Unsure why Reevesy played but did and played well. Barney played and came off with a injured ankle. Sam played a full game in reserves coming back from a driver injury if im correct. Goober started also up front.

so you played c2.1 this year or what 3 quid?
not to sure mate, don't know if i can bring myself to pay rego  i've never had to pay for it out of my own pocket before, maybe i'll start a thread to gain some sponsorship and i'll go to the highest bidder.

Young fella looked keen but maybe a yard off the pace. Good to see him get a run, hopefully for him he can make that step up... looks like a big jump from Div2 to Div1.

Hey Rexie, i heard that the games may be changed around so that each clubs teams play straight after each other.

E.G.
MP vs AV Ressies First
MP vc AV 1st Team Second
ED vs EG Ressies Third
ED vs EG 1st Team Fourth

any truth, makes sense though.

Two posts and both bagging the Grove. Have you got a grievance to air Georgy Porgy?

I've heard the Grove will be hard to beat this year.

Saw the Grove and they will do well this year and I'm told they have got a few still to come in. Grove are on their way back and will be good to see them restore the glory years down there at Pecker park.
Never argue with an idiot - they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I watched the Downs v Grove game yesterday and wasn't impressed with the Grove. They seem to be very scrappy... may have been the game plan to frustrate the Downs, but if they play like that every week they will struggle to score against good teams. They didnt create much at all going forward. There was a good 5minute spell where they managed to hold possession and move the ball well, but a small patch in an otherwise average performance.

George clearly you are on crack
the grove look the goods not sure if you noticed on the weekend they didnt taker it overly seriously considering before the whistle there were afew of the boys singing billy joel... hate to be the bearer of bad news but the downs were as scrappy as the grove and the grove had stav but then again the downs had liam hart playing so really only 20 players on the pitch if the downs play like they have in the preseason cup all year they could quite possibly get relogated 2 shit goals against the grove a few injured and bad temprements the grove had a few too could be a quiet year from the nothern contenders..
munno para i think will stay in div 3 as to the loss of both the doolans might go ok if lee petierson stays fit and keegs start scoring and angle vale have a few good young players in their team that should be welcomed at any div 2 side and push div 1 for a spot

Agree Trimboli, they did look good in patches!

Is Beau the new Stewey Gannon? Takes every free kick, every throw in, every corner, and every goal kick if he gets the chance!

Stewey Gannon is in his fourties or fifties. :? Don't reckon he could be arsed doing all that running required.

He was in full support of the comp though and said it was a great idea but the timing would not suit what he was looking for.

Really looking forward to it now after lots of talk with the council and SAASL. Council are actually putting up $1000 prise money for the winner!
Thats fair enough, i suppose if all goes well theres always nxt yr :D
Sounds like it went well VB, i have heard Vale are in the comp 2011
At the end of it all there will still be Football !!

Good work Pecker. Glad someone is taking it on again.

I am no longer on the committee at the Downs and was hoping someone would continue the hard work I put in to get the comp up and running.
If you need any help so far as in appraoching the council for the Prize Money let me know. I went to school with the new mayor.
I think my drinking club has a soccer problem.....
