Gardens 1 Pontians 0. Absolute cracker of a penalty save by Stamma another stand out game, is there a better keeper outside the A league in SA??

In the second half Pontians go 1 nil down to a spiby header in a tight hard game, they win a penalty then implode with one of their players being sent off for a head butt (I think) before the penalty was taken.

Of course - but he's a freak and a very big reason why Gardens keep winning games.

Farm up and comfortable all day, Grove scored twice in the final few minutes to draw. Good match to watch and Ingle Farm will be kicking themselves how they didn't take 3 points away.

Great game Bosna missed a sitter and Beograd punished us at the other end to go 1 - nil up. Bosna then took charge and had most of the first half under control. 4-1 at half time for Bosna. Must say some of the of the goals today were out standing. Beograd came out second half and played some good football they hit the cross bar a few times and the post. But the new signing from west beach Bosna Keeper showed his class between the sticks. Bosna hit Beograd on the break and went 5-1 up credit to Beograd they didnt give up and scored from a penalty and a second followed.

Want to thank Beograd for sticking around for drinks after wards. Great we smashed down 14 crts of Carona and 26kg of cevapi. Good luck for the rest of the season. Must also mention it was a great crowd today and atmosphere was great.

Good to see you guys getting along so well.
Maybe you can all get together and play cards or shoot pool on Regency Rd.

A's West Beach 0-4 Para Hills East

Solid game from both sides. Scoreline is probably a little harsh on beach, but i think we ran over the top of them, they made a few terrible errors in defense and we were clinical in front of goal.
We went into the break 1-0 up, but beach were still right in it.They probably had more of the ball, but in areas that didnt really hurt us. There was one unbelievable save from our keeper in the first half, pulled it out of the top corner, great stuff. We were under the pump for a good 15 minutes in the second half, but managed to come out unscathed. Then like i said we ran over the top of them and controlled most of the game for the last 20.
Beach push the ball around really well and if they had a bit more upfront, maybe a bit more pace, they would be a very tough side to beat. Indivoneagain looking the fittest i have seen him possibly ever.
All in all a good day out for our boys (except for East17 going down with a hammy :( ). A great team performance and great to get 3 points against quality opposition.

DOWNS 3 - Vale 0
BANG BANG BANG

Great day down at Argana Park.

Downs v Vale
A's 3 - 0
B's 3 - 1
C's 1 - 1

Well in u Downs.....
Disappointing day down at Argana Park Yesterday

B's
Started at quite a frantic pace, the Downs had Blackwood in the middle who was always putting a foot on it to slow it down. Both teams had a few chances with Kokot making a couple saves, Downs went 1 nil up and we had 2 players go down to injuries just before half time. Downs slotted another within 2 mins of the restart but to be honest i think we controled the sencond but just couldnt find that killer ball. A goal mouth scrap and Downs went 3 up, dominated the last 15 mins with the downs soaking up the pressure, we ended recieving a penalty which was converted nicley  Downs deserved all 3 points. (Qulality Zigga Zagga in the change rooms after the game )

A's
Great game to watch as always, missed a bit of the first half (Due to drinking the sorrows away and grabbing a bite to eat) Downs first goal extreamly soft with rosco coming out to meet the ball, getting 2 hands on it then to be bowled over by a downs player and the ball slotted into the back of the net. We leveled not long after only to have the goal disallowed for offside (no idea how it can be offside when the vale player was clearly onside when the ball was kicked and the deflecting header coming of a downs player) think the heads may of dropped a bit and the downs made us pay and were very clinical infront of goal. I dont think the the 3 nil drubbing reflected the proformence but the downs played well.

Hit the track hard next week.....

And cheers to Parafield for the Vale esky and umbrella

B's PHW 3 Brahma 2
C's PHW 3 Brahma 1

Cracking game in the A's, huge crowd, had everything. Good to finish with 11 on the park this week the lads showed they are up to the challenge and unlucky not to score a last minute winner, though in saying that Westies also unlucky on a few occasions.

very entertaining game at the downs with a strong wind blowing straight down the middle....vale were on top for the first half hour carving out 3 one on ones with benny making 3 outstanding saves...nearing half time roscoe fumbled a cross under pressure from nathan day and fumbled it over the line..all downs in the second half and could have been a much bigger margin...for you macnuggets downs went BANG BANG BANG....definite gulf in class

Vista v Maco's - the conditions were never any good to play in yesterday as i'm sure most had the same issues. Happy to get the 3 points over Maco's who definately got a run on in the 2nd half. On behalf of MVSC, i'd like to thank the Maco supporters who stuck around after the game, tucked into some food and alcohol and by all reports were the last to leave the club last night. So big thanks to Maco's and ill make sure we return the favour. Cheers

Ingle Farm V Elizabeth Grove

Fairly ordinary weather but still a really good crowd out to watch the game. The Grove were very entertaining all day.

A's 3-3
I don't see much of home games so this is what I've pieced together from what I saw and what I was told. A good performance by our guys today having the better of possession and plenty of chances to put the game beyond doubt. Grove were always in it and pressed and pressed. At 3-1 with 7 minutes to go you'd like to think the game would be over but Grove to their credit created 2 goals to pick up a point. To say we were devestated is and understatement. The boys will pick themselves up this week for the Vale game. We've played really well in the last two weeks but only have a point to show for it.

B's 3-1
A bit of a scrappy tussle this one. Very physical but nothing dirty which was good to see. Grove didn't sit back, they went and took the game up to us. Probably in the end it was our little bit of extra class which won us the points. Grove will certainly pick up points playing the way they did though. Great work from our B's, two solid games in a row and now we come up against last years winners.

C's 5-1
A very bad first 10 mintues for us in which Grove scored but after that, we settled, got on the ball, opened up the Grove defence and created a lot of chances. We've got a lot of really good young guys this year mixed in with a few guys in their mid to late 20's so things are looking good. Brilliantly coached to might I add

+35's V Para Hills East 1-3
The report I got was they were good, we were bad.

Women's
The team we were meant to play against told the league late during the week that they were moving the game. Too bad they didn't tell us or the referee. The girls had a nice drive out to Roseworthy for nothing.

A big thank you to Grove who supported the Bar and BBQ better than most clubs do considering the number of people they had. Almost all of their first team hung around for a drink after the game. Great bunch of guys and I hope they do well for the rest of they year.

Please.... Benny is a good keeper and all but fark me, if the ball got hit straight at me like that I'd save them too!! The lads certainly didn't finish their chances at all and on the sidelines we knew this would hurt us later in the game. Very unlucky not to be 1 all and then 5 minutes later the lads were 3 nil down. The boys fought right to the end and pushed everyone forward but were not able to unlock the downs defence.

Great day out at the downs again though, good crowd (except those Smithfield lads who decided to turn up and just give lip all day)... looking forward to the return leg already.

Oh, and sorry redback, i went looking for you after your duties with the ressies were over but no luck.

Gardens vs Pontian
C's 5-2
Goals - 2 Alsolami, Bowles, Asharid, Chai

B's 2-1
Goals - Mish, TOG
(Ref apparently felt threatened & called game off with 13mins to go)

A's 1-0
Goals - Spiby
Gardens continue to ground out results probably the strongest Pontian team weve seen in a few years & will certainly win more games this season. Great penalty save by Stam even though some thought that the free kick was outside the box. Plenty of cards handed out to Pontian most for back chat & 2 send offs (+1 in ressies).

Over 35's vs Para Hills West 1-1
Goal - Spearo
Westies scored 2nd goal from a goal kick but player was flagged offside so ref disallowed goal but minutes later Westies player called for handball in box which didnt even happen so ref squared up previous decision & awarded penalty which they missed. Gardens had their chances to win Wanganeen should have scored winner but fair result in the end.

Div 9 C team
Beograd 7 - Gardens 3
Thanks to Beograd for reversing the fixture.
