Napoli have reached an agreement to sign Espanyol defender Victor Ruiz on a permanent deal.
Ruiz, 21, will sign a contract until June 2015 with Napoli on Friday pending a medical.
A statement from Espanyol read: "RCD Espanyol and SSC Napoli have reached an agreement for defender Victor Ruiz to join the Italian team once he completes a medical in Naples on Friday.
"Ruiz will travel this afternoon to Italy and is expected to sign a four-and-a-half year contract with Napoli."
Ruiz, who was a reported target of Manchester City last month, attracted interest from across Europe following fine performances with the Primera Liga side this season.
He will become Napoli's second reinforcement in the winter transfer market following the arrival of defender Lautaro Fernandez from Argentinian side Tigres earlier this month.
Ruiz has yet to break into the full international squad but has a handful of caps for Spain's Under-21 team and will join a Napoli side that lies second in Serie A.
NO disrespect to my fellow nap formulites on here but whats with the hype for pazzini!
hes only scored 6 goals this term.
2 coming from the penalty spot.
he scored 3 away to strugglers lecce (2 & 1pen)
he scored away to strugglers cesena which came in the 92 minute
he scored at home vs cellar dwellers bari (penalty)
and one vs milan at home.
not a good report card this term considering he hit 22 i think last season.
On a sampdoria note they have failed to hit the back of the net 9 times this season.
5 0-0 draws
3 0-1 losses
1 0-3 loss.
so dont be suprised if this game ends up 0-0 or a 1-0 win for the naps.
FOOTBALL IS A FOREIGN GAME FOR HOOLIGANS & DRUNKEN PSYCHO-FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely and we have now not conceded at home for 7 games, San Paolo is becoming the fortress it was for the last two years, but we are able to win away from home as well.
Lavezzi suspended wednesday, but SOsa or Lucarelli will start.
WTF is going on with Juve, I know they are struggling, but now its getting ridiculous.
Lavezzi is an absolute superstar... tirelessly working for the team.
and how was his little scoop pass to Hamsik who then set up Yebda for the shot (who should have hit the target)

We can keep him for 3 million which we should. He works tirelessly.
Pagelle for the game below:
Comandante.
Napoli’s recent Serie A record at the San Paolo is six wins and a draw, keeping a clean sheet for 427 minutes of football. Edinson Cavani’s hat-trick took his career total to 51 goals and he has netted 23 this season between Serie A and Cup games.
Sampdoria have lost five away games on the trot in all competition and haven’t scored for 452 minutes outside Marassi. Their last victory in Naples was 2-0 on April 19 1998 thanks to a Pierre Laigle brace, followed by two draws and five defeats between Serie A and Serie B, during which they scored just twice.
On Pazzini he was always going to give it it me up the ar.se with his 2 goals and 1 assist in 45 minutes but my statements are directed on his form with samp. Obviously lacked service at the Marrasi and Samp are in trouble. Macheda has been a flop and Maccarone is at best a leading Serie B Striker. Both Pazzinis goals were very well taken i must say and the delivery was top notch. I felt the penalty could have gone either way. I would not have given it. Was hoping for a draw to keep both those clubs at bay. The missed penalty from Pastore was obviously the turning point of the game where Palermo have never conquered San Siro in Serie A, picking up just seven draws in 24 meetings with Inter. The Rosanero’s last League away win was 2-1 at Cesena on November 21, followed by two draws and three losses. Fabrizio Miccoli took his Serie A tally to 75, while it was the fifth for Antonio Nocerino.
Javier Pastore took Palermo’s first spot-kick of the Serie A campaign, but it was neutralised by Julio Cesar. In Week 22 the referees awarded 8 penalties, but only 4 were converted successfully.
On the Juve front..................Juventus and Udinese haven’t shared the Serie A spoils in Turin since a 1-1 in 1989-90, although there was also a UEFA Cup play-off in 1998-99 with the same result. In all competition the Friulani have won here six times, drawn five – all of them 1-1 scorelines – and lost 28.
Juve have the worst home defensive record in Serie A after leaking 19 goals - four more than the next side, Bari. The Bianconeri haven’t kept a League clean sheet on home turf since the 4-0 demolition of Lecce on October 17, conceding 11 goals in seven games. However, Juve have also scored in all of their last 16 Serie A Stadio Olimpico outings for a total 34 goals. They last fired blanks at home in a 2-0 loss to Palermo on February 28 2010.
It gives me great pleasure watching those pr.icks squirm and beg for a last minute transfer in the hope they sign a striker. If they do end up signing someone they will be paying top dollar. Lets hope other clubs dont give in and they can play with their donkey setup up front for the remainder of the season
FOOTBALL IS A FOREIGN GAME FOR HOOLIGANS & DRUNKEN PSYCHO-FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to laugh the other day when one of their transfer targets was Samaras.
No offence to Samaras, he is a handy striker, however in days gone by, Juventus would have been looking for someone of the ilk of Torres or Aguero or Pazzini.
They are in dire straits and I would say if it keeps going like this, Del neri will not see the end of the season.
Looks like Juventus will be buying Quagliarella anyway and will pay the remaining 13 million Euro.
Thanks for that.
Marotta has to be questioned for his poor work in the transfer market - this is not in reference to Quagliarella's, Bonucci's or Krasic's deals. Just all the other ones.
Lippi back to Juve as CEO next season, with SPalletti in the hotseat.
It's a work in progress - I don't think everybody expected it to change in 6 months. In came about 10 players, out went big earners (except Amauri, the fuckhead just doesn't want to leave) and we picked up some decent deals out of it. Aquilani for 5mil over the next three years and I think Quagliarella is on a similar sort of deal. Motta won't stay, Pepe probably will. Barzagli comes in for 300k and Sorensen can be purchased for 150k.
Still need to buy players. Possibly a right-back and certainly a striker. Injuries have really cut the team down though. And I'm not talking about last season and before that where everything was muscle related (first thing Agnelli did when he came in was have a look at the Vinovo training center and see why there were so many muscle injuries last season. All doctors were sacked, turf re-layed, etc). Besides Iaquinta, every player injured gets done during the match - that you count as unlucky because in-game incidents can happen like that.
Delneri has not had a settled team to work with, certainly not in 2011. Quagliarella was a huge blow because of how well he was playing and because of his role within Delneri's system, same with De Ceglie when he went down. When the team is on, it is really good. The midfield is one of the best in the league but some players are struggling at the moment. We need a confidence boost, because you can tell from a match like we played against Genoa back a few months, compared to this morning, it is lacking. Players now need to show heart, show some grinta, and make it happen.

Only a few with Grinta in that team - Del Piero, Marchisio, Melo, Krasic, Chiellini and Buffon. The rest are there to fill gaps.
