If I was in charge of that club I would take examples and gain insight to how teams like vipers, old ignations and so on. I'm afraid that this won't be the first occasion and I fear other teams that only have A's and B's may fall down that road. Hopefully the leagues continue to produce a great standard and more new clubs get involved.
Sorry mate would have to disagree........from what i've see so far this season.......... a massive gap between the 2 divisions.

Remember playing for Villa in 2008 when we won promotion (from Div 2) that was a very good league full of class!!, it took us till the last week to seal it. Div 2 this season quality wise from what i have seen has been very poor........IMO, not one of any of the sides i have seen would get close to any Div 1 side.
Pre season comets played adel villa an sturt Marion. Don't think we lost either game
Ehhh... Yup, you did. Sturt Marion won a close one 1-0. Take your point though. Neither side at full strength, and it was a close game.

Ok. That's why I said I think. Wasn't 100% sure. But I don't agree that their is a massive gap between divs. But each to their own I say

WTF??
Yep disgraceful 6 players available forfeiting next week aswell
what about some B players putting their hand up to help the A's out - some play, some sit on the bench, bring the subs on HT ( swap B players around ) ? I hear people say, "might get thrashed" if we do that, yeah, and you might not !
Anyway it is not about what the score might be ,it is about putting a team out on the park every week regardless.
In the early days of the SAASL,if ever clubs were short of players would grab just about anyone, always some B players who would want to play, committee, people off the street, someone walking their dog, to field a team - offer them a free beer afterwards...you did whatever you could.
Funny part was some of then turned out not bad players.

I am sure there are others on this forum who would have done the same.

Totally agree with your first point, I would never let my club forfeit a fixture.

I know there's a league rule that says you can't play a Reserve Cup fixture, and forfeit the Challenge Cup, so surely there should be a similar rule for the league.

I don't really want to say too much because a lot has been said, however us (Uni players) didn't find out they had forfeited until we were changed and ready to go warm up.

To wait until less than an hour before kick off and call the game off was disrespectful towards us and the competition.

I know at our club this year we started with 7 in a C grade game rather than forfeit due to the embaressment of inviting someone to a game and not showing up. We even had a starting first team player pull on the boots for the start of the game even though he had a game later in the day.

You would really have to wonder why you would bother with a club like that and some of your team mates who would be prepared to let you down.

Extremely poor form by Lion - very unfair for Uni and those team who have been hammered by Uni :(

When Budapest played Uni in round 1, 7 starting A's were out these spots were filled in by B team players .. still played the game knowing it probably wouldnt have been a pretty scoreline.

Most weeks the 'A's are stocked up by 'B's who have just played a game but they still go out and play ..!!

this is why people respect clubs like budapest.i have noticed over the years your b team copping some floggings but you keep on trying.this shows spirit and character something not all clubs have but you have it in bucketfulls

Budapest only cop hidings away from home in the B's. At their ground you have to get passed Pierluigi Colina to get a result.
