Wish i could go to games like this every day.absolutely had everything a fan could hope to see. BUT! Poor form by a certain person calling out personal and morronic comments to an ex player of his club. The guy gave you 4 years service and left on good terms to move on to greener pastures. No wonder he didn,t shake your hand after the game, you f... w.. !! Beware gardens players, if you ever want to leave, they could turn on you.

Don,t expect a reply since your own club have told you to keep your big mouth shut. OH by the way have a nice day and it really was great game.

suprise suprise

was a good game to watch first 15mins was crazy and very entertaining. IMO Gardens seemed happy with the draw towards the end didnt seem like they wanted to win or they didnt have the legs in what looked like a heavy pitch due to the rain. EIther team could have walked away with the 3 points as some late chances were saved or just missed.

Just one question about the referee, does a player that has been treated have to leave the pitch or is it up to the referee to decide? something i was a little unsure on after yesterday after Foaty i believe was treated and then stayed on

Great day out and great game - a really great advertisement for the Amateur League and a crowd bigger than any at Super League games. Thanks to lefty and the boys at the Gardens for the bit of fun at half time where a few bucks were made for the Vale's charity day.

A question for the seasoned sunday watchers, Would that level of intensity be the norm, below or above average.(forget the Sat v Sun thing...an honest answer would be appreciated)..

As it was my first game watching(besides cup final last year) I was suprised at some of the tackles that were flying around.

I know if that was a Saturday ref there would have been cards galore produced....Not to mention guys on the end of these tackles getting up and shaping up.....Do the refs bend the rules to allow play to go on?

I was very surprised with the intensity and how the players would almost shrug off a bad challenge(and there were many).

I was also impressed with the numbers on the sideline and even more so with them being able to give a bit of lip supporting their side without some clown taking offense and wanting to fight......This some Sat clubs could take some lessons from.

Last question, the Downs had some very good players technically(great on the ball) so why did they continue to pump it long(especially out of defence)...That blew me away, I think they could have taken the 3 points if they didn't keep giving away the ball.

Even though the rain in the first half was a pr1ck it was a great spectacle. Congrats Gardens on a good BBQ and entertaining day.

those sort of tackles are the norm in those sort of games did think the ref may have produced a card earlier in the game but over all thought he was pretty good in those conditions...great game to watch..think the long balls were indicative of the pressure...fair result i thought

some of the worst penalty kicks ever seen. About to be dethroned Nugget and Lisbon Pussycat were the only decent kicks, though nuggets follow thru almost took out the keeper and the marquee behind him. Ended in a tie so both clubs will donate $125 to the "EVSC tackles Cancer" fund. would suggest to all clubs, take note, if the two clubs with one of the fiercest rivalries can get together for a good cause then there should be no excuses why your club cannot do likewise.

LOL what a FK'N joke Downs Gimp,
YES I stood at the Southern Goal end & gave your Downs keeper shit in the 1st half when he was down there, I called him a Moron & said he'd look better in orange than green cause then he'd look like a Ompa Lompa & told him he was going to have a sore back by the end of the day...
BOO FUK'N WHOO go get the FK'N Kleenex, it's actually hilarious getting ridiculed by the Downs for giving there Goal Keeper sh*t LOL...
Benny A is a good keeper & i thought actually kept you in the game with 2 brilliant late saves. I was going to shake Bens hand after the game but he had a cry, "what have I ever done to you Nelly? Why call me a Moron???" I tried to explain I was just trying to get into your head which I must have, but by that time tissues were required LOL...
I can't believe DOWNS GIMP that you your keeper & your Club are that Precious that you can't take Banter from opposition supporters, but can dish it any given Sunday LOL

What the- sounds like only one person crying to me. A cracking game had everything, I personally thought chicko the ref had a shocker and took the shine off a great game with some of his crap decisions but thats football. Massive crowd and the result will only make the crowd at Argy Park even bigger for then return leg. On bagging the goalies I didnt know Mr Stam had man cans.....
There is no I in team, but there is a u in suck...

If the trainer comes on to treat an injured player, then the player has to come off until allowed back onto the pitch by the ref.

Thanks to everyone that came down and watched the Gardens & Downs yesterday considering the weather. Was everything the game was built up to be a hard fought contest & very entertaining. Apart from a bit of banter that you would expect all supporters were well behaved and the BBQ & bar were kept very busy. It was great to see some good club relations with the penalty shoot out at halftime with oldredback & myself in goals going head to head to try & win it in the end but ran out of time & penalty takers. Im pretty sure it finished 2-2 so both clubs agreed to give $125 each to EVSC Tackles Cancer. Penalty takers from memory were
Gardens - 1 Doddsy, 1 Nuggett, Chemical Bro (shot looked a bit sus), Chilean Jorge & lefty
Downs - 1 Blue Moon, 1 lisbon lion, HTFAC, Vino, oldredback

Cheers to Marooned & the Downs supporters & looking forward to the return leg.

No fixing at all Lisbon Lion, Washed Up yelled at me to take it like a Leeds player so I did and that was why the kick ended up on Salisbury Highway. To make amends I had to save lefty's final one and now have aggravated the shoulder injury as a result!

I would do but I am away the majority of Saturdays with the Vipers and Sundays family day in my house.

Yesterday was one I couldn't miss after the chat in this place

Honestly the ball skill (in my opinion) was not that much better than some Sat Div 2 and most Div one clubs, it was the hardness of the tackles and lack of time on the ball that was a step or so higher.
