That he might be , but like a true politician ,he knows that the majority rules. Especially in adelaide , where the sporting agenda is run by the AFL/SANFL
Cruey, if an AFL game is more important to you then a football international involving Aust, who haven't played in Adl for 7 years and won't be back in a hurry, doesn't matter who it is against, then as a football fan, your priorities are in the wrong place ....
Enjoy your meat pie and West End Draught at AAMI....

I'm quite happy with my #1 priority being Carlton on that day.
As a football fan, I have no problem travelling to Melbourne to watch a Socceroos match - if the football purists want me to give up a team which I've supported for 25 years for a meaningless friendly, then they should organise a decent team, not settle for sloppy thirds.
I haven't eaten a pie or had a beer at the footy for years - much prefer to go out after for dinner and a few drinks.
So therefore Carlton wins out for me, but who ever goes - hope you have a great time.

nz made the world cup and play attacking football so should be a good game
I know you like being optimistic... But c'mon.
played a 4-3-3 every game at the world cup, ok key word missing, try to play attacking football
I've seen Roma utilise a 4-6-0 before yet still be the more attacking and creative team. It is not just about lining players up, it is how you use the system too. 4-3-3 can mean squat sometimes, especially as it is (and NZ were) close to 4-5-1.
this will sell out in a few days, massive event, we get 20 thousand to adelaide united games there, only need 18 thousand more, probably get that from nz travellers and interstaters coming over plus the extra numbers from our own sa sporting community, get Harry on a few adelaide shows the week before, game over.....bums on seats!!!

Indeed bums on seats. Shhhhhh goes the Aussie crowd
Seeing as it's the KIWIS I might just break my self-imposed boycott of AO and go along.
After all it will probably be the last time I ever see the Socceroos in Adelaide in my lifetime as the proposed 'new' stadium will never get approval for an A Class international due to FIFA's demands that stadiums must be fully enclosed to host A Class games - friendlies are our only hope and the chances of getting anyone decent again will be few and far between.
