Titans
SAASL descibes them as "Adelaide's newest soccer (sic) club"
If they are a new club, why did they get to start in division 2 and not in division 4 with other "new" clubs?

Could be because I know he's only managed 1 league match therelisbon lion wrote:dont hurt your elbow patting yourself on the backGod is an Englishman wrote:I've probably scored more Div 1 goals than games you've played there!
OR it could be because I know he's never played in Div 1.
TAKE YOUR PICK!
But anyway, if they are a new club, why are they in div 2?

You'd be suprised how wanted I am. I am more wanted than PPG's taxi on a saturday night when india are in a world cup final.
However, what's this got to do with a "new" club getting straight into div 2? Why won't anyone answer that question?
Re: Titans
They aren't new, they are just rebranded. And excessively marketed.
The Club Formerly Known As Gryphons, which was in turn formerly known Navarino (or the other way around?). Meh.

Thank you very much! However, you will have to join the long list of those who look and admire, but cannot touch.

Somebody one asked if I could spare some change for gas, I could really get away from this place.
I said yep, what a concept! I could use a little fuel myself and we could all use a little change.

Re: Titans
We used to be Navarino and changed our name to Adelaide Titans. Is that sufficient enough for you guys??? Why do you guys care so much about us and what we do anyway?

Then why are you described as "Adelaide's newest soccer (sic) club". If you're a NEW club then you should be in Div 4.

They are trying talk themselves us. In a post on here, they talked about having a board of directors

Re: Titans
GIAE just being pedantic. The Titans obviously sent the league a bit of a speil about themselves, and the league posted it on their site.
Like their "reviews", and all the ads on their site, its come from a third party and the source has not been properly stated.
21jumpstreet, we care because we have to play you and want to know who you are (or in the case of Hawkesy, because he's a stirrer).

Re: Titans
Why would you know anything about us Jay. Because you read a thread on football news it makes you know everything regarding our club. As for me i could not give a shiraz what your club is doing. Do i go and laugh at your club and make jokes when i dont know anyone who plays there or runs the club? No.

Your Public Relations department put this out earlier in the year.Adelaide Titans FC wrote:Fantastic turn out for the first week of training. A few people have asked questions in regards to which club has changed its name and the reasons behind it.
A detailed and comprehensive review of our Club was undertaken at the conclusion of the 2010 season. The purpose of this review was to ascertain what changes (if any) were required to be made in order to ensure the long term sustainability of our Club and that we, as a local football club, are heading in the right direction. Following the conclusion of this review, it was decided that a revamp of our Club was necessary. In October 2010, this process was commenced with the establishment of a management structure which is aimed at ensuring effective forward planning of our Club as well as the day-to-day management of the Club's affairs. In this respect, an Executive Board of Directors, all of whom are senior executives in their respective professional fields, has been appointed where the Members are tasked with the forward and strategic planning of our Club. A Management Committee has also been appointed to ensure the day-to-day operations of our Club are achieved at the highest possible level. Over the past three (3) months we have worked tirelessly to establish a new Club name, Club colours, logo, secure a home ground. Our Club’s key objective is to create a community and family orientated environment in which our players, members and supporters can actively partake in the world game of football. We believe that the measure of our success, as a community and family orientated sporting club, is our ability to serve the needs of our players, members and supporters to the highest quality and provide them with the real sense that the Adelaide Titans is ‘their’ club. We aspire to create a professionally administered club which promotes excellence in football through a culture of passion, pride, success and above all a united spirit. We have achieved great things in the off season and are very much looking to a great season on and off the park in 2011.
So where did I say I knew everything about your club? The statement I made was quite true.

Re: Titans
you have a dig at people who actually try to improve on the club. This year so far at Titans we have made major improvements with the amount of players we have the different mix of nationality's and the general running of the club. I am not on the board of the club and had no part in writing of that statement but why laugh when people are trying to make an improvement.

So, if Titans consider themselves a NEW club then they should be in Div 4.
If they are not a new club and just changed their name, then they can stay in div 2 but can't call themselves adelaide's newest club
