burning shirts
Is this sort of thing really necessary ?
the symbolism is a very poor look for the game
another little sign of increasing trouble brewing around the game in the UK

1)No, but some are displeased easier than others and show agression or anger differently. No law against this I believe...vertu1 wrote:1) Is this sort of thing really necessary ?

I dont think its a big deal, it's just the passion fans feel when a player they adore turns there back on there club.
Doesnt just happen in football, i saw a few months ago basketball fans burning Lebron James jerseys when he left his team.

thanks for that well thought out response mate
seriously, this forum has really deteriorated from what it used to be
there was a time when it provided well thought debate ,even if one didn't agree
now it is largely name calling drivel ...
if you can't see the increase in violence around the game of late then you might want to look a bit closer and comment again
but then again , judging by your last effort it would hardly be worth it would it

Re: burning shirts
It could add a bit of spice to the local game.
Time for some righteous indignation

Re: burning shirts
You call it name calling drivel, I say you will get that on any forum speaking that sort of waff. Im up for seeing any debating/discussions, just that saying it's a sign of trouble brewing around the game, be it uk or anywhere else, is stupid. Its the passion of the person/s involved (see makaveli's comment re: lebron james), in any sport.vertu1 wrote:Chaos wrote:1)No, but some are displeased easier than others and show agression or anger differently. I can see violence, in football it is highlighted by media all the time. As it should be as it's not the greatest sight at all. But its not just in football. It happens in pretty much anything these days.

bought a brand new Everton kit with Gary Speed on the back. One week later the greedy gobshite went to Newcastle. Peeled off the Speed letters but you can still see the name.
As for burning an Everton strip, no way! Disrespectful.
