minor fouls, while africa player just gets spoke to for striking.

Oh and as for drunk b's players - must have been some booze up to get drunk in 90 minutes.

When did jets spectators cross the side line?

Bottom line is you are trying to deflect because you know the ref is a cheat.

Hey did Damo Dave and Rick play
Yeh.

A's Budapest 4-2 USC Lion
B's Budapest 2-3 USC Lion
Great game between two clubs that share a long rivalry.

Budapest were up 1-0 early then looked like the game was going to go Lions way when they were up 2-1 well into the second half - a screamer of "right foot" goal by Zeljko Popovic made it 2-2 and turned the game -then Budapest ran away with it winning 4-2 in the end.

B's Budapest were all over Lion first half but couldnt put the goals away.. Lion dominated during the later part of the game and got the win.

Was good after game with a few of the Lion players and supporters hanging around as there are a few connections between the clubs.

Thats weird, having played both those reserves teams for the past 3 years I've never known them to be violent enough to break out a fight.

Well there have been a few Puma's not happy with our club ref but nobody's thrown a punch over it

blind_spot wrote:OK ..if you want to go down that pathway then here it comes...
How about your players in the B's who are the biggest wingers in the game, kicking players when the referee is now looking or after they release the ball, every call is a wrong call if they don't get their way, swearing at the referee, your linesman calling the opposition players di...heads etc . And let's not go into your so called spectators who were abusing everyone at any given chance ... If you drink and come to have some fun, keep it under control ... I personally saw and heard a 12-13 years old kid who was sitting between his parents, calling to one of our supporters that he f...k his mother ???? then if violence occurs you always blame the African animals who can't take some banter?? even your drunk B players man handled one of our subs in the A's game ... As far as I am concerned the referee issue should be your last concern ... If you choose a linesman who was drinking beer, abusing opposition players and cheating then what chance you have that the referee will take him seriously !!! Play the ball, not the man!! Thats the idea!
As promised a response to this on monday morning. If they were "kicking players when the referee is now looking" and he didn't send any of them off then it just adds weight to his incompetence.

I saw 2 kids at the game who could have matched this description. One of them is one of the politest kids I've ever met (and stood with his father who would certainly not have tolerated such a comment) and the other was stood with his father (a copper) all game. I can only imagine you took lessons from the ref and made this up.

The linesman had his first beer in the last 10 minutes of the B's game, after he had been relieved of his duties. He did not have any alcohol prior to that moment.

Our drunk B's players - what were they drinking - pure ethanol. They only had 90 minutes, how did they get drunk that quickly?

On the other side, a linesman making decision whist on the phone and texting his mates and a ref who was never even close to play. Prime example was a ref over ruling an in line linesman while 50 yards away behind play.

Not sure that happened, unless it was well after the game after I'd left. There was a melee during the game instigated by Villa in which several Villa players were throwing punches, police were called at the refs request to due threats coming from the Villa sideline. Ref should of just called the game off after that IMO as he was clearly intimidated by the Villa crowd effecting his performance from then on. It's not surprising though considering their coach was condoning the punches when talking to the ref after the game.

Not a good look with cops being called to a 2nd amateur game in a week. Wonder if the Advertiser will get hold of this one!!

What is with all the angst here guys... Seriously.

The Div 7 game between Stirling and Titans got pretty heated in the 2nd half but once the whistle had gone, everyone was shaking hands and having a chat. The Titans players who had a problem with 1 of the Stirling players all went looking for him after the whistle to shake his hand and clear the air. Thought it was extremely classy of the Titans guys to do the right thing and leave the crap on the pitch.

After all the crap that has gone of in the Amateurs of late, there should be more of what happened above.

I shake hand with players and refs after every game I play and I think most players do, no matter what has gone on on the pitch.

I think they came up against a pretty good Marion side, I'm sure they will bounce back - 5 - 1 is a pretty common score-line between these two sides that's the third time I think. It's now 2 - 1 in the 5 - 1's to Marion.

I believe that also puts Sturt Marion top of the Saturday Premier.

The problems with all the fighting/arguing on the pitch by the players are:
1. that it inflames the supporters which is one reason why the FA in England and FIFA came down on it really hard when violence was very common at football matches. They started to really punish players that did it against opponents or referees and sure enough the level of violence by spectators dropped.

2. There are a number of children that come to these games. What kind of an example are these players setting for them. Never mind the fright they give them - I saw one kid in tears after one player lost it so badly he had to have 3 players from his own team hold him back

3. Some players bitterly complain that home ground referees are biased. There is no chance of attracting enough referees to ref B grade matches given the standard level of abuse handed out every game to every referee.

On the other hand an attempt by clubs to lift the standard of linesman (OK then - assistant referee) at club matches would also help. At the moment it seems any old player will do; many of them don't keep up with the play or are answering the phone or are drunk.

Good post, I think I can count on one hand the amount of sides I have played/watched that don't b1tch and whine throughout a game about being on the wrong end of decisions....That includes my club....

I too get frustrated with blatant poor decisions but questioning every blow or non blow of the whistle drives me mad.

Surely if the referee requested that the police be called, he would of abandoned the game once they arrived and left with them! Did they come and stay for the rest of the match? The officials safety is paramount! If they feel that intimidated at any point either by the spectators or the players and requested that the police be called, surely after recent incidents they would call the game off and be escorted from the ground (by the police once they arrived)!

I think this incident is being over dramatised by a SPOC supporter/player!

What happened for the melee to be instigated? And if several Villa players were throwing punches what were the SPOC players doing - standing there taking them?

There are always 2 sides to every story, hopefully the players from both sides shook hands at the end of the game and walked away from what i heard was cracker of a game!

As I said I think the Ref should have called the game off. Coppers stayed for 10 mins, talked to the ref and Villa sideline. Said they didn't have time to stay and watch a game of football and left.

I think this incident is being over dramatised by a SPOC supporter/player!

Not dramatised at all. I'm quite sure the refs report would confirm everything I've said.

What happened for the melee to be instigated? And if several Villa players were throwing punches what were the SPOC players doing - standing there taking them?

A dodgy tackle followed by a "make up" 1 shortly after, one Villa player rushes in from a distance and starts the melee. There was plenty of pushing and shoving etc , only 1 team throwing punches. 2 Villa players sent off for punching (lucky it was only 2), SPOC player sent off for his tackle.

There are always 2 sides to every story, hopefully the players from both sides shook hands at the end of the game and walked away from what i heard was cracker of a game!

You heard wrong, was a very ordinary game..... Would love to hear Villa's side of the story would be quite interesting I'm sure.[/quote]
