If you actually saw Cumberland game vs Sturt they didn't play 1-4-3-3.

Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011
What happens if a spectator runs on the field and plays a through ball to your striker to score or even shoots himself, is there a different law for dogs and people? The General wrote:I remember during my last Referees Course, and the Instructor kept saying, if the ball hits it, and it is on the field of play, you play on. For example, you have a shot a goal and it hits the Referee, corner flag, or a dog that has run onto the field of play, and goes into the goal, the law says it is a goalIbrox wrote:Not quite sure what you are saying here, halting play and the drop ball is for outside interference on the field of play by an outside agent.....
If the ball hits a tree branch that overhangs the pitch, you play on.
Ive always been led to believe its a drop ball.
Ask a Liverpool supporter they should know the law, they all would have dived for the the laws of the game after the beach ball incident.

Adelaide city are IMO 2nd strongest on paper not cumberland

Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011
Go to http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affeder ... otg_en.pdf to download the laws of the game.
On page 60
Outside agents
Anyone not indicated on the team list as a player, substitute or team
official is deemed to be an outside agent as is a player who has been
sent off.
If an outside agent enters the field of play:
• the referee must stop play (although not immediately if the outside
agent does not interfere with play)
• the referee must have him removed from the fi eld of play and its
immediate surroundings
• if the referee stops the match, he must restart play with a dropped
ball in the position where the ball was at the time when the match
was stopped, unless play was stopped inside the goal area, in
which case the referee drops the ball on the goal area line parallel
to the goal line at the point nearest to where the ball was located
when play was stopped
Anything that is not covered in laws 1-6 are also considered to be 'outside agents' this includes trees and beach balls, so play has to be stopped and restarted with a dropped ball.
I think the confusion might be that if the ball hits the referee or assistant referee, goalposts, corner flags or anything else that is covered in laws 1-6 then the directive is to play on, as these items are considered to be part of the field of play and not outside agents.
So for example if you shoot and it deflects off the referee into the back of the net it is a goal, but if a dog has run on the pitch then the second it hits the dog play is stopped and a drop ball awarded....

If you have a shot that is missing the goal or if you in fact cut a ball back and it hits the ref and goes in, who does the goal get given too?So for example if you shoot and it deflects off the referee into the back of the net it is a goal
Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011
Didn't mean to be harsh on Cumby, I just think they should do better since they have the best team in years or even ever...They are disappointing but yeah they have time to improve(wonder how much "development" the likes of Slater, T. Harrison, Calder and Trimboli still need though... :? ).
Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011
I don't think the development of players is being questioned, more so the development of the team as a unit and the way those players, plus others can be utilized to the best, don't think this has been done yet, however early days!

OK Bad Egg - you are probably right that it's the best squad (on paper) that they have had for several years, but when you look at the team in a bit more detail;Bad Egg wrote:Didn't mean to be harsh on Cumby, I just think they should do better since they have the best team in years or even ever...They are disappointing but yeah they have time to improve(wonder how much "development" the likes of Slater, T. 'Key' Players -
L.Slater (new), T Harrison (new), N.Calder(returning) : all playing well, but needs the rest of team to 'gel' around them - this is starting to happen. (don't forget Harry only trained with team once before first game of season)
L.Trimboli (new) - only met team for first time 30minutes before first game of season. Now has developed an understanding with the defence which has resulted in first clean sheet for Cumby in almost a year.
M.Deakin (existing) - long term injury, but should have positive effect on their mid-field when she returns.
E.Checker (existing) - great youngster, but only 14 or 15 years old. Still needs time and experience.
Former players just returned -
E.Campbell & R.Peate - no offence but these players have not yet been able to replicate the form they once had. They've been out of the game for a while, but are good players and I'm sure they will only continue to improve.
The rest of the squad -
Made up of a combination of regular 'squad players' (and I don't mean that in a derogatory way) and new players from last years U15 and U17s.
In summary - like a few other teams, early days yet.

Cumby are a top team - if the "key" players deliver.

Wow what a detailed and informative post!
You must know the players well, so must be from internal of the club, not sure why you would want to deflate the players tyres when there have only been positive comments on the quality of the squad, each to their own I guess.
Interesting, I’ve never ever heard a player, parent or official use the term ‘gel around them’ only a coach! Suspect I’ve still not
Oh and point of order I don’t think you can remind not to forget when its not been mentioned before, 1st post isn’t it?
"....(don't forget Harry only trained with team once before first game of season)"
Just reading through the details though and I think pvfc (and your good buddy peter shilton) are right previously Meg is a REAL ‘key’ player for the team. Played lots of 1433 with State and SASI - would be invaluable.
How long is she out for, pvfc?

There's a rumour around that if it's true will make it much harder for some Cumby players to actually play...
It's a pity because at the club there are some great ppl that deserved more attention IMO.
Some have left and others could follow...who knows what will happen?
For starters Cumby may get the best line up in the prems and win the league.
I guess we'll know very soon

I would but as I said it's only a rumour (although I heard this from someone personally involved with the cumby prems) and the ones who need to know about it know already!

Harder for them to play because they'll get dropped for supposedly better players? Or perhaps more tactical shambles?

With Ash Faul signing up with Olympic, the only ex SASI players from last year that I know aren't tied to clubs is Balomenos and Fimmano.voldemort wrote:A couple of high profile ex SASI players and a top goal scorer talking to GOD...so the rumour isSuper_Trooper wrote:Meh - seems to me the Cumby rumour is lame since no one wants to let the cat out the bag.... As for top goal scorer, there are a few potential names out there.
Great recruiting if true, but how will current cumby players/parents/committee feel about losing spots to players who dont train at all with the team??
I heard other Prem clubs have turned down players who have requested that they only play, not train.
Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011
We all seen how well key players not training with the team turns out last summer

Re: Results Round 3 10th April 2011
That's pretty crappy-it doesn't give others a chance to develop and simply substantiates the age-old problem with Womens soccer in this state, you ain't no-one unless people know your name. Always good to have new quality players that compete for spots however without training and getting to know the team, won't end well.voldemort wrote:
