Accident Insurance in trial games??
Hi, was hoping someone could help me with a quick question and apologies if it's been asked and answered 100 times already.
What are the rules around trial games and accident/injury insurance? Does the game need to have an official referee from the league to be sanctioned and therefore covered? Or can the club use its registered club referee and still be covered? Does the league need to be advised of the date, time and participants of the fixture also so they can sanction the match which therefore insures the match?
Cheers.

A club referee can be used if they are apart of the SAASL club referee program. Reserves and C games are covered by the insurance also.KING NUGGETT wrote:Yes the SAASL Accident fund including Ambulance covers trial games,The Toffees wrote:Hi, was hoping someone could help me with a quick question and apologies if it's been asked and answered 100 times already.

Each team pays a fee to the SAASL for the game to be covered. Last year I think it was $30, they need to know in advance. They will add the charges to your account.

Re: Accident Insurance in trial games??
Do the players have to be registered already with the league in be eligible for this cover,
Or can the 2010 passes still carry over until round 1 2011?
Because there are some players who have not signed up yet, for different reasons.

Re: Accident Insurance in trial games??
I was told by club secretary that players registered with saasl in 2010 would be covered, any new player or a player returning example played 2009, had to be registered this year to before he would be covered. As well as notify the league of any games your club is involved in might want to confirm with league to be sure.

$30 per team, per game if the SAASL sends out an official ref.Kitchimo wrote:Each team pays a fee to the SAASL for the game to be covered. Last year I think it was $30, they need to know in advance. They will add the charges to your account.
If SAASL don't send someone out then you don't have to pay the league, but then you're players aren't insured by the league for that game

That's it!
