Stirling with a coaching change hopefully keeps them clear of relegation trouble this season.

Depends on whether it is the group of Ignatians, or if it is short for Ignatians' Club.

Ad.Villa to win
2nd between Saints (always a threat)/S.Villa (may get R.Calabria)
BOSA (cracks in coaching and age of players showed end of last season)/Sturt (not enough quality to get higher and challenge for title) 4th/5th
Iggie's (good solid team with good team ethos) 6th
Jets (need more up-front and creative in midfield)/All-Stars (may cause surprises but can be very inconsistent)/Stirling (new coach but same squad)/Wanderers (unknown quantity) to battle to avoid drop

From what I saw last year I would be shocked if St Peters finished that high up the ladder.

I think it will be quite open though as Villa have lost some key players so there will be plenty of opportunity for someone to take the title.

If Stirling show the same fighting qualities and heart they did in the second half of the season they could actually do ok.

Unfortunately I think Stirling will drop unless some signings are made. The loss of coach Juan is considerable that would require improved playing stocks to cover.

It could be a crossover of Hahndorf up and Stirling down that would be a disappointment because the derbys are great days.

Based on last season, Modbury and Stirling to battle against the drop, St Peters will be in the bottom third also. If Salisbury Villa don't recruit, a lack of early results will see them suffer more than last season.

Modbury Jets survived the drop on the last game of the season and were a mediocre side all year

beware BOSA. They were cruising last year until they collapsed in the 2nd half of the season. I expect BIG things from them this year

 based on last season??
Last season nobody deserved to be relegated, plenty of crapper teams have stayed up in previous years. And if you base anything on last season, you will be predicting another where any team can pretty much have the better of another on their day.
And yes, we finished 5th, but get called crap for a whole season by people that saw us play twice.
Nothing like a good bit of ol fashioned Modbury bashing, hey?
Good luck to all clubs in div 1 this season, I can't wait for it all to start again! :D

Obviously no better. Point is though that highlighting that Modbury finished 5th is not really an accurate reflection on how good of a side they were. Take a look at the table and you'll see how close the table was, Modbury just survived. In my opinion they were the worst side we played all year, yet we never beat them in either game, with a draw and a loss, respectively. I could argue that uni were better considering our goal difference and that finishing third would have been justified, but the fact is we didn't win enough games and got relegated, which is what we deserved. Modbury will know how close they came to relegation and will want to avoid that next year and will need to improve. Sorry if you're from Modbury and I hurt your feelings ozriel.

We've been widely tipped for relegation for a few seasons on the trot now.
27 years and not one relegation. Won promotions to both Saturday and Sunday Div 1.

Who is coaching St Peters this year in the A's and B's??

With Oliver leaving that will hurt them a little.

you didnt hurt my feelings tibbaw . i remember the pre-season game at our ground and how impressed we were with not only your 1st team but the depth you had through the grades. and you got relegated. you might have played a more attractive style of game but you got relegated. as rhino alluded to it was one of those years thats why we are more than happy with 5th spot last year , and yes we will have to improve and we are. concerning our own close shave with the drop, it certainly added to the festivities on our end of season trip knowing 2 proud clubs were fighting for relegation while we partying in mildura. not trying to rub it in tibbaw.

Always have had great respect for Modbury, you always knew you were up for a game against them.

I havent see them play in the last two years but IMO always have had a solid side.

To be fair to Modbury any shortcomings they have with the way that they play their football, they more than make up for with their determination and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the result.

Just ask Sturt Marions keeper after last years game at Grange.

Haha I had no idea who the Saints coach was but considering Dave Baker was there the year before you can't blame me for assuming you were referring to him. What are the odds of Dave B being replaced by Dave B, lol.
