I couldn't believe when I heard Ingle Farm had lost, they did play well against the GARDENS but to lose to a Div.3 Club In the Cup they would be very disappointed...

Congratulations to the Blue Eagles what a unbelievable result & exactly why we shouldn't mess with the Challenge Cup format...

Well Done Jay it's hard for a Club to report a bad loss but all credit to you & your Club for putting your hand up, unlike some Clubs who just go missing when they lose & are happy to gloat on here over there Wins ...

Its a very difficult game this week having to travel to Underdown Park to face a Rested & Rejuvenated Florina good luck to all ....

Really disappointing game for us. Sloppy was the best way to describe it. Missed easy passes, didn't take easy chances and at times, we only seemed interested when we conceeded. Credit to Blue Eagles. They played one up front, got numbers behind the ball and were happy for us to have possesion. They took their opportunities and executed their plan well. We simply didn't open them up enough to create more chances, turned the ball over when there wasn't much pressure on and didn't shut them down quickly enough. The most disappointing thing is that we played very well against Gardens who are the bench mark and should have got something from that performance. It gave me the feeling that our season was going to turn around and it was something we can build from. Can't use the excuse of having players out like last year as only one was missing.

The commitment is still there, the ability is still there, its now time for everyone, everyone including me, to stand up and be counted. Back to the drawing board but I expect that this week will define what we are about as a group of players, a coaching staff and a committee.

On the plus side, the B's had a fantastic 3-2 win over a stacked St. Peters side. Mark Bromley scored the winner with 4 minutes to go to put us into the next round. The B's cup form of the last 5 years continues. Maybe its time for me to try to start running in case we make another final and I try for another bench place

Looking forward to Sunday's game!
your reserves side looked quite strong as well jay

Noarlunga (1) VS Elizabeth Vale (3)

I have nothing but good things to say about the game yesterday desipite the fact we didnt come out with a win.

Noarlunga were 1 nil up about 20 odd minutes into the first half which massively boosted our confidence against a much higher div team. 1-1 at half time.

Vale magaed to get 2 quick goals with about 15 min left in the second to secure the win.

We were expecting to get pumped but our boys played the best we have played all season and in a game where we were playing a much tougher opponent.

There were no incidents during the game, i think only one yellow card handed out for a minor tackle. The Vale boys are a good bunch of blokes and were good to have a chat with before and after the game.

A good day had by all and we would be very happy to welcome the Vale boys back if the opporuntity ever presents itself.
Agree, it was a good game to be involved with. Thought the Noarlunga lads played very well and were probably unlucky not to have scored 1 or 2 more. Saying that, we could have scored a handfull more ourselves. We were all very impressed by the young lad you had playing out wide. Plenty or pace, quick feet and wasn't worried about his lack of size.

Good luck for the rest of the year.
Yeah both teams could have scored a couple more if things went a little different.

Yeah hes a great player. As i was saying to a couple of your guys on the bench while i was running the line in the second half i am yet to see anyone beat him for speed. He is hard and fair on the ball and doesnt back out of challenges despite his obvious size disadvantage.

Have to admit, this year I had lost a bit of interest and passion but Sunday was a turning point for me. After a few SMS from a fellow formite and a big think, I'm back on the bandwagon. Rejuvenated and ready. Pride, Passion and Positivity, buzz words but that will be the reaction this week.

All those guys that played have played Ressies this year. Tobes, Hughesy, Ricky and Troy are on the fringes of the first team. We still have Marty Lara, Eggers and potentially one first teamer to come in.

You should be a spin doctor Jay. St peters reserves were not stacked. Not one of the players that played against the farm have started a first team game in four weeks. The only reason your reserves are always good in the cup is because your coach plays favourites and doesn't pick his best team because of personality. Hence the crap first team result. Time to go me thinks.

Daniel Oliver is a ressies player?? I wasn't there but heard there were a few first teamers, maybe they were from previous years.

As for our coach picking favourites, wtf? That makes no sense at all! If he had favourites, they would be playing first team, not ressies. Last year was the first time we had first team players available to play with the exception on one player when we won our second cup. I remember our B's beating Adelaide Villa's B's who had quite a few first teamers available. My final point, or nail in the coffin to your post, is if our coach does this, how have we won 2 Reserves titles in the last 3 years?

More spin. What I meant is he doesn't pick his best first team therefore the ressies are stronger.

6 if my memory serves me well Jay and yes it was a true farm reserves side with actually 2 regular starters missing, the Lara boys.
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil! :-)

In 2006 when Ingle Farm reserves won the 2nd Div. championship, we won the reserve cup beating the Downs 2-0 in the final without a single 1st team player.

What spin?? Would love to know who is playing ressies that should be in the first team. No first teamers want to play ressies either, everyone pushes to be in the first team just like at every club.

As for Oliver, appartently he's only been coming off the bench for your A's so I'll apologise for that. It wasn't meant to be a dig, if players are available then they should play.

Even game with both teams having several good chances to break deadlock. Fulham scoring in a 1 on 1 with keeper that left him wrong-footed at around 80 min mark.
Congrats to Fulham, all the best with the cup and for the rest of the season. Hope the big man's injury is not as bad as first feared.
