True - SPOC (1) now have weekend off.

Looking forward to the challenge of Brahma Lodge for SPOC (2) away on Sunday!
Vikings in trouble....

Does that mean a stacked SPOC (2) side for the trip to Brahma on sunday???

I wouldn't think so... that would cup tie those players to that team. Better to take the easy win through rather than risk playing them against Brahma and possibly losing and then being cup tied

Modbury Vista 2 - 0 Croydon Cougars, again good that they made the call to give us notice they would not be playing.
So a club with an A, B & C Grade teams can't fill 2 teams?

Ridiculous.
If the system at Vikings is like last year, their C Grade runs as an independent team, separate from the first and reserves (much like USC did before they moved to saturdays).

The majority of their "C Grade" players would easily make their first team.

That's crazy.... Teams should be penalised points in the league for pulling this sort of crap.

The reason why Croydon Cougars are not playing is we have currently 7 A's players injured, so we have been playing our A's team with alot of B's players. So we do not want to risk more injuries this year. Our C's are sort of their own Entity and therefore only commit to saturday mornings. Would have been nice to participate but it just not viable.

Short answer, NO.

If you are interested in Long answer....keep reading. We do not want to forfeit any game, we sat down on Monday night and counted out exactly how many players we have available for this weekend, we had 9 available (for 2 teams) and 2 players were dubious. This then posed the question if we were to get another couple of injuries or suspensions from this w/ends game what position would we be in for the following w/end, a league game? The club will also be fined heavily by the league for the cup forfeit which rubs salt in the wound as we are not making these decisions lightly, it's just the position we find ourselves at the moment.
As mentioned previously our C's are happy to play for our club and abide by our guidelines but are group of 11 mates who want to play together week in week out, we respect that and let them.
Along with the current shortage we have a few players away the following league game due to other commitments hence applying more pressure to keep the current available players fit. We shouldn't have to justify our decisions but I am happy to share this with you on the forum as the club right now is not where it was a couple of years ago but we will get there again. Our A's & B's will play Round 6 no matter what it takes.
We are currently working on bringing in more new players and over the next few weeks we should start seeing numerous of our injured players return.

It's only round 6 King Eric Bloodaxe???

This then posed the question if we were to get another couple of injuries or suspensions from this w/ends game what position would we be in for the following w/end, a league game?
There is another 13 League Games what your long Term Plan???

The club will also be fined heavily by the league for the cup forfeit which rubs salt in the wound as we are not making these decisions lightly, it's just the position we find ourselves at the moment.
Ever thought about the oppositions Players & Clubs who have paid Membership & Association Fee's to play???

As mentioned previously our C's are happy to play for our club and abide by our guidelines but are group of 11 mates who want to play together week in week out, we respect that and let them.
Ever thought there might be a reason why most Clubs are not in the position that you are in King Eric Bloodaxe? It might actually have something to to with having 3 Teams Players to call on!
This bunch of mates who wear your playing strip & use your facilities they would surely help out your club for a few weeks? Most would still be playing together anyway! If not may-be you should think about getting your own C-Team?

Along with the current shortage we have a few players away the following league game due to other commitments hence applying more pressure to keep the current available players fit.
Whaa Whaa

We shouldn't have to justify our decisions but I am happy to share this with you on the forum as the club right now is not where it was a couple of years ago but we will get there again.
I actually do think you have to justify to the other Clubs & Players in your Competition! And I think your right back to where you were a couple of years ago except now your in Div.2 not Div.1

Our A's & B's will play Round 6 no matter what it takes.
We are currently working on bringing in more new players and over the next few weeks we should start seeing numerous of our injured players return.
Good Luck I think your going to need it....

Ah yes, the tender touch of King Nuggett.

Best wishes to Vikings in trying to hold it all together. No-one (other than the appropriately named Nuggett) wants to see another club struggling for player numbers. Any of us might have particular clubs we hope lose badly & get relegated *cough*Hills Hawks*cough*, but its no good for anyone for a club to be unable to field a team. And I happen to agree with Vikings, we have no right to know the inner workings of their club, the info has just been offered as a sign of respect & Nuggett has slapped them for it. Pearls before swine comes to mind.

I don't think even nuggett in his quieter times would wish for the demise of another club..........right nuggett?

Correct I don't wish that for any Club OldRedbacK, all I'm saying is this isnt the 1st time Vikings have been in this situation & I hope they realize that they do need a genuine C-Grade to boost player numbers throughout the season so that this doesnt happen again.
It isn't fair on the othe Clubs & Players who pay to play 18 games...

What like your club that takes players fees and then uses them to pay mercenaries to take there spots on the park, i'm sure they are over the moon paying for the privalge of sitting on a bench
