learn how the system works or stop commenting on things you have no idea about.
with Juve and Udinese (away) in next 2 games I'd be very worried if i were you
Re: SSC Napoli
I'm worried about the trip to Rome, since we always have a tough game there vs Lazio.
Re: SSC Napoli
My statement was factually correct. SSC Napoli went bankrupt. I prefer to call them by their non-bankrupt name, Napoli Soccer.El Matador CAVANI wrote:and then was restored, maintaining its entire history.LFTWNG11 wrote:SSC Napoli went bankrupt.El Matador CAVANI wrote:was refounded by film producer Aurelio De Laurentiis as Napoli Soccer; he restored the name to Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli in early 2006.

Juventino, I can see a draw at the Olimpico this weekend. I would happy with that as long as Udine don't come away from Florence with full points.
Napoli should secure UCL qualification with a victory over Genoa, who don't have much to play for.

Anyway pointless argument.
Will be interesting with the gemelaggio we have with Genoa - hopefully they roll over!!!
Lazio will win at home, Udinese will lose this week. Then it will be up to Lazio to secure the points against Udinese - destiny will be in their hands.
With that win, they can secure Adebayor's signature... problem is how will your supporters be having an african in their team??
Re: SSC Napoli
Last 4 games for year for Napoli
Genoa (H) - must win
Lecce (A) - should win
Inter (H) - have had the wood over the intermerda, likely draw
Juventus (A) - always a tough affair, need at least a point
hopefully Napoli can get max 6 points in the next 2 games, but like their form this year, anything is possible

You do realise we are playing Juve? Not an easy game at all. Then Udine away. We should win our last two games, but the next fortnight will decide weather we make UCL. As long as riomma dont get there and embarass Italian football again, then I will be content.
Have read the reports on interest in Ade. His wage demands will probably mean negotiations won't get out of first gear no matter if we make UCL or not.
Despite popular thinking Lazio supporters have no problems with black players on their team. Fabio Liverani, first black Italian to play for Azzuri, was owned by Lazio the time of his call up. Ousmane Dabo came back for a second spell and Mudingayi was a good player a couple of seasons back.

I wouldn't be thinking Lecce are easybeats at this stage. They have been on a decent run, beating Juve (ok, not to much of an achievement!) and Udinese at home in recent matches. Plus they will be fighting tooth and nail for those points as well.El Diego wrote:Last 4 games for year for Napoli

So u think Lazio would do much better in UCL, with current squad?
Re: SSC Napoli
Lazio's squad currently is better than riomma's. So yes. In saying that, if Lazio make UCL and don't stregthen the squad, they won't do much damage in the UCL. Same goes for Napoli Soccer.El Diego wrote:LFTWNG11 wrote: Napoli Soccer should definitely win this weekend. They will tie up UCL with a victory at home, and Genoa have nothing to play for.

Re: SSC Napoli
Good win this morning, although in all honesty could have been many more.
50 odd thousand braved the rain to watch Hamsik score another goal in the last 10 minutes of a game. I think thats 15 goals this season scored between 80th and full time.
One more win and mathematically guaranteed CL football.

Where am I stirring shit? I predicted Napoli Soccer would win on the weekend, and they did. As I said from half way through the season, they should qualify for UCL and deservadly so. They play good football on the pitch, despite having a shady bastard of a president off it, no need to get your panties in a twist.

Great result for us with Fiorentina winning.
Lets just get the three points at the Del Mare and cement 3rd and then think about second.
I'll congratulate Milan on the Scudetto now.

i can understand for bragging rights over Inter supporters but I dont know too many so who cares
thinking of Napoli in ECL gives me shivers...time to discuss who we will being in for next season?
We NEED:
- another top-line striker
- big strong experienced defender (eg Chivu or Mexes would be perfect)
- quality central midfielder (Inler no 1 priority)
our wingers are fine, with Zuniga as back up
GK is a champion
striker force is fantastic just needs a back up (and no, NOT Lucarelli and someone better than Mascara)
Central midfield is a worry, Gargano is hopeless, Pazienza is moving on, Yebda is good but we need another 1-2 CM's, with Cigarini probably coming back
dont know who we will get as a striker, but it won't be someone who demands alot of money
someone like Vucinic would be great, Fred (ex-Bordeaux) has always been mentioned but he's back in Brazil now
and in the backlines, Hernandez and Ruiz are in, Santacroce might be moved on, (too many young potential defenders) Cannavaro, Campagnaro are fine, Cribari and Aronica can get on their bike in my opinion

Gargano actually played well against Genoa so I would keep him. Cigarini to b sold to fund the move for Inler would be a good move and we only need to pay 3 million to redeem Yebda's contract. Pazienza can go, he wants 2million euro a season or something ridiculous.
Vucinic will cost too much. We have already agreed terms with Matavz from Groningen - if he is as good as the slovenians that Palermo got (Ilicic & Bacinovic) I will be very happy.
All in all if we finish 2nd or 3rd it would have exceeded all expectations prior to the season starting.

Matavz might be good but we need another striker, there was the same hype around Hoffer remember!
Pazienza might be able to get that kind of money at Milan, if he can good luck to him, I'd be happy to keep him though he's decent
Yeah Cigarini money to fund Inler will do, anything to get Inler and I'll be happy
agree with the Aronica comment, why does he think he can dribble 3-4 players all the time, so annoying!
our main problems this year have been our bench (or lack thereof), back up striker, (lucky no striker had a serious injury) adn central midfield (lucky Pazienza stepped up this year and Yebda has proven to be a good player)
eveyones thoughts re Mazzari? surely its just all media talk. Wasn't too impressed with he's interview after the Genoa game though...slightly concerned

Look, Mazzarri has done brilliant for us, but I will feel a little aggrieved if he left, but the club will be compensated.
I think the banner at the game summed it up on Saturday in the Curva B "Those who want to go, then go; those who want to stay, then stay; Otherwise it has been a great year!!".
If he goes to Juve, what will Quagliarella do??? We dont want him back!!

not enough quality if we lose Dossena or Maggio to injury, id like at least one addition, Reto Ziegler?

even with Matavz we could move on Lucarelli and bring in another

Edy Reja earned jeers from the fans after defensive midfielder Mark Bresciano replaced striker Zarate on 85 minutes.
He obviously wanted the point to keep Juventus at bay with 3 games to go.
Now lazio have 3 teams breathing down their neck for the remaining champions league playoff place.
A draw would not have been that bad considering they still have another winable game at home vs Genoa.
The battle for the fourth Champions League spot is between Lazio, Udinese, Roma and Juventus.
Tonight’s result at the Olimpico means the Biancocelesti are on 60 points, followed by Roma and Udinese on 59, then Juve on 56.
Next weekend could be absolutely decisive, as Udinese and Lazio go head-to-head at the Stadio Friuli.
In the same round, Roma welcome Serie A leaders Milan, while Juve have a home game against the practically-safe Chievo.
Week 37 will see Roma travel to Catania, Udinese visit Chievo and Juventus play Parma at the Stadio Tardini. Lazio have the only home game against Genoa.
The final round has a Juventus-Napoli battle in Turin and Lazio travel to a Lecce side that may well need a victory to stay in Serie A.
Roma welcome another relegation struggler, Sampdoria, and Udinese host Milan.

Re: SSC Napoli
Cavani and the Champions League throw a spanner in the Napoli works
Never has qualifying for the Champions League given such a large headache to a club and their President. At Napoli Aurelio De Laurentiis is the victim, as he now discovers the extent of the choices he has to make with regards to the future of his club over the next few years.
Their success this season under Coach Walter Mazzarri has been remarkable, and barring an astonishing late collapse they should finish sufficiently high enough in the table to qualify automatically for the Champions League group stages. With it comes a guaranteed €7.2m, plus €800,000 for each win and €400,000 for each draw. Add on top of that Napoli’s share of the ‘market pool’ – a sum based on a country’s TV market value – and the gate receipts for each match, and you end up with a total of around €20m (Italian clubs generally receive well over €10m each for their share of the market pool).
It is a huge financial boost for any club, let alone one that was bankrupt only seven years ago. Since then, De Laurentiis has worked wonders to make the club stable off the pitch – introducing a salary cap for the squad being the main contributor – but has also managed to build a squad that can compete towards the top of the table.
But now Edinson Cavani looks like he could throw a spanner in the works as he seeks a new contract with a higher salary. He is on €1.8m per season – the highest paid player at the club, but paling in comparison to the best players at teams around Napoli in the table. Both Cavani and his agent realise how important he is to the Partenopei, and how valuable his goals have been to the team this season, and seem to be pushing for an increase that would break the salary cap at the club.
It leaves De Laurentiis in a difficult position. Cavani knows there will be a guaranteed boost in revenue from the Champions League, and so the money would theoretically be available to give him the rise he wants. But Champions League football for Napoli is not certain each season, and even less so next year when the number of spots falls to three in Serie A. It is hard enough to compete when there are four slots, let alone with only three, and even more so with the expected rejuvenation of both Roma and Juventus for the 2010/11 campaign.
There are essentially two options – the first is to give the star player what he wants, keeping him happy and motivated for a new season. The second is to refuse the requested pay rise, stick to the financial principles and risk the player demanding a transfer away.
Option one could put the club’s financial future in jeopardy. If Champions League football is present for one season the revenues will soon fall, leaving the club with a player on an unsustainable wage, not to mention any others who may also feel they deserve a rise above the salary cap.
Option two ensures the finances are kept in order and the club will benefit immensely from the UEFA money, even if it is for one season only. At the same time, Cavani may become unsettled and Napoli may lose their best player to a club who can pay the wages he wants. Of course, their finances will be even healthier from the inevitable profit that would follow from any sale of the Uruguayan, but his absence would seriously decrease their chances of featuring in Europe’s top club competition next year.
Off-the-pitch stability vs. on-the-pitch ambition – it is a balancing act that De Laurentiis needs to get right.

I think I posted at the start of the season I would be happy with a top 6 finish but this is beyond my expectations anyway.
Need to lock in third, then I can lock in my ticket to Napule' for a game!!!!
FORZA NAPULE!
