Huddersfield had a poor Christmas run...playing Sheffield Wednesday right now.
Top goal from Anthony Pilkington and some great work from keeper Alex Smithies.
Thank you for the 3 points Owls !

Looked like a game of aerial ping pong at times - don't they know how to keep the ball on the ground in League One?

Good crowd = 17,000
Time for some righteous indignation

Good crowd, great goal, some good saves and 3 points....the rest is irrelevant.

Watch out for the mighty Notts County. Just up from a great league win last year and some handy results now we have ince in charge. Great results against Sunderland and they played fantastic against Man City. We just need to turn these good games in the cup into good league games and we will push up the league.

Ince has them playing well just need to keep our top goal scorer Hughesy fit and with a couple of added players we should do well.

A couple of good wins for Huddersfield after their Cup disappointment against Arsenal.
Knocked off Carlisle 2-0 on Tuesday and a good 1-4 win away at Exeter last night. :)
Still a long way to go....
Big home game tonight against Oldham who are also travelling well in 6th position and shooting for promotion !

Huddersfield, four points clear of third-placed Peterborough, have now gone 18 league games unbeaten breaking the record for an unbeaten run in a single season set in 1925.
1925  Back when they won the 2nd of their 3 Division 1 Championships !

Southhampton used one get out of jail card last night. 2 nil down but ended up winning 3-2. Town cant afford to slip up now.

Southampton have 8 games left...when they met the teams they have remaining to play previously they could only manage 3 points (3 draws)..
Huddersfield have 6 games left against teams where they picked up 13 points in previous encounters this season...
However, much depends on this week :|

Brighton v Sheffield Wednesday
Huddersfield Town v Peterborough United
Leyton Orient v Southampton
MK Dons v Carlisle United
Bournemouth v Tranmere Rovers
Colchester United V Rochdale United

Difficult to believe that Sheffield Wednesday are in the same division as Dagenham & Redbridge. How the mighty are fallen.

Well done to Gus Poyet btw. Decent coach.

Another draw for Huddersfield against Peterborough but Southampton picked up a 0-2 win at Orient.
That's 20 league games without a loss for Huddersfield....missed a penalty in the 85th minute and only equalised in the last minute..

A good 1-3 win for Huddersfield away against MK Dons. (that's 22 consecutive games without a league loss ).
Hoping that Southampton (who still have a game in hand) drop three away points against Division 1 League winners Brighton tonight !

Thanks for nothing Brighton :x
I think that with Southampton having a superior goal difference ( 12 more than Huddersfield ), a game in hand and Huddersfield still having to play Brighton....it looks like Huddersfield may miss out on finishing second for automatic promotion.

Huddersfield ( 2 ) Daggenham Redbridge ( 1 )
Southampton ( 2 ) Hartlepool ( 0 )

No change :(
That's 23 league games straight without a loss, but the 9 drawn games (18 points lost) in that sequence are going to cost us :x

Good fighting game from Huddersfield...grabbed a win in the closing minutes to stay in touch...that 2 wins against Brighton this season.
Southampton only require 3 points, for automatic promotion to the Championship, from their remaining 2 games (Plymouth (A) and Walsall (H)),
that is, if Huddersfield win their last game ( Brentford (H) )
Huddersfield managed their 24th League game without defeat...but one defeat in the play-offs will cost them dearly.
On a side note, Peterborough United managed to top 100 goals for the season.
Looks like the play-offs will be between ( unless Southampton stumble) Peterborough, Bournemouth, MK Dons and Huddersfield.

PS - I hope Huddersfield achieve promotion...this is a lonely thread

If this was in Italy, Huddersfield would be just about promoted as if the 3rd placed team has a 10 point gap on 4th then play offs are not required because it's clear that there are 3 top teams in this league!

Catch up game...half time... Plymouth ( 0 ) Southampton ( 1 )
Southampton scoring in the 46th minute :x
0-2 now Southampton with a 2nd. 4 minutes into the second half....they're up,
Plymouth are relegated (should be all or nothing from them ) and Huddersfield into the play-offs.
0-3... :(

Huddersfield scored 4 tonight....

...and drew again... Huddersfield Town ( 4 ) Brentford ( 4 ) :x
However, that makes it 25 league games in a row without a loss....now for the play-offs..

Play-Offs

Sat. 14/5 - Bournemouth v Huddersfield ( 1 - 1 )
Sun. 15/5 - MK Dons v Peterborough United ( 3 - 2 )
Wed. 18/5 - Huddersfield v Bournemouth
Thu. 19/5 - Peterborough United v MK Dons

Huddersfield and Bournemouth drew both games when they met during the current season.
MK Dons have beaten Peterborough twice during the current season.
Huddersfield's unbeaten League run now is 26 games...if they draw 2-2 (or a higher score draw) with Bournemouth they could be out of the play-offs despite an unbeaten run of 27 games

MK Dons 0-1 down at half time. Then 3-1 up 10 minutes or so into second half. Boro down to 10 men and so things looking grim for them suddenly. Cracking game at times though.

Sorry Swanny, but 2-2 in the first leg, and then 2-2 after regular time in the second leg means that both were tied on away goals. And away goals dont matter once the teams are in extra time pal.
But congratulations anyways pal :D
