Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
Finally taking some of our chances (still could have had one or two more, Carney ). Uzbeks will finish very strong and we will fade out a lot due to our last game. We definately need one more early goal to shut out the second half.

lol Uzbeks very good at passing the ball sideways and racking up the stats re possession
Australia far far better at attacking, defending and goalkeeping
Oh and coaching
Struggle to get through the group

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
6 nil, now that's down right embarrassing for a semi-final, any of the kids getting a run?
Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
Mac Donald would be disappointed he didn't get a run, would have been half a chance for a goal, one would think.

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
the weak hearts completely gave up in the second half
the Socceroos should've won by 10 or 12 in the end. very embarrassing for the tournament
the Uzbeks should hand back their kits

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
Not a bad result. Considering some pundits were suggesting that the Uzbeks would be more than a match for us. The unfortunate thing about winning so BIG is that the next game some of us supporters will go into it with a level of expectation not fitting of a final.
I think the main stream media will build this up as of the 6am news.
Enjoy your Australia Day guys.

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
well given the scoreline i still think there were a few players on the Socceroos team that played poorly and struggled
i suspect there may be an investigation into the Uzbek performance. they literally stopped playing for periods.
fitness may be a key for the final as the second half of the Japan/Korea game indicated a major drop off in performance as both sides ran each other into the ground in the first.

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
There was no sense of uzbeks giving up in the stadium until 4-0, djeparov still worked his arse off. We were simply immense at soaking up pressure, holding them out, and hammering the break. I know I shouldt feedthe troll.....

Terrific result, Kewell really is proving to be the man for Australia at the moment. Regardless, Japan is no easy opponent however I have a great feeling!
I think it's fantastic to see some A-League (and ex A-League) players out there showing the world how far Australia is coming along as a footballing nation. Very, very proud of Makay, Ogen and Kruse. Top work you guys are doing the country proud.

Matt Mckay sensational, close to best on ground setting up 3 goals. He is having some tournament.

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
you would have to say that matt mckay will not be playing for the brisbane roar next season. what a player!
Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
Rosemont went ok LOL @ the "FK OFF MELBOURNE CHANT" when kruse came on for a run
we couldnt help but laugh when he choked infront of goal but then after a while u got over the the whole melb victory thing and ya wanted him to score (and he did). he looked very good out there.

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
However, it is four English Premier League players, and three ex-EPL players who are the backbone of the side.....Yids wrote:Terrific result, Kewell really is proving to be the man for Australia at the moment. Regardless, Japan is no easy opponent however I have a great feeling!

Yes there are Premier League players in the backbone of the side. However a few years ago you would be lucky to see a player in the national team who plays in Australia.

Re: Australia vs Uzbekistan
Excellent performance!! I wonder what the Uzbekistan coach thinks of Australia now
Matt McKay had 3 assists and I thought was best on ground for us and its good to see Kewell playing well again.
