Not surprising. Bolton have been shite for some time.Bow Ties Are Cool wrote:Haven't seen you in a while.

Haven't we not been better than liverpool in just about every season for the past 25 years?

Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
In all seriousness, I think its time for Wenger to either move upstairs or away to another managing gig.
I flagged this 6 months ago but was shot down in flames. I think he has gone as far as he can go and he refuses to spend big.
SOmething needs to happen fast.

He'll have to spend money, if he had won anything this season he would never have spent again! So in that sense you're kinda lucky.

Haven't we not..... So your asking whether Liverpool has been better for the 25 years?Jimbob wrote:Bow Ties Are Cool wrote:

Liverpool destroyed United from 1986-1992. So you have not been better for the past 25 years.

Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
Liverpool last won the league in the 1989-90 season didn't they? Go on then I'll give you this one. We've been better for the last 22 years, I can live with that

See if you lot can live with that. Smart money says you all hop off the wagon.

Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
You seem confident that we'll take a plunge? The future is looking a lot brighter for us than it is for you. We've got a relatively young squad that challenges for silverware every season (remember what that's like?), millions to spend on new players and plenty of decent youth players coming through the ranks.Bow Ties Are Cool wrote:Wait 'til United take a plunge.Jimbob wrote:Liverpool last won the league in the 1989-90 season didn't they? Just because Liverpool became a shite club after years of dominance doesn't mean we'll do the same! It's all ifs and buts with you guys, come back when you're ready to mix with the big boys in about 5 years

I'm sure we've got a spare million here or there. The Kop wrote:How confident are that you have the millions?
I was going to comment on your grammar, but... meh.
Feel Good Inc.
Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
Very confident, Fergie has had millions to spend whenever he's wanted. He hasn't chosen to spend much of the Ronaldo cash because he felt the market was inflated and he knew the squas was good enough, and he was right!
Put it this way, I'm very confident we'll be bringing in better players than Liverpool this Summer and we definitely won't be spunking 35 million on players like Carrol

8m for Bebe......all managers waste money at times.
(I have only read your last post JimBob) so have no idea what the rest of the thread says.
Utd are deservedly champions, but this UTD team is not fit to lace the boots of the one of approx 5 years ago. even 2 years ago when you went 14 (?) games without letting a goal in.

Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
You've got this fascination with Bebe, only the United coaching team know if he's a dud or not, we haven't really seen enough of him yet to make that judgement IMO, he might still come good!e-football wrote:8m for Bebe......all managers waste money at times.

Earlier in the season I would have agreed with you but this team is a lot better than you think, have you actually seen much of them this season apart from the Anfield match against you guys?
We've probably got the best defense in Europe, give me a better midfield in the EPL than Giggs, Scholes, Nani, Valencia, Carrick, Fletcher and Park and the srikeforce of Rooney, Berba and Hernandez is not bad either!
We haven't conceded an away goal in Europe this season and you give me an example of any other team in history (maybe Liverpool in the 80s) that scores so many late winners when most teams would only draw?
And throw in the greatest manager of all time and I don't think we're that far off being as good as other great teams in our history!

Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
You do realise that you will win the league with the worst away record of any champions of 20 years.
I think that one line speaks for itself.
And yes I have seen a fair few games this season.

Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
But hang on a minute, I thought Liverpool had improved this season? How so if the league has got so much weaker this season? IMO the league has improved and it's harder to go to the so called lesser teams and get a result, this gets harder and harder every year!e-football wrote:You do realise that you will win the league with the worst away record of any champions of 20 years.

Our early season away form was pretty average but we haven't been playing too badly at the business end of the season when it matters most.

Re: ALL OVER FOR Arsenal
We were dire last season, got worse until Jan and have picked up since then, we were so bad we shouldn't even be in contention for 5th place - that's how bad it is!!
2 years ago you didn't let a goal in for 14 games - because you were good - this year you aren't as good hence letting in more!
As for your away record in the league.
Last 4, lost 2, drawn 1 won 1 (v the bottom team and were 2 down). Hardly great is it?

Man U have a winning mentality, that's why they win whole leagues while still losing to Liverpool, because Liverpool focus there energy into that whereas Man U don't mind as long as it means they win the next 6 games.
I think Kenny is going a long way to changing that, and just quietly Hodgson is doing wonders with West Brom at the moment too
