Another "clue" that Olympic are the team to beat?
I don't see any opponents for them this year (so far).

I've heard Olympic only have 22 players in their prems and reserves squad (due to injury?) and no juniors apart from U/9s. If this is the case, how will they field a premier league team?

Is this actually true? If so, it's a disgrace...what happened to all their teams?

As for the Prems and Ressies, if they can't get more numbers that's how it will work:

Scenario 1 - They will play Prem players in the reserves every week and the people at FFSA will let them do so bending the rules. Every other Res. team will be upset and FFSA will again look like clowns.

Scenario 2 - They will go on and postpone a heap of Res. games and FFSA will tel them do so even if everybody knew in advance that this would happen. Again FFSA will look like clowns, bend rules and enable another shamble going on with the women's league.

Either way, they should be held responsible for the leagues that they enter - if they are in Prems and Reserves...then they MUST play the Reserve games with a Reserve team! So, they MUST find enough players. If this doesn't occur...then it will again be FFSA's responsibility and fault.

Not being a smartass or anything, but wouldnt Olympic have to forfeit the reserves games??

Didnt Sturt reserves last year forfeit games due to numbers?

I hope olympic do find the players though, they are a very good club.

You're right and I also hope they find more players. When I said "postpone" I should have also said "forfeit", which is even worse as it totally makes a farce of the competition.

Nobody wants a team to always forfeit the Reserve games...even because it will always happen when they play stronger opponents for their prems...That's why I say that FFSA is responsible knowing this before the season starts.

There is merit in everything you are all saying however, I look at in other terms.

1) What is going on with the competition when good clubs are struggling to field terms. For instance Fulham and now Olympic.

2) As a previous player and team manger for a prems club team, we had problems fielding a prems and reserves side week after week. That was about 8-9 years ago. Nothing seems to have changed.

3) The competition has been eroding and disintegrating slowly. I mean if Fulham is now suffering, who’s next?

4) You ask for the FFSA to do something? Next question/statement.

Maybe one day we can get Womens soccer to where it was 20 years ago and the ladies at the FFSA will be happy. A simple social gathering. Nothing else.

We have teams electing not to get promoted into the prems league. What ????

The FFSA cant assume its going to happen though can they, if it does then they should strongly monitor and make a judgement call, and fine the club if necessary.

The point is that with only 22 players you can't have reserves and prems if the current FFSA rules on how many prem players can "play down" on a given game day apply...So what does this mean?

1 - FFSA rules and structure with prem/res is unrealistic and doesn't reflect the state of the game.
2 - If the rules are there then Olympic theoretically should not be allowed to play in the Prems since to do so you have to have a prem and a reserve side.

The first scenario implies that FFSA are again proving to be incompetent and that some people simply should be sacked. The second...well it would be just a massive blow since Olympic are tipped as "the team to beat" in the Prems.

TBH I don't even know if it's true that they only have 22 players. But if it's so...then FFSA have to do something about it. It's time to stop with this "every case considered differently" or "turn a blind eye approach". People are seriously fed up with FFSA and their amateurish way to manage the sport, everyone wants some clarity as far as I hear. And even from the men's comp you hear the same things!
