Modbury Vista 2 - 5 ISC Raptorsthemayor wrote:Raps 5-2 Vista
Referee dominant
A good game to watch in patches with both sides having pleanty of chances to take a grip on the game Raptors went 1-0 up then 2-0 up then 3-0 up and looked the goods. Referee had a say in most of the play today which was dissapointing for both sides (unfortunately he didn't get nutmegged). There was a penalty for both sides in the first half one for ISC for obstruction and one for Vista for a rash challenge inside the box, however the ISC player didn't have alot else that he could do.
Raptors took the game early in the second half playing some good football in the middle third of the pitch and scoring an early header, which was poorly defended by Vista. Modbury spent the bulk of the second half in ISC's half and were caught on the counter for the fifth goal. Both sides played well but the referee did ruin what has been a great fixture for the last few years.
Modbury Vista 3 - 1 ISC Raptors
Modbury Controlled alot of the early ball and lacked the final ball through to the forward third and did well to go 1-0 up early but Raptors faught back well to make it 1-1 with a penalty for a handball inside the box after a corner scramble. Was very dissapointing to see that after the penalty there was a bit of push and shove between a couple of players from each team which had the Vista keeper sent off and a Raptors midfielder leave the game. Half time saw both sides go into the change with very little between them on the park.
Second half both sides started as they finished, with Vista pushing forward and ISC linking up well with a few of their older heads in the middle of the park. Vista then re-took the lead with a neat through ball and a simple finish. Modbury kept pushing and were rewarded with a third from a corner which dropped on the penalty spot and was rolled into the net.
A great day for all and a very big thank you to raptors for they hospitality today, enjoyed the beers and bbq as always and good luck to them for the rest of the season

Good fightback from Knights coming back from being 2-0 down just after half time.
Great work from young Glen Crute and some good saves from Ben Slater in goal.

East 1 - 4 Gardens
I got to be a spectator today and was very interesting watching from the sidelines...
I thought we matched it with Gardens for the first 30 minutes, being 1 nil up and playing some great attacking football. Once we lost Hutchy to an injury, the game changed... With us ending up chasing the ball a fair bit and the influential players getting increasinly involved.
Brooksy then scored as the East defenders couldnt stop Fozzies mazy run and a nice finish by Brooksy to break hearts a minute before half time. The second half we worked very hard, but the quality shone out with gardens breaking our backs with a couple of nice goals. A couple of simple errors costing us in the end, but as we are quickly learning you cannot afford any mistakes or you will be punished.
We will need to pick up our heads pretty quickly and get back on the gravy train for round 4!!!!

Great day at Argana Park. Awesome win for B's, hard fought win for A's. The downs army keeps marching on, bring on next game... Top of table clash.

Great win in the A's with a number of players back after Easter hopefully we can build on this result
The referee in the A's really needs to give the game away
B's wasn't much better

Grove v Fulham
A's
Grove 4 - Fulham 1
Fulham 1-0 up and playing ok and just before half time bang bang (to quote King Nuggett) and Grove went in 2-1.
2nd half Grove were the better side and deserved there win.
Couple of quick forwards (the Asian guy got 1 today) - a hard working side that will cause a couple of upsets this year - not an outstanding team that oozes quality but they work well together as a team.
On another note everyone at Fulham wishes Matt Fitton all the best as a Tuesday night training mishap has seen him do his ACL (95% certain - to be confirmed by MRI tomorrow).
Matt has been our top scorer for the last 2 years and plays with his heart on his sleeve and it will be a huge loss for us.
In the last 2 years at Fulham he has proven himself to be 1 of the best strikers that has played at Fulham in its 41 year history and I would rate him in the top 3 in the 21 years that I have been there without a doubt - hard working, fearless and makes goals out of nothing - he will be sorely missed this season.
We wish him all the best with his recovery and hopefully see him back sometime next season on the field.
B's
Grove 3 - Fulham 5
Grove got it back to 3-3 when they were 3-1 down but Fulham over ran them in the last 15 minutes to get the points.

The only team at Fulham un defeated this year.
