Re: Results Round 1 - 27 March
they usually had results up on the site by lunchtime on mondays LAST yearEduardo Caroccio wrote:Will ffsa be updating the site on mondays this year?
I think they're still entering the fixtures/results/tables sections on the site at the moment so we may have to wait a few days to get results this week, but next week things SHOULD be back to normal

Re: Results Round 1 - 27 March
Wendy Carter gave permission for Central United to field 4 overage players in their under 15's. Some were knocking on 18.
So if short just drop older players down...!!!

I can top this plympton under 16 have been put in the under 15 state league this year as they were the only team other than croydon to nominate (i believe but stand corrected on this point), croydon playing in under 17 c assume as they are a fed club, plympton told need to play in state league as not fed club and as no u16jsl have been but in u15's not sure how this works for the clubs they meet this year i assume opponents will be able to play u16 against them if they wish.pottermus wrote:Wendy Carter gave permission for Central United to field 4 overage players in their under 15's. Does it really matter, does it really ???
Is it better that 15 kids get a game somewhere, rather then be lost to the game
Atleast you will get a tough game when you play them, and it will be a challenge..... I'm sure they are not all 16 this year as well .....

Did they have rego cards that showed their age or are we getting into the old "They're African so they must be lying about their age" syndrome?rossonero wrote:what if that 15s team played a 13 or 14 yr old kid and after going into a tackle against a 18 yr old he breaks his leg???

So you are saying that the above as outlined by the FFSA in fact has not happened?FFSA wrote:Dear all
Due to withdrawal of a team from the JSL Under 17 League, the Football Federation SA has been left with five teams for this competition, a viable competition cannot be conducted with only five teams. As a consequence of this the Football Federation SA has looked at other alternatives to accommodate these teams.
The only feasible option is to accommodate the teams in either the JPL Under 16B or Under 17C leagues. Consequently Central United and Croydon will be accommodated in the Under 17C and Campbelltown City, Plympton and Seaford will be accommodated in the Under 16B.
As you would all be aware this is the first year that the JSL has been introduced and therefore it may take some time for these structures to fully develop. .......

Still nothing on the FFSA web site. Senior results are up, Womens are up, Girls are up - but no Junior Boys.
This coming weekend's headline fixtures and previews for Seniors already up, so no excuses.
Pretty poor really.

Re: Results Round 1 - 27 March
I have been told U/15 Plympton side has moved to White City with Greg Griffen as coach. White City did not have an U/16 side, but due to the kids coming across from Plympton have now fielded an U/16 team and most of the kids are eligible to move between U/15 and U/17 due to their age as seen in the Manchester Cup ?
Re: Results Round 1 - 27 March
Noticed White City U/17's had a bye this week but are now playing Campbelltown. A girls team were originally in U/16B have now been removed (dont know where) and White City added.

I agree with you the kids should just be allowed to play however would it not be fair on all involved if they played their own ageZeljko Jurin wrote:,frustrated wrote:I can top this plympton under 16 have been put in the under 15 state league this year as they were the only team other than croydon to nominate (i believe but stand corrected on this point), croydon playing in under 17 c assume as they are a fed club, plympton told need to play in state league as not fed club and as no u16jsl have been but in u15's not sure how this works for the clubs they meet this year i assume opponents will be able to play u16 against them if they wish.pottermus wrote:Wendy Carter gave permission for Central United to field 4 overage players in their under 15's. Re: Results Round 1 - 27 March
get rid of the jsl & go back to old system too many decent players forced to play in basically a school league not enough teams fringe players leaving the game because they cant break into an jpl team. imo i dont think its helping our game one bit all we will keep seeing is kids club swapping every year
Re: Results Round 1 - 27 March
"get rid of the jsl & go back to old system too many decent players forced to play in basically a school league" - I think the idea was to give kids a choice; elite football - JPL, social football (school league, as you put it) - JSL.crusaider wrote:get rid of the jsl & go back to old system too many decent players forced to play in basically a school league not enough teams fringe players leaving the game because they cant break into an jpl team. imo i dont think its helping our game one bit all we will keep seeing is kids club swapping every year
"fringe players leaving the game because they cant break into an jpl team" - Our club is not seeing that, we're getting a lot of calls from parents of kids that have only played school and are looking for a club.
"imo i dont think its helping our game one bit all we will keep seeing is kids club swapping every year" - they were "club swapping" long before the JSL, and they'll keep doing it as long as parents think the grass is greener, or finding the "best" team is how they'll get their kid to be a super star.
At the end of the day, 'the cream always floats to the top'. Let the kids play and enjoy the game with their mates, if their destined to be a great player they'll get noticed. First they need to train 4 nights per week and play a game, practice every day. eat well, sleep well, drink well and have a good attitude. Then, if they're lucky they'll get somewhere.
